When Navy SEAL Operative Luke Kiersey is finally granted leave after five years, he finds himself driving to a house he doesn’t recognize in a town he’s never been to. The house is home to a beautiful woman and a little girl with big blue eyes. Day after day, he drives back only to hide in the shadows and wonder why he can’t seem to walk away from them.
His therapist says it is PTSD.
His handler tells him he’s just not cut out to be part of the civilian world.
Luke can’t help but feel like it’s more.
The dog tags that once hung proudly around his neck, now feel like a collar; leashing him to a life that he fears he didn’t choose. After the terrible things he’s done in the name of freedom, could he possibly be worthy of something as precious as the woman and child he continues to watch?
When the two worlds collide, Luke needs his mind to be stronger than the implant the government placed in his back. They’ve told him he can’t survive without the implant they use to control him, but Luke’s wondering if he can survive without the little girl with big blue eyes and the gorgeous woman she calls mamma.
Andrea spends her time while she's not dreaming up friends and villains alike chasing after her two kids and husband at their home in rural West Virginia. Her guilty pleasures include Reese Cups and reading most of the night.
Yes, the same old 💩 again. 🙄🙄🙄🙄You see, the guy is married has a 3-week-old daughter and is called on a mission. There he suffers an accident, loses his memory and receives hardware that keeps him alive. So he spend the NEXT FIVE YEARS without remembering that he has a wife and daughter. You would expect someone to tell him the truth (after all, I always believed that the armed forces and friends were defenders of HONOR). But what did you think that the people in his job do? What did his best friend do? What would ethical people do? Of course they would tell him that he has a wife and a daughter. But then, we wouldn't have the same story garbage we're used to:
"His phone buzzed from his pocket. When he checked the screen, it was a text from Dean."
“Get laid, get drunk, or if nothing else just relax for once man.”
"Luke laughed at the text and then tossed his cell on the couch. As he stood in front of the windows and watched the ocean waves crash onto the shore, he thought of what Dean had said. Luke didn’t have any intention on picking up some random chick to hook up with; chances were she’d never adhere to his particular tastes in the bedroom. Since Luke couldn’t let anyone know about his hard drive, it made getting laid a bit of a chore. Luke stuck to mostly female soldiers close to him in ranks. They understood his need for secrecy, and they could stand his rougher nature. Luke had become accustomed to restraining the women’s hands- at first out of necessity, and then out of pure love of the control and the pleasure it gave him."🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️
Yes, that was the advice that his best friend gave. The best friend who KNEW HE WAS MARRIED AND HAD A DAUGHTER. That somewhere there is a woman and daughter devastated by the loss of her husband and father. But it's clear that for the whole pathetic plot of amnesia we have the old excuse "We cannot tell him the truth because we dont know how he will react" ho0000w convenient!😒😒😒😒😒 Anyone wouldn't consider this a cheat, since he had lost his memory and just yesterday I read a similar book. And I will say again, some authors forget that those who buy their books are the readers. The characters may not know what's going on, BUT THE READERS KNOW! So, for me? Yes, it's cheating. And of course we cannot get rid of the sexist garbage that the authors insist on promoting because during all this time that he has been with other women, do you think his wife did the same ??? NOP. So, as I said, same old shit here.
“Have you thought about going on a date?” Her mom asked her, brushing off Jen’s annoyed huff.
“No. I do not want to date, Mom. Even if it weren’t for Luke, Bella is too young for me to be dating.”
“You don’t have to bring them around Bella. Just go out and have some fun.”
“It doesn’t sound the least bit fun. It sounds horrifying and exhausting.”
“Oh, honey. Just think about it, will you?”
“I don’t want to give you false hope Mom. One day I’m sure, I’m hoping, I’ll be ready to date. Right now, I just want to focus on Bella and healing.”
😒😒😒😒😒

I truly enjoyed this story, I was worried that I wouldn’t because I knew partly what the synopsis of the story was. I normally jump in the books I read totally blind, I like not knowing what the book is about.
