She was the light to my darkness.

New York Times and USA Today Best Seller L. Wilder brings readers a new Satan's Fury series that is guaranteed to keep you on the edge of your seat.

Blaze:
In Memphis, Tennessee, Satan's Fury MC had become the most notorious MC in the city. That recognition hadn't come easy. While people were visiting Graceland and walking down on Beale Street, my brothers and I were at war, fighting rival MCs and gangs who were trying to take control of our territory.

We had staked our claim, but when a new threat arrived, everything we had worked for would be put in jeopardy.

Kenadee Brooks was a nurse, trying to save lives and make a difference in the world. The moment I saw her, it wasn't just her beauty that caught my eye. It was the light that burned deep inside of her that drew me in. I longed for it, and with each moment I spent with her, the more determined I became to make her mine.

But when she was pulled into my world, saw the life that I lived, would that light I craved still burn bright or would it disappear forever?

Blaze is book one of the Satan's Fury MC- Memphis Chapter. This full-length standalone novel is intended for mature audiences only due to the explicit language and violence. Contains no cheating and a swoon-worthy HEA.

description~WRITING - PLOT - PACE~
I actually don't have very much to say about this one. I enjoyed it quite a lot. It was a quick and pretty easy peasy read. The writing was great. It was well paced. It was told in a dual POV format. The plot was engaging and kept me turning the pages. That said, you could definitely tell this was the first book in a new series. The romance took a back seat to all the setup with the MC and its members. Last, it was all wrapped up in a sweet happy for now ending. I am 100% sure we will be seeing these characters again in upcoming books.

~HERO~
BLAZE (Sawyer)...I like Sawyer a lot. He didn't appear to be a manwhore. He was a great father. He was a great MC brother. He was sweet. He was hot. He was alpha. He was bada$$ish. He was all about Kenadee from the minute he sees her. He was a good hero.

~HEROINE~
KENADEE...I actually ADORED Kenadee. She was feisty. She was super sweet. She had a good head on her shoulders. I especially loved when she told Sawyer she wasn't going to chase him he either wanted to be with her or he didn't. No doormat here. She didn't play games, and she was all about Sawyer from the minute they meet.

description

~SECONDARY CHARACTERS~
There were a TON of secondary characters in this book. I loved Kenadee's BFF and wonder if she is going to end up with one of the MC brothers? I loved Sawyer's son, he was totes adorbs. I loved Sawyers parents. And of course, we get introduced to many of Blaze's MC brothers. I was especially intrigued by Shadow, Riggs, and Gus. I can't wait to see what this author has up her sleeve for all of them.

~HEAT LEVEL~
Low. Like I mentioned above, I felt the romance in this one really took a backseat to the world building. So because of that, there were not very many sex scenes, and they were only moderately spicy. The couple did have good on page chemistry when they actually spent more than two minutes in each other's company. Which, unfortunately, wasn't all that often.

~ANGST LEVEL - SEXUAL HISTORIES~
Low. This book was very insta-lust and easy peasy in terms of the relationship between Sawyer and Kenadee. Some mild bumps in the road, but they were sold the entire way through the book. We get a little angst from the MC being attacked. Neither were virgins. I don't think Sawyer was a manwhore, but it was briefly mentioned he had slept with some "hang arounds" <--- polite way to say club whores I think (lol). It is never mentioned when Kenadee last had sex. There wasn't really any OW drama, but there were a couple "hang arounds" that pop up in the book. Sadie seemed to be sweet and a decent person, and she didn't cause any issues. Jasmine, on the other hand, left me scratching my head. I have NO idea what the point to her characters was AT ALL. She shoves her breasts in Sawyers' face and then is snotty to Kenadee, but then she does this 180-degree turn and is all sweet and apparently this wonderful woman. Honestly, it was just so bizarre. I have NO idea what the author was doing with her character? There was no OM drama.

