I have been waiting to get my hands on this book and I was not disapointed!
This book picks up exactly where The Young and the Submissive left off! To say that book had a cliff hanger was the understatement of the year and waiting to see what would happen has been driving me insane!
So if you are unaware, the phone call at the end of second book is nothing but trouble landing squarely in Liam's lap. The form of this trouble, his horrendous ex-wife!! And let me tell you his ex is a hot mess of trouble! Liam and Hammer have just gotten through all their crap to be with Raine and then the ex-wife has the perfect timing to pop up and cut their stay at the lodge short. Liam & Hammer have a disagreement about what to tell Raine and she senses they are keeping secrets. After how far she has come, I was waiting for the backslide that would set back their relationship. At first it didn't happen, she continued to blossom for both Hammer and Liam, but when Liam's jealously, the stress of his ex, and Raine's father coming back into the picture well.....the relationship does a backslide.
While the backslide wasn't surprising, what was, was how quickly they all pulled together to come back from it. The relationship these three have developed is just amazing and makes me want my own Liam & Hammer! This book has plenty of action and suspense, I couldn't read the book fast enough to figure out what was going to go down! Rain's father finally got what was coming to him and there is a happy every after in sight for Liam, Hammer & Raine! And I must also say that I will be seriously disapointed if Beck & Seth do not get their stories!
WARNING: This is not the conclusion!! There is another cliffhanger at the end of this book!! So yes here I go impatiently awaiting the 4th and final book in The Dom's of Her Life series!!!
Raine has shown some growth toward maturity, but is still struggling. I have to admit I get exasperated with her character at times. I have to remember the premise for this character which is abuse. She was abused by her stepfather after her mother died. Bill has to be one of the most disgusting characters ever written about. He is abusive, a drunkard, and to top it all, tried to rape Raine. This continues to be the foundation to all her problems in dealing with men and handling love.
Hammer does come through as a Dominant in charge of everything. He also comes through as so stubborn and set in his ways that sometimes he misses the forest for the tree. Being in charge also means knowing what is the right thing to do. At times he will hide the truth from Raine just to control the situation, only to have it all blow up on him because he has not been completely honest. One good thing is that he is now more in touch with his emotions and is able to speak about them out loud. He is very protective of Raine and his dedication to her cannot be questioned.
Liam is my favorite. He is smart, kind and a gentler version of a Dominant. Throughout, he has shown himself to be smart, loving and honest. His one flaw is his jealousy. He must face this if he is to stay together with Raine and Hammer in this threesome relationship.
Together, all three have to face some pretty tough obstacles. Their love for each other is their saving grace. This is an entertaining book. My biggest issue with it are the pages long inner thoughts that keep repeating over and over and over again what the reader already knows. My personal opinion. I prefer a more streamlined approach to a story where the author builds on existing knowledge and does not have to repeat the obvious over and over again.
This one should have been called "We not yet dealt with our baggage". All three of these ones had issues that seemed to be conquered come back and threaten the new relationship. I thought the decision the guys made at the start of the book was wrong, so very wrong. Had they told Raine up front what was going on so many uncertainties later wouldn't have happened, nor would Raine had been surprised by the She-Beast.
I was stunned by the gall that the She-Beast had during the book, how she manipulated everyone. I loved the situation that she ended up in by the end.
It was nice that by the end of the book all three people in the relationship seemed to have worked out their issues, that they were ready to face the world a cohesive unit, a good thing too, due to the news that they received.
How are two dom's supposed to keep their love protected? Loved? Cherished? Help her achieve true submission when everything except the kitchen sink is being thrown at them from every direction? Things get intense making one Dom's jealously come out and instead of letting it hurt her ....Raine stands up to the challenge and confronts him head on in her own way. She has every reason to be upset at them until it is pointed out that her dom's are only trying to protect her and she is refusing to let them do that. How can she achieve the submission that she wants if she is not willing to let them do what they are wanting to do which is protect her? Jenna, Shayla, and Isabella certainly outdid themselves with this one and I certainly hope that there is more coming in this series!!!