Romantic Navy Suspense with a splash of Sci-Fi. I was worried about the hint of Sci-Fi, but it worked for this story. Andrea Bills kept me on my toes with this. The suspense will have you thirsty for the next chapter. The twist and turns totally blindsided me, I never saw that coming.
Oh Luke! As intimidating he comes across, he is a total mush to those he loves. Don’t mistake that as a weakness because he will hunt you down if you go after those he loves.
First, take a look at this cover, who doesn't love BT? It's great, right? Well, this story is a little mystery, little sci-fi (which by the way, I don't normally read) and it's a love story with a hot Navy Seal. It has a little of everything, but more importantly, it will leave you feeling all the feels and good versus evil, not knowing which will prevail in the end. Andrea Bills writing style is growing with each book she publishes and if she can convince me to read something so far outside my comfort zone, you should take the risk as well.
Hardwired is probably one of my new all time favorite books of 2018! I was completely blown away with this story. I found myself for the first time in my life actually taking the time to slow down and read every word, savor is a better word I should say!
We meet Jen and Bella who are so close and you can actually feel the love she has for her daughter, to me she just isn’t a Mama Bear more like a Mama Shark! She will protect her daughter with everything in her. She is a hero in my eyes and so so strong!
Luke, what can i say, you will instantly fall in love with him, you can feel his anguish to be a soldier and a being the man he’s suppose to be.
This book will take you on a wild ride, like it did me! You won’t be disappointed at all! I was literally holding my breath through the entire book! Andrea wrote in my eyes a beautifully written book which I believe everyone should wanna read!
Luke Kiersey doesn’t remember much before a near-death encounter overseas five years ago. He woke with a computer implanted in his back that literally kept him alive, and a debt to his country he could never repay.
Trained to become one of the deadliest assassins in the United States Navy, Luke is more machine than man.
Until a chance encounter triggers memories of his past.
Jen Kiersey has a counter full of unpaid bills and a hole in her heart from the death of her husband when her daughter was an infant. It’s not easy juggling a five-year-old with a demanding job and sometimes the loneliness gets overwhelming.
Until a tall stranger saves them from an intruder. Her not-so-dead husband.
Furious at the lies he’s been told, Luke tries to walk away from a government with its own hidden agenda, but learns the hard way it won’t be easy.
This book had an interesting concept and some twists I didn’t see coming.
One of my favorite lines between Luke and his daughter:
“Sometimes when I lose my favorite stuffy, Mamma makes me go back to where I last remember having it to help me find it. Maybe that would help you. Do you remember us at all?”
“I think that’s a really good idea, Bella. Maybe I can try that.”
“Uh, Daddy?”
“Yes?” Luke responded, hoping he didn’t sound as uncomfortable as he felt at being called that.
“I have to go potty.” Bills, Andrea. Hardwired (The Brotherhood Series) (p. 112). Kindle Edition. And between Luke and Jen:
Luke covered her small hands with his, afraid she would disappear. “Sometimes I’m afraid you’re just an illusion. As if my PTSD has conjured this all up in my head.” Bills, Andrea. Hardwired (The Brotherhood Series) (p. 137). Kindle Edition.
I give Hardwired 4 lovely kisses- an entertaining read!

This emotional military read has suspense you will cry and you will def throw your device because some things happen and your like omg! Will luke come home to his family? Another emotional read by Andrea and a good one! Pick this one up if you like navy seals and suspense and love!
An awesome emotional read about a hot navy seal!!! Ashley @Carolina Chic’s Read
Hardwired was an emotional roller coaster which had me in tears in the begging and in the end! I read this book in one day because it was that good and kept me wanting to read! A romantic suspense with a little sci-fi mixed in makes this for a great story. A navy seal love story of Luke, a seal who can’t remember his past. He is controlled by the government and when he takes leave and finds a little girl and her momma that have got a hold of his heart. He has to figure out if he can live without them. This story is one of love, loss and finding love again. Andrea did an awesome job of keeping this story interesting and entertaining.
This was my first book by Andrea - the blurb had me intrigued, a military read which I don't read too many of, but this one looked really good - and it totally was, I really enjoyed it!
At the start of the book we meet Luke with his wife Jen and their new baby girl Bella, he was going on his last Seal mission before returning home to civilian life, but he never returned.