SIDE NOTE: So a little funny about these "hang-arounds" I found it hilarious (and a bit in bad taste) that the club is on lockdown and the hero's parents are staying there. His nine-year-old son is staying there. Some other young kids are staying there, and the hang arounds are cooking up breakfast in their hoe outfits. Like WTF?? *lol*

~IN THE END~
Overall this was a really good read. It was fast paced and engaging. It set up the series very well. The characters were all intriguing and likable. It wasn't packed full of angst and drama. I only wish more time had been spent developing the romance between Sawyer and Kenadee, and I didn't really get the "Jasmine" thing, but both of those were really just smallish issues. Therefore yours truly is going to give this one two solid thumbs up and I am looking forward to diving into Shadow's book in July.description

⭐️⭐️⭐️1/2 STARS.
ARC BOOK REVIEW
Release Date-22/4/18

This Is my first book by L Wilder and I found it to be an enjoyable experience.
I do usually prefer my MC romances of a much darker nature.
Don't get me wrong this was not all puppies and rainbows, far from it.
But I did find this to be much lighter than what I usually go for in this particular genre.
That said this made a nice change and I did love the overall romantic dynamic portrayed between Sawyer and Kenadee.
I found the interactions between these two really sweet.
Another Thing I really liked here was that Sawyer was a single dad.
It was fabulous to see the contrast between big bad biker and the committed family man and dad that Blaze ultimately was.
This book had a bit of everything with its fast past suspenseful storyline.
And at its centre was a sweet romantic love story that pulled at my heartstrings.
I really liked both main characters here, they were such relatable individuals.
This book also had an array of interesting side-characters all bringing something unique to the table.
This wasn't an angsty story at all.
Most of the drama came from the turf-war occurring alongside the romance.
There was no OW or OM drama and the romance portrayed here was of an easy-going but passionate nature.
If I had to nitpick, I would have maybe liked Kenadee to have more of a backbone when it came to questioning the events surrounding her.
I felt she was too accepting at times considering this lifestyle was a totally new thing to her.
I would have expected her to be more shocked at things than she initially was.
All that aside this was an enjoyable read that I am happy to recommend.
Thank You to the Author for providing me with an ARC of "Blaze:: Satan's Fury MC- Memphis Chapter" of which I have reviewed voluntary.
All opinions expressed are entirely my own.

Blaze was the first book in L Wilder’s Satan’s Fury MC - Memphis Chapter. It was a spin off from her Satan’s Fury series. We met the Memphis Chapter in Clutch, book four and more recent in Diesel, book eight. I loved the original series and I had high expectations for this one as well!

Sawyer “Blaze” Mathews was a patched member of the MC. He was a single father raising his eight year old son who was in remission from cancer. Loyalty and family were everything to him. He loved his family and his MC and he had no time or interest in adding to it with a relationship.

Kenadee Brooks was an ER nurse. She had met Blaze in a chance meeting at a diner and then again at the hospital with his son. The chemistry was off the charts but she was apprehensive starting anything with an MC member.

Wilder took us through the initial interactions, the friendship building and the relationship development. She also set the ground work for the MC. I enjoyed the bonding, loyalty and the suspenseful plot that she weaved. It was central to the storyline and kept me turning the pages to find out what was next. It added depth, complexity and dimension to the storyline.

In the end, it was well written, well developed and I was craving more. Although I enjoyed both Blaze and Kenadee tremendously, the suspenseful plot was what continued to draw me in. Some was concluded but the underlying theme will continue as the foundation for the series. The mysterious and quiet Shadow is next up and I can’t wait.

3 Stars.....disappointing:(

OK, so anyone who has seen my reviews will know that I love this author. I really hate that this story was so disappointing to me:(

First off, Blaze was one of the least alpha type heroes for me, he was just ok and most of time sort of infuriating. The way he treated Kenadee in some of the moments, for me, so not cool. Now let's talk about her, talk about a doormat, the way he spoke to her on a few occasions....hmmmmm I would have walked away and he would have had to grovel really HARD and he didn't.....and she didn't seem to care....call me baffled and turned off!