"She's my life now. It was bad enough when I'd convinced myself she didn't love me. But a world without her at all is one I don't want to live in."
"Yeah. If we'd lost Raine..." He swallowed a lump in his throat. "I couldn't go through."
Those two quotes show only a tiny bit of how much Hammer and Liam love Raine. They both have decided they can't live without her. In making that decision the two men decide to share her. They've done this once before with Hammer's wife and it ended badly.
The Bold and the Dominant is the third book in The Doms of Her Life series and when you read it, hold on because you're in for a bumpy ride. If you remember the unbelievable night of passion Raine and her Doms had at the end of The Young and Submissive, you know that Hammer and Liam have come to the decision to share Raine. You also know Liam received a phone call from his ex wife Gwyneth that blows him away.
Gwyneth is a horrible shrew of a woman who cheated on Liam during their marriage. If you think she doesn't have an ulterior motive coming back into Liam's life, you're wrong. Gwyneth causes more havoc in an already complicated situation. Right about now you're probably asking, what did she do? Well, I'm not telling, so go one click now so you can get up to speed.
During this debacle with Gwyneth, Liam worries he's going to lose Raine to Hammer. Since the men are trying to hide Gwyneth from Raine, Obviously Hammer is spending some quality time with her. The whole Dom and Submissive business comes down to complete trust and honesty and for some things, Liam and Hammer tend to keep the truth from Raine. When she does finally run into Gwyneth, it's not a pretty sight.
Add an unexpected person from Raine's past trying to move back in the picture, and you get plot twist after plot twist. All the while Liam and Hammer doing their very best to take care of and satisfy Raine.
Hammer is still the rough around the edges Dom who's been in love with Raine for six years. Liam has known Raine for like a minute and is also crazy in love with her. Liam is more tender and loving. The two men balance each other out. But they are both alpha males and sometimes that leads to the men giving each other ass kicking.
Now I admit the idea of a menage with me and two men does sound appealing. But I'm kind of having a little trouble with the whole sharing thing. Clearly, BDSM is not my lifestyle and I don't know very much about it. I do know if I was in love with someone, sharing would not work for me. Which leads me to my question. Can Raine really be so desperately in love with both men? Liam and Hammer say they're completely fine with their sharing situation, but they both still have a lot of jealousy issues and to me that means this relationship has the potential to explode.
Back to the story. Thankfully, the Gwyneth situation sort of resolves itself because there's a much bigger problem on the horizon. During all of the crazy, Liam and Hammer remain desperate to protect and love their girl. Liam buys Raine a beautiful home for the threesome to live in and Hammer is having it decorated to Raine's liking.
Once again, our authors have given us some hotter than hot sex scenes in The Bold and the Dominant. When Hammer and Raine scene at Shadows and Hammer claims her it's absolutely squirm in your seat worthy.
I also have to say I rather enjoy Seth and Beck's insight into this interesting relationship. They are not only good friends to Liam and Hammer, they are funny as hell. They too really care about Raine. Thankfully, they don't try and claim her for their own. Imagine?
So now, our trio is together thinking about their future and......plot twist! It's a big one and potentially relationship changing.
I was hoping to tell everyone which Dom I'd choose because as much as I like the idea of being taken care of by two men, I think my heart could only belong to one. But since there's going to be one more story in our series, you'll have to wait til then.
I really do like this series a lot. I like the characters and I love sexy alpha men and there are plenty of them. So I'm giving The Bold and the Dominant a four lip smack review. I can't wait to see how this story plays out!
I'm so in love with this series! I absolutely could not put this book down nor did I want it to finish. Shayla Black, Jenna Jacob and Isabella LaPearl have done an outstanding job with these books. It brings out all the feels from the thigh clenching to the frustrations.
These characters will eat you alive. From the heart stopping emotions, to the bouts of jealousy, the rage and audacity at some of the twists and turns that will have you gripping at your hair. This book devoured me. It took me on an emotional high that I was not expecting. The main characters consumed me.
