The Lost and Found Princess

Rate this book
The Princess is indeed lost and found, but mostly this concerns an old woman who longs for "travel and high adventure" and the two companions--a dragon with a (harmless) taste for royalty and a conceited cat--who join her in searching for the princess. The cat's one bright idea is to establish them in the kitchen--not among the other searchers--where they can pick up stray bits of information; and, with the cat congratulating herself and the old lady really using her head, they eventually put together the necessary clues and free the captive Princess. Come time for rewards all around, the cat elects to stay at the castle "and give you good advice," the dragon wants to stick around and "hobnob with royalty," while the old lady wants only to go home--she's traveled and "had enough adventure to last me all my life." Lively doings with some pert dialogue and pointed Wanda Gag-ish pictures.

Short, interesting story. Nothing special though. The woman’s final wish I found rather humorous.

Read it a second time thinking about reading it to my princess-obsessed preschooler and think she will love it!