Sorry, I was so disappointed in these characters. Nothing about them stood out and quite frankly they were somewhat just an ok couple and honestly didn't feel connected to them at all.

I feel so odd because usually this author is always a winner with me but this story of these 2 was very disappointing and underwhelming:(

I will continue with the series for sure!

Sawyer (Blaze) and Kenadee’s love story is really great. Blaze is a father, biker, and son. He takes on many hats and does it pretty well. But when he meets Kenadee he wants to add her to his list of things to do.

Kendee is an ER Nurse and has a wonderful personality and light to herself. She wants to help people and sees the good in everyone. Pretty much the total opposite of Blaze. Which in this case makes for a wonderful read.

When there is a threat to the Satan Fury's and everyone has to come into the club and stay, Kendee is forced to be there with Blaze. Needless to say, Kendee and Blaze learn a lot about each other in close proximity to each other.

I really enjoyed this story and was honored to read it for my honest review.

Blaze is book one in the spin off series for the Satan's Fury MC. Initially I struggled to get into the story but once the danger picked up, I was more engaged. Sawyer is a single father and member of the Satans Fury MC in Memphis. They are helping set up a big pipeline for their founding chapter in Washington and its important. He runs the clubs garage which helps launder money.

Kenadee is a nurse in the local ER. She runs into Sawyer at a diner and there is an instant attraction. But, she knows that MCs can be trouble. However, after treating Sawyer's son in the ER, she agrees to a date with Sawyer and sparks fly!

Around the 1/2 way point, the action picks up. The club is under attack and there is serious danger and death. Kenadee is called upon to help treat the injured and realizes she is seriously in over her head. But, she likes Sawyer a great deal so emotionally she is torn.

Sawyer's entire family (his parents and his son) are aware of Satan's Fury and Sawyer's role in the club. In fact, during part of the danger, they are all living in the clubhouse. So, obviously, this is different than your typical MC. Overall, this was a solid start to the spin off series and I am interested enough to keep reading.

POV: dual 1st
Tears: no
Trope: MC club, single dad
Triggers: none
Series/Standalone: stand alone
Cliffhanger:
HEA:

Other MC romances by authors like Ryan Michele, Lila Rose, Lani Lynn Vale...then you will probably like Blaze!

4.5 Stars for me. This is my most favorite and the best quality book that I have read so far by this author. I've read all of the Satan's Fury and Devil Chasers series by this author. I loved both the H and the h in this story. Nothing OTT, just a good love story with normal characters. Highly recommend this one. Hope to see more in this series.

First.... Omg! Another Fury book! Woohoo! *dances around the room*
Now that we have that out of the way, let's go to the business. Lol.
Well, spin off started with a bang! It was intense read and it kept me on my toes. You know that feeling, when you're itchy to check in the future chapters, but also don't wanna to miss a thing and also you know you need to be good girl and just learn everything on time. I was just so curious to find out what's going on!
I don't wanna to spoil anything, just gonna to say war is coming. And so while I only seen Memphis brothers from time to time through original series, I already got attached to them. So, when shit started to hit the fan, I was worried and my heart broke.
Blaze and Kenadee.... Those two... They are a miracle. I think it would be a right description about them. They have different views. They live in different worlds. So, when they lifes collided, and though it was beautiful, it still seems that they couldn't hold on through the storm because of those differences. This was another thing, that worried me and kept me on my toes. Will Kenadee can accept the rules of the club? Can she accept that being with Blaze, she will have to bind part of herself, that needs answers? Can she accept that her life wouldn't be just black and white?
And Blaze... He was... Well, he's such an alpha biker but also so luscious and sweet. He so needs a light, like Kenadee in his life. And despite his beliefs, he deserves Kenadees light.

This book was a wild ride. It was the first in a spin off of a series I already loved, and it's definitely a memorable first book.

Blaze and Kenadee were both very likeable characters. Blaze was an alpha without being a jerk. The whole single father who clearly loved his son thing was a huge plus in his favor. Kenadee was a strong character who didn't shrink away even in intense moments with Blaze and I loved it.

