Weary of fighting, Lucas wants nothing more than to return to Shangri-La and the arms of Sierra. But circumstances conspire against him, and he soon finds himself embroiled in a war he wanted no part of while his loved ones are imperiled by ruthless adversaries who want them dead. The latest installment of The Day After Never series continues in the tradition of the earlier novels, with twists, reversals, and surprises aplenty. Fans of The Road, The Perseid Collapse, and Home are sure to love the trials and tribulations of Lucas Shaw in a post-apocalyptic wasteland.

What a listen! Each episode has consistently had new heart-pounding new twist which keeps this series fresh and exciting. Can't wait till #8 is released on audible. This series is remarkable. :)

Lucas Shaw wants nothing more than to go home and be with Sierra and the kids. He keeps getting sucked into battles keeping him on the west coast. When Shangri-La is attacked he is away in one of these fights and unaware of the danger to his family. With no reliable outside contact neither Lucas or the folks in Shangri-La know anything about the Crew and their plans. It seems nothing is settled and no one can feel safe.

Blake's seventh novel in The Day After Never series, Havoc - Post-Apocalyptic Dystopian Thriller is another fast-paced, hard-hitting story. There seems to be no peace for anyone. New enemies emerge while others try to reestablish themselves.

I found myself immediately sucked into the book. Blake has a way of piquing your interest and teasing you with more. There’s definitely room for at least another 2 or 3 novels in this series. I hope that he doesn’t stop any time soon.

5 out of 5 stars.

Read all of the books in order to really enjoy. Characters are realistic and get better and better. Storyline continues to grow and develop.

Getting too drawn out

The first few books in the series were good, violent but I still enjoyed reading them. Now it’s the same thing over and over. Look for bad guys, find bad guys, kill bad guys.... rinse, repeat. More gangsters... kill them. More Chinese... kill them. The storylines have stalled and it’s just the same group of people moving from one place to the next killing. I guess I just like more interesting characters with personal stories and not so much violent. I really hate not finishing a series because I want to find out what happens to characters I’ve invested so much time in but if I didn’t have kindle unlimited and could read all the books without spending money I wouldn’t.

Lucas leads a small army to take over Eugene, and then returns to the Oregon coast to fight the Chinese in Astoria, and then after sailing up the coast, in Seattle. Sierra's daughter Eve is kidnapped by evil cultists in Denver, which sets the stage for a continued battle between the forces of Shangri La and Denver. In Laredo Snakes Crew is beaten back by Mexican cartel troops, and the Illuminati support seems to evaporate for him.

This is an exciting adventure filled episode of Lucas's continuing adventures in the Day after Never series. It's a return to form, after a couple of less satisfying episodes.

Another good one from Blake!

I really enjoy Blake's character development! He keeps you reading to see what happens next. I didn't think I would care too much for the whole "Apocalyptic Dystopian" type book but Russell Blake proved me wrong. Now I'm waiting on the next Jet installment! If you haven't read the Jet series, get it now! Settle in with some snacks and liquid libations cause you are gonna be there awhile!!!

This is book 7 in the never ending series of the end of civilization . Lucas one of the main characters has killed so many people , I have lost count. The leader of the Biker gang Snake, continues to be a threat, the nuclear plant leaking radioactive waste in the water supply and the Chinese army invading the North West, he can't get ahead. I like the story but it is dragging on and i feel like there is no end.

The Day After Never-Havoc. Russell Blake

A world in disarray. And to further compound the problem, the Chinese have decided to invade. Their country is in shambles too. The world is in turmoil. The fight to survive is strong . This is a stunning and amazing read of survival, bravery and sacrifice. Enjoyed immensely!

Time to End This Already

I skimmed the last half of the book. The best parts involved Duke, Arnold, Julie (badass!) and Eve. The rest was just blood and guts. I knew the overall story couldn’t be wrapped up in this book...Lucas still has to beat the Illuminati. But, damn, it’s time for a happily ever after for Lucas, Sierra, Eve, Tim, and the rest.

I love Russell Blake's writing! He includes just enough detail to make his stories very credible, and his character development is outstanding. Like Clive Cussler, he jumps back and forth between characters a chapter at a time, and always leaves you hanging until the last several chapters, when it all comes together in a shattering climax! Really cool!

Blake doesn't disappoint!

Driven from their home, they settle in a new location. Lucas goes on a long mission to the West coast to free people from enslavement, while a religious cult threatens everyone around them!

Lucas

Awesome series! The Chinese had the manpower and weapons, but lacked guerrilla tactics to win battles. Still haven’t figured out the relationship between them and the Illuminati. Also, Snake is the man for smoking the Illuminati.

Excellent

Five years after a pandemic has decimated the population of earth, the survivors are just trying to carry on. Evil lurks everywhere and the the Illuminati has back ex-cons to control and exploit the innocent, and now they have invited red China to invade the northwest.

Very good. The story continues. Well written and good character building. New ones come in as others die off. I didn’t think it possible to write so many books about the same characters but u was wrong. On to the next one.

Havoc

The series is getting more and more interesting. I just wondering if after all this fighting to keep what they have, if someone of their most trusted friends will sell them out?

Hard hitting constant barrage of action

This series doesn't let up! I'm exhausted after each book. Have you ever stayed up all night playing a video game, until you finally noticed the sun was coming up?
It's like that.

Solid Read

Another good one in the series. The story took some interesting turns and somehow Lucas’ horse continued to evade gunfire. Looking forward to the next one

A gripping story.

While I was in the moment for the majority of the time, there were a few times that I was jolted out by a turn of phrase or a continuity error.
