Mr. Man Candy

Rate this book
Enemies-to-lovers, a fake boyfriend, and very real feelings... Visit a tropical island, meet a rich, handsome player and root for the bad boy in Alessandra Hart's newest standalone romance novel.

Going to a destination wedding should be fun, right? Not when there's a +1 on the invite, and you're painfully single. I don't want to face my family without a date, so I've told them all about my gorgeous, charming, all-around-amazing boyfriend. The only problem? He doesn't exist.

In walks Nate Scott. Playboy. Loaded. Handsome. Bad news.

He's also my only option, and surprisingly, he agrees to be my fake boyfriend during the wedding festivities. Neither of us know what we're really getting into with this game of pretend, though. We started off as enemies, but suddenly, I don't hate his guts. Suddenly, his smirk is more dangerous than annoying... and suddenly, my fake feelings have turned very real.

So maybe he's not just man candy after all.

The island weather isn't the only thing heating up, because I might just be falling for my very fake, very handsome and very off-limits boyfriend...

What a story…..I don’t even know where to begin. When I first read the blurb, I thought it was going to be this nice sweet enemies to lovers or at least friends to lovers type book. It was this and MORE. While the book was amazing on its own the MORE is what made it blow my mind. I won’t give spoilers but holy buckets.

I liked the character of Nate from the very beginning. He wasn’t portrayed the best the very first time we meet him but I feel like we are quick to forgive him. While in the beginning he is more than interested in Georgie he can’t seem to shake thinking about her in more than just a horizontal way. You also know that there is more to him that broken conversations that Georgie overhears.

I will admit to took me a bit to warm up to Georgie. She did tend to jump to conclusions a lot especially when she was the one bringing the fake boyfriend to the wedding. Once Nate wore her down, she started to open up and that is when I really started to relate to her. You began to understand her issues and concerns and why she jumps to some of the conclusions that she did.

The storyline about Nate and his brother is the one that I loved. I hadn’t expected that from this book and I was happily surprised.

This is the story of Georgie and Nate.
Georgie is desperate to find a fake boyfriend for her sister's wedding and when she overhears Nate talking on the phone admitting that someone stole a lot of money from him and now he is broke she thinks she's in luck. She will offer him money if he agrees to be her fake boyfriend.
Nate is not broke but doesn't correct Georgie. He decides to go with her plan because he likes her and wants to know her better.
The line between what is fake and what real starts to blur when they both start having some serious feelings for each other. And as if not this is not enough, they get themselves in some hilarious situations, in some sad ones and in other ones that test their trust and loyalty.
I really liked this book. It was very easy to read. Nate was the perfect boyfriend (fake and real). I love the fact that they stood by each other and supported one another when needed. Georgie was really funny and I was happy seeing her finding her HEA in somebody like Nate who could appreciate of who she was.
The twist at the end was amazing and unexpected.

ARC provided in exhange for my honest review.

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. This is a mysterious, suspenseful, exciting romance. Georgie is an independent woman. A professional photographer by trade. She is self aware and doesn't take guff from anyone, especially men. However, Georgie has had her heart crushed in the past and that has made her unavailable to suitors who may want to get to know her. Her mother is constantly on her case about being single and Georgie has had it. Her younger sister Libby was getting married to Bobby. This is where things become interesting in the story. She has to find a fake boyfriend. Nate Scott came from humble beginnings and made it big. However right now he was dealing with a ten million dollar theft from his company and everything points to his brother Robert. Nate and Georgie meet at a photoshoot and the rest of the story is about their fake relationship, solving the crime and dealing with the animosity between Nate and his brother. Hijinks ensue, misunderstandings, assumptions, eureka moments, and passion. An excellent read. Highly recommend this book.

This is the second book I have read by this author and again enjoyed it, the storyline draws you in the characters are interesting and likeable, my only complaint was I felt the ending seemed rushed your kept in suspense and fed tidbits of information throughout the book then in the last chapter everything is thrown at you talk about information overload, however the twist was very clever. This is a sweet lighthearted romantic story about Nate a millionaire who has had half his wealth stolen with his brother being his number one suspect and Georgie who was organising a charity calendar with Nate being Mr November. Georgie is in a dilemma she needs a plus one for her coming sisters wedding to silence her mothers hurtful snide comments and she thinks Nate could fill the position. They both have big family issues and sometimes things are not quite as they seem, what does it mean for Nate and Georgie?? Could they find solace in each other and have a HEA. I was given this as an ARC from Booksprout in exchange for a voluntary honesty review.