I felt like this book had a bit of a darker feel to it then previous books I've read by L. Wilder. Lucky for me I like dark books so I'm very intrigued to see where this series is going to go.

As usual with these books I get my interest piqued by the other MC members who make appearances throughout the story. I'm very happy that the character I was most interested in other than Blaze is next up. July needs to get here soon.

I have to admit that I was pretty disappointed with this book. I'm normally really pleased with the characters in the Satan's Fury universe, and with L. Wilder's style, but not this time.
Blaze (Sawyer) came across as a presumptuous jerk a great deal of the time. Demanding, insulting, and a bit of a bratty child. Kenadee wasn't much better. Any time she was confronted with a choice to make, or had conflicting emotions to Blaze, she gave in to what he wanted. Kenadee dropped everything for Blaze and was snapped at, lied to, talked over, and ignored for a good portion of the book.
Every time a conversation about how she was being treated came up, she would either apologize or sweep her own emotions aside for his sake. It felt very much like a one way street, where she was required to give up and change her life around to please him.
In all, Blaze and the Memphis chapter of Satan's Fury left me with a bad taste in my mouth, and I'll be hesitant to pick up the next in the series.

L. Wilder will ALWAYS have a special place in my heart as an author above the rest. Not in like a weird way or anything. Actually, the reason is pretty sentimental for me.

You see, before I was the Angela you have come to know. You know, the one that enjoys reading the comings (hehehe) of kinky alien smut, or just any damn fucking book smut I can get my hands on in general; I was kind of a prude. Kind of. Not entirely. I read a lot of YA and if you've read any YA in your life then you know how black and white any type of sex-scene can be (and that's if there are any in the first place).

Well, in drops L. Wilder. On a total whim, I bought my first Kindle (which I still own because I can't depart with the bugger). You see, it was L. Wilder's book, Snitch that wound up breaking me from my YA egg and allowing my mind to expand its reading journey. And thank fuck for that. Here I am, tons and tons of books (smut) later, and I'm hooked. And guess what? NO FUCKING SHAME!

Anyways, I need a moment.

description

K, I'm good.

So it goes without saying that any new book L. Wilder does release I am usually there gobbling it up.

Blaze was no disappointment.

I actually had no idea she was releasing a spin-off series and I'm so happy she is because I actually like this bunch a whole lot more! These guys just further the love in my heart for big-biker-badasses-with a teddy-bears touch-to the brink of an overflow. I fell and I fell hard.

For one, Blaze was hella hot and sweet but still strutted with the prowess of a biker who mean's business. For the second, Kenadee was a strong, independent woman who had no problem speaking her mind or chewing the man's ear off. Also, I gotta respect a girl with the type of head on her shoulders that doesn't jump to conclusions and actually exercised the rational part of her brain (ie. put her damn foot down when Blaze wanted to jump the gun. Like, seriously, you fucking GO GIRL!)

description

But this story was actually really sad at times and I'm sorry to see a few bikers go. I'm sure their stories would have been awesome. Would've.

Anyways, there was never a dull moment and the biker-politic intrigue was suspenseful and I eagerly ate them words up just to see what would come of the club.

A few scenes had me like:

I love me a good MC novel and Wilder wrote a great start to a new series. Blaze is a loyal member of the Satan's Fury MC who run Memphis. Kenadee is a nurse who stops to get the best burger in town and meets Blaze. Blaze is not your typical MC guy he has a 8 year old son and loves his parents.
The story had great plot twists and gave foreshadowing of stories to come in the series.

Loved the Devil and Satan series but don't think I'll be reading more of the Memphis spin off. Too insta love for me. Not sure what the attraction was for Kenadee and Blaze. Blaze also seemed a bit selfish. After losing a wife and almost losing a child he still put the club first. Even had his parents involved in a way. The story line was really weak too. I pretty much skimmed this book in the end as it was boring......