Fast forward 5 years to today, Luke is alive and still working as a Seal Operative, but has been enhanced with a special hard drive in his spine, supposedly the only thing now keeping him alive, but with no memories of his past existence. He is taking his first vacation and finds himself in a town by the sea he's never been to, watching the mum and daughter who live next door, unable to get rid of the idea that he has a connection with these two people.
It's a good story line, lots of drama and suspense, with twists and turns in the plot that you just don't see coming. I was on the edge of my seat turning those pages over!
Luke is very alpha as you would expect, he is a killing machine and has done unspeakable things, but when it comes to Jen and Bella there is nothing he would not do for them. You can feel his anguish and despair at being what he now is and not the husband and dad he was meant to be. I really felt for him when he was battling his amnesia and having flashbacks, fighting the machinery that had been put inside his body to remember his past.
Jen is a heck of a mum to Bella, a very protective Mama Bear who would do anything for her little girl. Bella is just as sweet as can be, and her connection with Luke was just wonderful, seeing him through her innocent eyes.
This was quite an emotional roller coaster of a read, especially when they are reunited and Jen realises who Luke is. I'm glad I read this one, it was definitely worth the read.
This is the first book I have ever read of Andrea Bills and I most say that she is now on my favorite authors' list, and I'm quite excited for when I can get her other books (once I have a job and more money). I have a lot of things to say about this book and I'm very excited to share it with all of you.
First of all, this was an amazing romance book. There were a lot of elements in this story that I loved. From the characters to the plot... From the the romance to the drama... Military man, single mom, second chances, mysteries, action and lot of chemistry between Luke and Jen. Plus, there is the little cute Bella that just made the book sweet.
With the action, I couldn't put the book down and I felt like I was there, trying to run away with the characters and help them out. Each time Luke got one more memory made my heart full of happiness, and each time Luke, Jen and Bella interacted was so much fun and got me so excited.
Despite all the drama, the past and the running away, it it wasn't all fast paced moments, there were some sweet, slower, daily routine scenes that were a good balance to the jumping, running, fighting, fearing parts of the plot. And that equilibrium took the book to another level. Then again, it had that suspense and military aspect and if the book didn't have a bit of action, it would be disappointing.
Andrea did an amazing job with now only the descriptions but also with the suspense aspect. She took us on a journey and left us sometimes unsure with whom the Luke and Jen should trust. Until the very end there were twists and turns that left me curious about the future.
Another aspect I liked in this book was the technology, it gave the book a different depth and it gave the plot an all new path, but creating suspense and action. Plus... Imagine what other things could happen if other soldiers turned out like Luke, and end up hardwired? I would pay to read any book if Andrea Bills every writes other books in this "fictional" world. Nevertheless, I'm very happy with this one as it is.
I'm happy I volunteered to read this book and reviewed it, because it was one of my favorites military romances I have read in a while. Now I hope she gets to give Dean and Kip their own books, because I was quite intrigued by them. Also... all those information in the end... and the possibility for more... I have no idea if this will turn it to a series, but no matter what you can count on seeing reviews of Andrea's other books (past and future books).
[I want to thank Xpresso Book Tours and Andrea for the eCopy of this book in exchange for my honest review, and for allowing me to participate in this blog tour.]
It's exciting when an author comes into your life offering you a storyline that you would not normally read and you end up loving it. This is the case for me with Hardwired by Andrea Bills. I have never read a book with this type of storyline and I would like to thank Andrea for popping my cherry on this one. Hardwired is both imaginative and original.
It did not take much for me to start swooning over Luke, being the hot, sexy navy SEAL that he is. Add a broken-hearted substitute teacher by the name of Jen to the mix, and things start to heat up. I loved how Andrea played this story out, especially since I did not know what to expect!
Andrea kept me wrapped up in Hardwired right until the very last page. This book has a little bit of everything from romance, to heartbreak, to a good old cat-and-mouse game and of course HEAT, because you cannot have a hot Navy SEAL without steaming up your reader!