My second story by Alessandra and once again, a brilliant read.
Just imagine.... sunshine, sand, tropical isles, drinks, cookies!!!!! Bridesmaids, groomsmen and most of all the Bride and Groom. Sounds wonderful. Well it would be if you had someone to go with. Georgie’s sister Libby is getting married but she needs her plus one!!!! Problem is , she hasn’t got a plus one. Time to find a fake boyfriend and now the fun begins.
The story of Nate and Georgie , pretend partners and off to a real wedding. Lots of surprises in store with a dominating mother, crazy cookies, emotional unbrotherly love, big secrets, drama, fraud, theft and so much more but the main thing is the passion and chemistry between Nate and Georgie . Two people so meant to be together. Loved it

Excellent story by the amazing Alessandra Hart! Georgie has been cheated on in the past & is not too keen on relationships. But when her sister is getting married, she is pressured by her mother to bring a plus-one. Georgie and Nate make the most amazing fake couple, and Nate will wait for Georgie while he works at chipping down her walls. In the meantime, Nate had his own $10 million mystery to solve, and a relationship with his brother that needs a bit of work. Great storyline, fantastic characters, a few surprises, some laugh out loud moments (how to get rid of Tripp in one easy session) all make for exceptional reading.

What a wonderful story, the tension in the book is good and also the chemistry splashes off the pages. For me everything in this book was right. She single after a relationship that is deceived, he is someone who is not faithful in relationships and busy with his work and tries to find out who the thief is of his money. She finds him through her work, takes him as a fake friend for her sister of the wedding, but soon finds out that, nothing is what it seems. He feels the chemistry from the first meetings, but does not know how to express himself. More I will not tell you, this book has to read. From me 5 stars

I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader copy of this book. Georgie and Nate were amazing together. Georgie’s sister is getting married and she doesn’t have a date and feeling the pressure from everyone she blurts out that she has a boyfriend when she really has no prospects for one. Nate and Georgie meet by happenstance and the attraction is instant between them and she hatched a plan that will help Nate with his money issues and her with her boyfriend issue. So many twists and turns, surprises and the OMG! moment when Nate meets her sister’s fiancé. Such a great book, loved this story, Alessandra is fast becoming one of my favorites. Highly recommend this book.

I absolutely love this author’s writing style. She adds just the right amount of humor to her books. From start to finish I was hooked. I loved the originality of the plot and how easy the characters are to connect with. This book was one we can all relate to as our parents all question when you will get married and when will you have kids? Seeing Georgie struggle to find a date to her sister’s wedding but find a solution her own way was hilarious and I loved how she connected with Nate. The pace of how this story unfolded was perfect and I enjoyed how Nate just went with the punches. These two were truly meant to be and I loved how the story came together at the end.

This is the second book I've read by this author, and I loved it as much as the first one (mr wrong). I really love the humorous writing style of this author, which had me giggling on quite a few occasions. I thought the book was well written and had a great storyline which was interesting and different quickly drawing me in and keeping me reading.
I really enjoyed the character's of Nate and Georgie, who were likable and had a great deal of depth.
I found this book to be a lovely light hearted easy to read enjoyable book. It had a great twist in it as well that I didn't see coming.

This was a good read. The writing flowed well, but I did feel like the story drug a little in the middle. Nate and Georgie were good together, and I thought they had great chemistry. Georgie was a little annoying at times though, because she was super nosey, but instead of straight up asking questions, she just assumed things. That lead to her being cold to Nate when there was no reason. I was a little surprised at who the real culprit was, I was leaning toward someone else. The HEA was good, and I was happy to see some of the secondary characters get a start towards a HEA too.

This is a very fun fake boyfriend story. Georgie comes across as very likable and realistic. Feeling the pressure and weighed down under the stigma of not having a plus one to her sister's destination wedding, she lies and says she has a boyfriend. Now, she needs to find one. Enter Nate. She offers to pay this bad boy to pretend to be her boyfriend and so their road to romance begins. Filled with heat, humor, drama, suspense, and romance. A very enjoyable and entertaining read. I'm posting a totally honest, voluntary review.

After reading this book, you would never think it's only Alessandra's second book. It's freaking amazing. This one had me guessing all the way through as to what would happen next. Georgie is a really great character and I adored her. I think most of us can relate to her in a way. Fantastic read.

It's so long. So so long. The plot was predictable and that's fine, except it's severely underdeveloped(300+ pages?!) for what it is. You would think you'd get solid characters, insane chemistry, drama, or a plot twist? Just something? It's all surface/one level writing.

I started skimming. Missed nothing.

This was a fun, easy read with a bit of a mystery rolled into it. Nate and Georgie are perfect together and it is fun seeing their relationship build. The little mystery was interesting and blew me away. I tried to guess and I was wrong which I loved. Not a predictable read.

A fake boyfriend romance, which I always find unbelievable, but actually this wasn’t too bad.

The storyline has a decent few twists and turns, the characters were good and once the book got to the actual wedding that the fake boyfriend was needed for, the story picked up and was very readable indeed. I enjoyed it far more than I thought I would.
