Sweet Home Montana
Dumped by a cheating husband, Katie Dobbs' life had gone off the rails and she is now back to square one, living in her parents' home in Sweet, Montana and working a job she hates. She refuses to stay in a dark and empty house as a constant reminder of her mistakes. So she did the only thing that made sense. She breaks into an old dilapidated chapel to figure out her next move, and is nearly arrested by Caleb Samuel, her brother's high school friend who is now a handsome police officer in town.
Caleb had heard Katie was having a hard time. Sweet was a small town and everyone knew everyone else's business. Except for one thing. No one knew where his sister Julie disappeared to 10 years ago and no one had heard from her since. Katie had been good friends with Julie before they'd both left Sweet. Now Katie is back. Buying a broken down chapel to renovate as a house is nuts when you don't know the difference between each end of a hammer. And Katie didn't. But she did know Julie, and maybe she'd be able to give him some insight into where Julie had gone. Caleb offers to help Katie renovate. But one problem after another threatens the project, and leaves Katie thinking she'll never realize her dreams. Until she realizes she's falling in love with her brother's friend. Even as everything seems to be falling apart around them, can love help heal their hearts?
Excerpt:
Katie sat in one of the pews in the back of the chapel and thought about how her life had gone off the rails. She rubbed her fingers together as she laid them on her lap and tried to ward off the bitter Montana cold. A gust of wind swept into the building, making a sudden chill race through her body. It was probably the flimsy plywood door she’d pulled away from the wall.
But then a beam of light swept through the chapel, illuminating features she couldn’t see in the dark until the beam of light landed on her. She quickly turned and saw the stark light source but did not see the person holding the flashlight as they moved through the open door and into the chapel.
“Katy Dobbs? What on earth are you doing in here?"
Katie shielded her eyes with her fingers. "Do I know you?"
The man’s low chuckle sounded familiar, but she still couldn't place it.
“I hope so. I've known you and your brother practically my entire life.”
He dropped the flashlight enough so that it wasn't shining in her eyes directly. She squinted her eyes and looked at the man's silhouette.
“Caleb? Caleb is that you?”
”You were the last person I expected to find in here.”

She needs his help to rebuild her life and he needs hers to find his missing sister. What begins as a means to an end becomes a healing process for a broken heart and a shattered soul. Sweet Home Montana is an uplifting tale of second chances. Sometimes the wrong time can be the perfect moment to find forever.

This is a clean, sweet romance perfect for an afternoon reading.
The first book in this series was part of the Rodeo Knights series . In that one we met Kasper Dobbs , a successful businessman from Sweet. This story belongs to his sister, Katie.
Katie is back home penniless and with low self-esteem, after her divorce . One night she trespasses an old dilapidated church that has always fascinated her. Caleb, a police officer in town, goes to check who is the one trespassing , and finds Katie. They have known each other since childhood, not only because it’s a small town, but also because Katie and his sister were best friends.
As Katie tells him her dreams for the church’s restoration, he sees her vision and wants to help her. Lots of obstacles have to be overcome , but will they be able to find also their HEA at the end?
It’s also a story about family, dreams, choices we make in life and finding love.
Looking forward to more stories in this series. Hopefully Caleb’s sister will have one of her own.

Lisa Mondello writes a classically enjoyable romance novel complete with down-trodden heroine and badge-wearing hero.
What more could you, the reader, wish for?
Possibly, you’ll want a well written story with believable characters and a fascinating backdrop – all written with detail and precision, allowing the story to pull at your emotions – Well, this book has it all.
Anyone familiar with Ms Mondello’s work with expect all of the above, and I’m happy to say that I think the book provides.
What more could you, the reader, wish for?

Katie is back home in Montana after being gone for 10 years, divorced and broke. Her dream was design school away from her small hometown. She goes to the abandoned chapel property where Caleb finds her. He was in the military for four years and came back to be in law enforcement. The more time they spend working together on the renovations the closer they got and on the way to falling for each other. This was a well written novella and a very enjoyable read.

Katie back home, though ten years later, suns her life as pathetic. Driving to an abandoned, dilapidated church, she finds the comfort. Till the beam of light from the police, and Caleb She knew him, memories of the past of visits to this chapel. Now, she wants to save it, with the work and help of others she will also be regaining herself. Beautiful story, of finding yourself once again. Maybe a new start with love and new memories might happen.

Caleb is the sheriff in the town he grew up in, Katies returned home after 10 years and a divorce. They renew a friendship and become friends maybe more? But he is here to stay and she can't wait to leave again.

I received a complimentary copy of this book and I am voluntarily reviewing it.
This was a nice wholesome romance. The characters are wonderful to read about. I appreciated the book being written with dual POVs. It was nice to see reoccurring characters from the first book also in this one. It was a great to read and while there was some angst, it wasn't drawn out. This book just needed a little more editing but it didn't take anything away from the story.

Good read
Love lawmen and cowboys. She is back home after a disastrous divorce and abandonment. He came home from the military and is with the local police. They've known each other all their lives and he was her brother's best friend. She's trying to put her life back together and he wants to help. A little kissing, but no sex, some humor, and some angst. Highly recommend.

A Fantastic, Must Read Book
I voluntarily reviewed an arc of this book. This is a very nice, entertaining story from Lisa Mondello. It is really well written, interesting storyline that had be hooked from the first chapter. I loved the lovely, engaging characters who have great chemistry and interaction. This is an Entertaining, Must Read Romantic Story and I really enjoyed reading it

A fantastic must read romance. It’s a fresh start that has everything you want in a sweet love story. I loved the chemistry between Katie and Caleb and how their relationship developed without either even trying.

A good solid story with humor amid chaos that is her life. The author created a believable storyline with relatable characters who find love...a deep and wonderful love.

This was like a lame Hallmark movie and I didn't really like the main character. She made dumb choices, couldn't communicate well, and was too hung up on the past.

Katie Dobbs, poor pitiful me attitude, almost made me quit reading. Caleb rescued the book. I would love to see the finished chapel.