After reading Hardwired, the only thing I was left wanting is Dean's story ❤️
This is not the normal military love story. Luke was leaving his wife Jen and baby Bella to go on his last mission, only he was hurt, amnesia. They picked Luke to be a secret ginny piggy, so if it not work the government know nothing. Jen was told Luke died in active duty. Luke was sent on vacation, it just happened he rented the house next door to his wife and daughter. The small things like hearing Jen sand Bella names, seeing them Luke memories start doing flashes. Then one night Luke hears Jen scream someone is in her house Luke breaks in to protect them. Luke gets burner phones for them to talk he told them if they ever needed help get him on that phone he would be there. Luke handler Dean, ends up saving Luke and his family. At the end Jen finds out she is pregnant with baby #2 with Luke, they live happy together. (Spoiler)

Luke has no memory before he was injured but see Jen and her daughter Bella seems familiar. Seal turned special operative Luke is taking some time off for the first time in five years and because her loves the water he has arranged for a beach cottage. Next door the is a mother Jen and her young daughter Bella who for some reason he feels protective of them. When he hear a scream he runs into her house and finds her being attacked by a man dressed in black. He struggles with him and kills him and tells her to call the police. His suspicions are raised as he had told his handler and doctor about her. He manages to not kill them all but sends back a message with them that anymore attacks and he will be going after all involved. When he take off his hat Jen and Bella react in recognition As a safety measure they go on the run to a safe house. A SEAL romance to relax and enjoy.

I have to admit this book took me for one hell of a ride (which I most definitely enjoyed!) I mean, who doesn’t love a badass hot Navy Seal? I know I do but, in this book you’ll want to rip your hair out as each event unfolds, you think it’s going to go one way and BAM nope, we’re going the other way, but I can promise you that you won’t want to put the book down! I fell in love with Luke from the very beginning and I literally felt my heart drop at everything that was thrown his way! Jen is one strong mama bear and can definitely hold her own! So if you love romance with a twist of sci-fi, you will so love this book! Andrea NEVER fails to deliver and that’s exactly what she did with this book! I can’t wait to see what else she has in store for us!
OMG this book was AMAZING! At first I was nervous to read it because sci-fi isn't really my reading thing. I have read some but this book was nothing like I expected and I am so grateful for that.
Luke oh my Luke where do I begin..... He is a dedicated man to his family and job. His work is his life so on this last mission he gives his all with a small price to pay. So after the mission is done he is told to take a break. Go out see his family and do normal everyday things but what is normal. Luke has no idea because he has been doing anything but normal on his missions so it is tough for him to get back into the swing of things.
Can Luke every do normal? Will his family see him again? How will he deal with his growing unease about his work and where it is leading him?
This is the first book by Ms Bills that I have read and if this book is representative of her writing, I will be adding her to my favorite authors list.
While I know there are a lot of Seal romance books out there, I think I can say there are no others like this one. The story is completely unique and grabbed my attention from chapter 1. The story had interesting twists that I did not expect and kept my interest throughout. I definitely recommend this book to any romance lover. I also look forward to a followup with Luke's Friend Dean's story which would give us updates on Luke (Hint Hint Andrea).
What can I say about this book? First, it wasn't anything like I expected, because I'm going to be honest I wanted this book based on the cover alone. Initially I wasn't sure I could get through the book(this had nothing to do with the writing but my days mind), but then it happened, the turning point where I absolutely had to know what happened, who, where what, when. I couldn't stop reading. I had to know. This isn't a typical military read like you'd expect, but that's the beauty of it, the twist. I won't tell you the twist, but I will say read it, take a chance, fall in love with Luke and Jen. ~A Wild About Romance Review
Absolutely love finding a new author, especially when they are creative and innovative. Andrea took a military romance and sprinkled a dash of sci-fi (not really a fan of), but she shut me up with this book. Everything clicked perfectly and I now know how a moth can be attracted to a flame because this flame hooked me and didn't let me go. It's emotional and just so good!
I loved the entire cast of characters who felt so real. I connected with them and felt every bump they took and the high that the power of undying love has. Looking for something fresh, smart and unique? Grab HARDWIRED today. I received an ARC for an honest and voluntarily review.
