Lena and Ruth are still at home in Punxsutawney, being next door neighbors. Lena is happily remarried, and as spring unfolds, what can steal their joy? Their neighbors with many dark secrets. Ruth believes the husband is slowly draining the life out of his wife and adult daughters. She tells the husband Christian character is above Amish manmade rules and calls him out as a hypocrite. Lena tones Ruth down and suggests they plant seeds of hope and love with appropriated doses of scripture to help the family. But Ruth was given a warning back home in New York for being too evangelical. She's never been one to do anything in halves and gets a bit preachy towards these neighbors. When they accuse her of being too cozy with Ex-Amish who are now Mennonite, will Ruth and her husband have to leave the Old Order Amish? Join the Mennonites Church? Spring Seeds is the sequel to Winter Wheat but can be read as a standalone novel. Amish recipes are included along with a discussion guide for book clubs.

Spring Seeds is the second book in the At Home in Pennsylvania Amish Country series written by Karen Anna Vogel. We are once again learning what is going on in Lena and Ruth's lives. It is anything but dull. The storyline has a lot of bumps and curves which keeps the story moving along and making the reader wanting more.

The author has done her research in offering Bible scripture in this story. I enjoyed the characters of Lena and Ruth and was not surprised with the way they jumped feet first to help their neighbors and their Gmay. Even tho Granny wasn't in this book everytime Smicksburg was mentioned I couldn't help thinking about her. All the characters make this story flow smoothly and they are very likeable and realistic and i enjoyed watching them evolve throughout the story.

I was not given a complimentary copy of this amazing book to read and review. I was not approached to post a favorable review at anytime. I have rated this book with five stars for meeting my expectations of a wonderful story that i can highly recommend to all those who love the Amish genre. All opinions are strickly my own.

CONGRATULATIONS to Karen Anna Vogel for providing her readers with an another amazing story to enjoy. I look forward to reading more amazing books by this author in the future.

Did not enjoy

Too many characters introduced. I didn't feel like I knew them very well because angst was thrown in from multiple sides almost on top of each other. At 60%, I realized I just wanted it to be over so skip read another 3-4%. Then checked the ending.

I really liked book one but this one did nothing for me.

Faith, Trust and Honesty! Great Read!

I really enjoyed this book. The character Ruth really stood out to me. She is very outspoken but compassionate to other's. She opens her home and her heart. Ruth's faith is strong in God. I am anxious for the next book in the series.

Different than your usual Amish Stories

I loved the first book and this one was good, but maybe a little far off the usual stories I’m used to reading.

Book 2

This was quite the story! A lot of good examples on how to deal with difficult people and how to forgive.