Such an extraordinary story from three amazing authors. The story flows so perfectly. You wouldn't even be able to tell that there are three different authors writing this.
I love a good ménage story but this series far exceeds my expectations and has become a favorite. I can't wait to read more of Liam, Raine and Hammer. And I'm sooo crossing my fingers that we get stories about Beck and Seth. They have definitely left a mark and I need more.
A phenomenal read that you surely won't want to miss out on.
The sexy, suspenseful, and erotically charged drama continues in the next installment of The Doms Of Her Life series. Raine, Liam, and Macen are no strangers to trouble getting in the way of their relationship, and what Liam has waiting for him at Shadows is a disaster waiting to happen. My favorite menage can't seem to catch a break, and in THE BOLD AND THE DOMINANT, the obstacles they face will test their relationship and bring back old demons that were supposed to be laid to rest.
In the midst of all the chaos, they continue to face concerns about their threesome. Jealousy rears its ugly head more than a few times. The insecurities are still there for Raine and just when you think she is moving forward, something is said, something happens that has her taking a few steps back. Liam's patience is running out, and Macen's frustrations are showing. So as you can see, they have a LONG way to go. These two men want more than her heart, mind, and body. They wanted to own her soul.
My emotions ran wild while reading this gem of a book! I felt frustration. I felt anger. I felt love. And I felt compassion and tenderness. You can feel the amount of love that Liam and Macen have for Raine, and in this book, the love that they have for each other, as brothers, not in blood, but in all ways that matter come shining through as well. No matter what struggles, what obstacles they face, they do end up finding their way back. And with every problem faced, their love, their devotion, and their commitment grow stronger.
These three authors continue to blow me away with what they bring to these characters and the storyline. They bring out a reader's emotions so gently, so vividly, you feel like you are on the same level as one of their characters. You feel emotionally tied to Raine and her insecurities. You want what is best for her, and you want to gather her up, hug her, and tell her it will all be okay. You feel Liam's jealousy and resentment with the fact that Macen got to Raine's heart first. You feel pride for Macen for putting up with Liam's resentment, and sometimes staying strong for all three of them.
Shayla Black, Jenna Jacob, and Isabella LaPearl has masterfully captured the feelings, the romance, and the intense passion of this genre with this book. These three have developed the most frustrating, the most lovable, and the most sexy characters in any series I have ever read in this genre, and I couldn't be more in LOVE with this series. Well done ladies! Now...let's ease up on the cliffhangers shall we?
FINAL DECISION: This book continues the saga of the trio trying to work out how their relationship will work. There are a lot of external threat to their happiness in this one which was good, but not as emotional as book 2.
THE STORY: After the events of book 2, things should be perfect between the trio. Macen and Liam have agreed to share Raine in a menage relationship. But just when things are going well, Liam's ex-wife returns and is intent on causing trouble for Liam and his new relationship. Danger in the form of Raine's father also threatens the trio as they continue to try and work through all the pitfalls of developing a stable and loving relationship between them.
OPINION: This book is about Liam and Raine's ghosts. Liam is still struggling with his jealousy in the relationship and with his ex-wife. The best part of this series is that everyone is not immediately hunky-dory with the threesome. To this point, Liam has struggled the most. He clearly has issues with believing that he is not enough for Raine. Much of this appears to stem from his ex-wife's infidelity. This book through its drama (and there is a lot of plot dramatics here), allows Liam to exorcise his demons and fully commit to the relationship.
Raine also must have a final confrontation with the demons of her past. I liked how this was resolved and I especially liked that Raine, rather than either of the two men, is the active participant in resolving her past.
In this book, Macen is the rock. (Can I confess that he is my favorite?) He is the steady one throughout the book which allows the other two to return to the relationship through his determination and strength.
This is a complex story. These characters are engaged in long journey to resolve their past and build a future together.