Andrea Bills is a new to me author. Hardwired is about a love lost, Navy Seal life, and finding a way back. It’s definitely a page turner filled with suspense and a plenty of romance.
Luke is a Navy Seal on leave to recoup for his next mission. For the past few years, he feels something is missing on his life. But he can’t remember what it is and all he knows is the Seals.
Jen is a substitute teacher and a “single” mother. She is doing everything to pay their bills and stay above water. She is trying to get over her one true love, but it’s hard when she can’t let go.
Jen and Luke were married until his last deployment five years prior. Jen believes she had lost her husband and Luke doesn’t know he has a wife and child. Between his last mission and now, it’s all blank. All Luke knows is the Seals and how to defeat the targets he’s sent after. He’s literally programmed that way. While on ROR, he stays at a beach house, that happens to be next to Jen. Something about her calls to him.
Will Luke remember her? How will Jen react when she sees him after so long? What made him this way?
This book was a good one. I recommend to those who like to read about finding a lost love.
A fabulous engaging well written romantic suspense with a little mechanical add. It is exciting, action packed, fast paced, and filled with twists and turns, in this emotional rollercoster of emotions story. It will hit on love, loss and love again that had me addicted page after page to find out what was going to happen. Jen moves to a quite town with her 5 year old daughter after she losses her husband on a mission in the Navy military. Luke has become an experimental soldier that has been given the ability to walk and talk again but has had his memories before his accident wipe. 5 years he has been an assaian for the government and has been finally given look leave for a week to himself. Something is happening to him and when he comes face to face with his neighbor Jen it all hits home. As he fights to reconnect with his family and the government not willing to let him go had me biting my nails in suspense. A must read. The epilogue will wrap up the story but leave room for the possibility of more to the series.

This is the first book by this author that I've read but I definitely plan on reading more of her books.
While this is a Navy SEAL book, it does have a storyline that is different from other SEAL books I've read. From the romance and HEAT between Luke and Jen, to the unexpected turns the story takes, to not knowing who to trust, and the suspense of whether they will can be a family again - this book has it all.
Hopefully this is the start of a series and we'll get to read Dean's story next.
This book has me in my feelings. I couldn't imagine being Jen and losing your soul mate and raising a child without him. And I dont know what to say about Luke but the heart and mind always knows. This book and my favorite things a good love story and some fighting. And it was paired perfectly. Andrea characters always work their way into your heart and these did just that. I hope we get more of Kip and Dean because I see a story there!! And to sum up Jen's words a man's family will always be a reason for him to fight for something. I loved this book and this author.
I was given an advanced reader's copy and am voluntarily leaving my review. This book pulls at your heart but also opens your eyes to alot. I just love Luke, Jen, and Bella. The love that Jen has for Luke is priceless. Luke's love is endless. This is a MUST READ and ONE-CLICK. I could not put this book down until I found out what happened to Luke. I learned a lot about what our veterans with PTSD live with daily. Andrea Bills writes such great books.
What can I say about Jen and Luke other then this was quite a ride. This was a great read from Luke realizing something wasn't quite right to Jen never giving up hope. Then with the help from Dean and Kip(who both need their own books) fighting for their happily ever after. This was the first book I have read by this author and it will not be the last. Loved this story.

I just loved this book I was pulled right into Jen and Luke's book right from the start. This is a pretty emotional read at times it had me in tears my heart just broke for Jen so do not forget the tissues. Luke is a Seal he kisses his wife and child goodbye to go on his last mission but it goes wrong and he is declared dead but what Jen does not know is that he is still alive but had amnesia will they find their way back to each other you will have to read to find out
Luke and Jen are married and have a small baby when he's sent away on one last military mission. Unfortunately he doesn't come home. What will happen when Luke appears in the night the save Jen but has no memory of who she is? This is a great book and I was flipping pages fast to see who the culprit was that took Luke from Jen. I never would've guessed. The plot twist and ending was incredible

I love a good Navy Seal story and this did not disappoint. Great characters and tear-jerker scenes. Unexpected plot twists and oh my “I didn’t see that coming” moments. Very believable technology additions. Over all a very good read.
