I received a free copy from our church that had enough to give away and encouraged us to take more than one and give them away as well.
I found the daily smaller pages to be perfect for the time our two year old can sit for family devotions. It was enjoyable read. This was a great read for the easter season and I loved focusing on it for 40 days instead of just a week.
I enjoyed this book very much. I would encourage anyone who wants to spent the Easter Season with the Lord include this book in their daily read. I love how it fits into any religion base, you don’t have to participate in Lent to benefit from the thoughts and wisdom of this book. I feel like the Author has done a great job in bringing all the parts of the celebration of Easter into one, full and complete meaning of sacrifice, gratitude and better understanding of what the Lord has done for us. I know that Christ is my Savior and he died that I might live again.
I find the daily smaller pages to be easy to fit in a purse and also enjoyable to read in a fairly short amount of time. A book that will help you to remember and connect with Easter in a faith based way and I would recommend it for anyone who is going to celebrate what the holiday is truly about.
This small 40 day devotional takes your mind and heart on a trip through the Lenten season. Instead of giving up something, we are challenged to take up and take on the Lord Jesus. Walk with Him during these days. I loved the daily code words that the author gives to guide our thoughts throughout the day.
This was an easy to read devotional. If you like to prepare for Easter, you start on this 40 days leading into Easter. The readings are short so not time consuming.
This is the first year I’ve used this devotional book for Lent and will continue to do so in the future. The length of each devotion is perfect for me as a special add-on for the season, and the physical size of the booklet makes it easy to carry in a purse or briefcase.
Each devotion has a code word, or a word for the focus of the devotion and includes a short scripture and prayer. I appreciated it so much that I am preparing to use The Christmas Code and have a full-size Code devotion by Mr Hawkins to enjoy in the new year.
I highly recommend this for anyone who wants a concise, focused devotional book that begins on Ash Wednesday and ends with an epilogue following Easter Sunday.