The ending of this book hints that Macen's challenges are just beginning and I look forward to the conclusion of the trio's story in the next book.
I like the secondary characters as well and hope that there are stories in the future featuring the sadist Beck and fellow dom Seth. This book also has most external action than the other two books in the series.
WORTH MENTIONING: This book ends on a wow cliffhanger.
CONNECTED BOOKS: THE BOLD AND THE DOMINANT is the third book in the Doms of Her Life series. This is a serial that tells the story of the relationship between Raine, Macen and Liam. This series should be read in order because the story builds on the prior books in the series.
Macen "Hammer" Hammerman and Liam O'Neill have not given up on the idea of reaching Raine Kendall. They know that she has a lot of hurt and keeps secrets about her past that they're trying to help her get over. Liam's ex-wife Gwenyth shows up at the club with a life or death situation and she needs to see him immediately. Liam is out of town with Raine and Macen, forcing them to cut their trip short. Apparently, Gwenyth and Liam's son is under emotional distress from the absence of his father, at 5 months old, and has a psychotherapist. All I could think was, really? That's dumb! LOL But the more I got to know Gwenyth, the more I understood she was crazy and everything she was doing was a scheme.
Liam is forced to deal with his past, while leaving Raine with Hammer and his jealousy gets the better of him. His jealousy leaves him feeling that Raine only needs Hammer and not him. Hammer is the rock of the trio, and he's trying to help Liam and take care of Raine at the same time. They balance each other out and I think that's why they make such a good team. Hammer and Liam are trying to figure out what Gwenyth's scheme is when the baby gets sick and she tells Liam everything, thinking he'd help her get out her mess.
Raine's father is not a good man, he abused her as a child. When he comes back because Hammer quit paying him his monthly stipend, he felt he was due his payment. Her father kidnaps her and tells her everything he did to her siblings and mother. Gwenyth worked with Raine's father to manipulate Liam into doing what she wants, paying him. Even after hearing everything that was said between Liam and Mr. Kendall she never believed that Raine would be harmed. She just wanted her way. I was happy to see her going to jail.
When I started this four part serial I figured I would be able to read it and still be able to get done what I needed to. I was wrong, once I started the first book I feel like I didn't surface again until the end of this one and that's only because I have to wait for the 4th part. Raine is a strong woman, a fighter, and willing to do whatever it takes to survive. I'm glad that she was able to slay her dragon once and for all and is now starting her own family. The end of this part was surprising, but something that adds another dimension to the characters and the next part. I can't wait to see how they react and how the dynamics change. I also enjoyed watching Seth and Beck, the more I get to know them the more that I hope we are able to see them get their own book.

As everyone knows, navigating a new relationship is hard. Its even harder when the three people involved in said relationship have doubts about the true feelings and motives of the others involved. Liam wants to be happy, but with his ex showing up unannounced, and causing more problems at a time when he's trying to ensure Raine knows how he feels about her.
Hammer ishappy and would be happier if Raine's father would disappear forever. He knows he should have taken a more pro-active approach with him years ago, but Raine's safety was more important to him, both then and now.
Raine knows there is more going on that than what Liam and Hammer are telling her. She can sense it, feel it. As much as they want her honesty and trust, she needs the same from them.
Raine's submissive nature emerges and both Liam and Macen are astounded by her faith in them. Until they screw up. Again. Raine's submissive nature takes a backseat to her anger, and she lets the f bombs fly.
With each of them facing their own fears and doubts, its a toss up as to who's fears will come to the forefront next. Through it all, their love remains steady and strong, and as they learn to talk it through their problems rather than around them, you can't help but to root for this dynamic threesome.
Once again the authors have sucked me right back into the middle of this trio's story and kept me glued to the pages until the very end. And while I expected The Bold and the Dominant to be the end of Liam, Raine and Hammer's story I was wrong. There is a fourth installment yet to come!! At the end of book 2 Liam got a shocking phone call, let's just say that call leads to nothing good. I love Liam, I think no matter how much I grow to like Hammer Liam will always be number one in my mind. And book three puts him through hell. Literally his whole world is turned upside down and it messes not only with his head but with his self confidence. This in turn throws both Raine and Hammer's lives off kilter as well. Liam is a part of them, while he may not realize just how much what he's going through and feeling affects them they don't stop trying to show him. I adored how Hammer became more of the man I wanted to see out of him when something horrible brings Liam down. While everyone was temporarily shocked, the three came together to solve the problem as one not allowing anyone to try to fix things on his own. There's so much I want to say about the Bold and the Dominant but I'm afraid I'll give something away. Book three is probably my favorite so far, the way the threesome work together to help each other, to keep each other sane shows us just how much stronger they are when their together. Love love freaking love this series, these characters and the authors are freaking amazing. I absolutely cannot wait for the next installment.
Hammer and Liam finally broke down Raine's wall! YES! But Liam's ex-wife comes back. NO! This is how book 2 ends and these authors sucked me right back in with book 3. I loved how the authors had me guessing as to why the ex is back. Just when I thought I had it figured out, I was taken down another path or somewhere unexpected.
Hammer and Liam get through to Raine to be honest and how important it is to them Do they follow their own advice? One man would love to be honest but one man wants to protect her. I was torn for these three. Yes, they are wanting to protect Raine until they have the facts but at the same time, BE HONEST! It's what the two were working with her at the cabin. However, as her Doms, they know what is best for their sub. Will Raine trust these two or will she do as she always does and run?
Between these two Doms, I would fall for Liam. I mean, come on, Hammer had his chance. I know he loves her but he didn't do anything for so long and Liam....well, he only meant to push Hammer but fell in love. Poor Liam goes through so much in this book and I got to see more about his past that helped me to understand him better. I also loved reading how Hammer and Liam could just communicate with a look. These two are so connected with each other and with each Raine.
My only complaint about this book.....another cliff hanger. I hate for the book to ever end but I just want these three happy.
Just when you thought it couldn't get any better....Shayla Black, Jenna Jacob and Isabella LaPearl knock it out of the park again!! This has been an awesome series thus far and keeps sucking me back in and leaving me wanting more. This is the continuing story of Raine, Hammer and Liam and their twisted web menage.
This story picks up where Book 2 left off with Hammer, Liam and Raine forging their relationship and awakened in the middle of the night by a call from Gwenyth, Liam's ex-wife. But Gwenyth is not the only serpent in the pit looking to wreck havoc....Raine's father is looking for his piece of the pie as well. Cut off financially by Hammer, Bill Kendall is seeking his revenge in the worst way possible. As insecurities rise with Gwenyth's unexpected unannounced surprising and definitely unwelcome appearance, Raine must hold it together as Liam sorts his ex-wife. Will this be the fissure that cracks the newly forged and still delicate balance in their trio? or will insecurity and treachery prevail and shatter their bonds?
I urge you to read on in The Bold and the Dominant....it just keeps getting better. Just when you think things couldn't get any more screwed up, BOOM. The sex and BDSM scenes are HOT!!! as Raine submits to her Masters. The emotions of all three leads spills out across the pages in this book. Warning: There is a cliffhanger but it made me smile anyways!!
**I received a free copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads.**
After an amazing weekend together, Hammer and Liam are seeing the progress they've made with Raine. They are starting to believe that this could happen, they can all be in a relationship. Raine was open and working on her communication, with Beck and Seth helping her understand those oh so dominant men.
With one phone call everything changes. Can they come back from it? Can they come back to each other?
So many twists and turns in this one, with a touch of suspense thrown in. Lies will be exposed, truths will be found, frustrations and stress are running high and I couldn't put it down. I love this trio, but I still really need more Beck and Seth...I am intrigued at the little glimpse I got toward the end.
Waiting patiently to see what's next for the trio.
"I received a free copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads"
This is the third in the series (not the last) and you need to have read the previous two to understand just how tense things become! I just hope these ladies are busy writing book four, as ... well, I need it.
I love these characters, flaws and all, and certainly at the beginning, just wanted to knock the guys' heads together. Even they know that communication is key, and yet ... Then again, the book would be shorter if they worked things out too quickly! Hot, loving, maddening, hot, frustrating, enjoyable reading. There is a cord that binds these three together, which stretches and pulls and somehow one can believe that it will eventually settle, until something else comes along and threatens it. One of those books that sucks you in, and definitely a series to add to the read again vault.
~I received a free copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads Review Team~ Wow! Each book gets better and I am drawn into the story even more! I don’t want to give anything away because this book had so many things happen and some were unbelievable and you just wanted to throw your Kindle across the room. I love Raine, Liam and Macen and once again their chemistry is off the charts and the sex is hot! I really enjoyed this book and I can’t wait for the next one! Characters: The characters were well written and believable. Sex: oh yeah Religious: no Would I recommend to others: yes More than one book in the series: yes Genre: BDSM, M/F/M, Romance Would I read more by this author: yes ~Wicked Reads Review Team~
Holy mind blown here! I had some idea that this book would be focused on the drama of Liam's ex wife reentering the picture but boy did I not see that coming. I kept waiting for the other shoe to drop with Raine's father but WOW. So again, I found myself wanting to give Liam and Hammer a smack upside the head for some of their actions but they led to the plot line of the story so I can't really fault that. If they hadn't had those moments the story wouldn't have been as good. I can't even begin to find the words to describe the ending. I saw some kind of altercation but I didn't see things ending the way they did. Poor Raine and how will this effect her willingness to trust and communicate moving forward. Lastly, how will the pregnancy affect this budding relationship? ARGH!! I need book 4!!!

This is why Shayla Black may be my favorite author. I loved the Bold and The Dominant. It literally picks up right where The Young & The Submissive leaves off. This book was so compelling. I found myself captivated by several parts (when Hammer scenes with Raine, when Raine makes love to Liam, when Raine battles her father) I could not put this book down. It was a fantastic addition to The Doms of Her Life series. I can barely sit still to wait for the conclusion. 5 Stellar stars!
What a crappy 48 hours Liam, Hammer & Raine have has to endure (and that putting it mildly) I'm still team Liam but Hammer has grown on me. As for Raine, she is still a pain the the ass but when you get to the end of this book she has every right to be and it's understandable.
I would say these three authors have saved the best for last, but hey guess what? There's another book in the series, Doms of Her Life Series is The Edge of Dominance, Book 4.
This series grabbed a hold of me and will not let go. I'm on the edge of my seat with every book, and I absolutely love it. The characters have come such a huge way from the first in the series, and I feel so proud of them all. The cliffhanger alone is making the short wait until the fourth book feel like an eternity.
I loved this story. I cannot wait to read the next one!
Raine, Liam and Hammer finally are getting things back on track when Liam's ex shows up. She causes all kinds of trouble. The men decide not to tell Raine what's going on but when she stumbles onto Gwyneth and the baby, she starts freaking out. Trouble from another person from the past almost ends everything.
Absolutely 100% outstanding! This third, full length, book captures the trust that a menage relationships must endure. Raine, Liam and Hammer will need to communicate more than ever. They will need trust and honesty to pull them through the storm that's brewing. Another amazing cliffhanger has me itchy for book 4. A MUST READ!
Wow, I dont think I have the words to describe this book. Talk about pulling on my emotional strings. I’m in awe of Raines strength to overcome whatever life throws at her. The devotion and love that she has towards Liam and Macen and how those two men love Raine with all their heart. I’m still secretly team Liam.
There's one more in this series...but I'm done. The characters are not engaging - Macen, Liam, and Raine just come off as wooden and too wrapped up in the angst / not communicative enough to be in a menage relationship. WTH, I can't see them in a traditional relationship. The fact that this ends on a semi-cliffhanger. Done. Read it for the smoking hot erotic scenes and skip the filler.
