Hudson and Lennon's story continues in the gripping conclusion to the Tequila Duet!

It was destiny-- the night I met Hudson Demasi.
I remember how effortlessly he stole my heart- his dark eyes and quick smile forever etched into my mind.
We spent one incredible night together under a haze of tequila- a perfect night.
And when I woke the next day, he was gone…

I never expected to see him again. Years passed and with it, life went on.
Until one day there he was- standing in front of me like no time had passed at all.

He’s determined to remedy his mistakes.
I’m determined to let him try.
Because even though I know I should walk away- the urge to feel the burn is just too strong.

Tequila Burn is the second book in the two part Tequila Duet.
You must read Tequila Haze before reading Tequila Burn.

I am between 3 and 4 stars for Tequila Burn. I decided to setlle to 4 stars. Was it good? Well it is OK read actually. What i really like from this book is how Miss Toppen brings to live a fear and insecure in all of us when we found that perfect someone.

What I do not like is how fast everything resolved. I even feel Hudson and Lennon are both indifference toward what happened around them.

But again, looking back at Miss Toppen signature writing, I guess I am not surprise to find this book is mild on drama. So I just enjoyed how it is.

Hudson & Lennon. Book 2of 2. Mostly told from Lennon's POV. It ends with a HEA and an epilogue.

Book 2 picks up where Book 1 left off. Lennon quickly forgives Hudson and they begin the difficult task of keeping a relationship alive and thriving when trust is a factor. Hudson’s singing career has taken off, so he needs to go on an 8 month tour with another female artist which puts their relationship to the test.

I thought Lennon was a little bit of a Debbie Downer and wasn’t the same fun, upbeat girl we met in Book 1. She was plagued with doubts and fears about whether they could actually survive an 8 month tour and the reader constantly read about her insecurities. She did flip flop some as one minute she would think their love was enough to get them through and the next minute she was consumed with jealousy. She wasn’t even reading the gossip rags, so there wasn’t anything that she was seeing that would trigger her to flip the other way and start questioning their relationship again. She let her fears and doubts weigh her down and chapter after chapter that’s what we got from her.

Of course, her mom was of no support throughout the series really. I really wanted to slap her mouth shut as she offered her sage advice.............

"How long before his interest starts to stray? Men can only take so much temptation, especially when it’s thrown in your face day in and day out.”

And on Christmas, good ole mom says this

“I’m worried you’re blinded by his fame and good looks and you’re not seeing the bigger picture.”
“Which is what exactly?” I snip, irritation clear in my voice. Leave it to Elise Claire to rain on the Christmas Parade.
“That he’s a famous musician, sweetie. That he’s been gone for weeks and will be gone for many more. That you have no idea what he’s really doing while he’s on the road.”

Wow. Her mom was definitely not in her corner and only accomplished feeding Lennon’s doubts. Her sister on the other hand, offered support and some good advice.

“Don’t waste it focused on someone or something you can’t control. Annabelle is not in your control. You can’t stop her from flirting with Hudson or from even throwing herself at him. What you can control is the trust and love you have for Hudson. You have to know he would never betray you that way.”

Because Lennon could really only focus on the negative, she annoyed me in this book. I get that she would be threatened by Annabelle and feel inadequate, but c’mon. Believe in your man!! How many times does a guy have to show over and over that he’s not into anyone else and is not going to cheat. I felt like Hudson had to constantly defend himself and since the incident at the beginning of the book, he had given her zero reason to doubt his commitment.

So you may realize that this review is mostly about Lennon’s side of the story and that’s because the book is mostly told from her POV. I think there are maybe 2 short chapters from Hudson’s POV. Therefore, the reader is rather clueless about what he really is thinking and doing. I’m not a fan of a one person POV for this exact reason. I like to know what both are thinking.

Overall, I liked the first Book better than the second as I felt Lennon was her own worst enemy in this book. I got tired of reading about her doubts and insecurities and I just wanted her to believe that they had what it would take to survive separation and temptation. The secondary characters added to the story, and besides the unsupportive mother, I liked them. Hudson was yummy, yummy, yummy!!

Quotes:
“Hudson has opened me up to someone I always knew I was but hesitant to embrace. With him there are no boundaries, no limits. With him I am free.”

“But then I met you and I realized it’s not about the music, it’s about what inspires the music. And you, Lennon, you are what inspires the music. What inspires me. You are what matters. None of it means a single thing without you.”

"I know I don't deserve your forgiveness but I'm hoping you'll choose to give it to me anyway, because you are the one I can see forever with. You f*cking own me...This is yours. I AM YOURS."

The intensity of the feelings that I had while reading this book threw me into a tailspin of dizzying and copious amounts of profanity, content sighs, and true enough, happy and frustrated tears. LEGIT TEARS. This one will rip you up one side and soothe down the other and you will love every minute. This is a journey with a couple that you never saw coming...you want them to make it so hard because their love is crazy strong but when the doubts and the obstacles keep coming, you don't know if it will happen. I fell in love with Hudson and never wanted their story to end!! Must read, no doubt!! I thank the Author for providing a copy to review!!

"That's what he does to me. One touch and I feel like I'm reading to come undone. One kiss and my entire body aches for him. He consumes me in the best way possible..."

First of all, I would like to thank the author for giving me this book along with the first because book one ended with a cliffhanger. It was very kind of her and in my mind, she got points for that. I liked tequila burn less than I liked tequila haze because Lennon kept getting on my nerves. She tired me and I couldn't understand why she was acting like that for most of the book. She kept doubting Hudson and it drove me insane because Hudson was always proving that he was devoted and in love with her. She was full of insecurities from the first 'till the last page and to be honest I was starting to hate her a little. They spend too much time apart for no reason. If we could have just kept Hudson and got rid of Lennon, I would have been very happy. Despite my not so good thoughts for the heroine, I plan on reading more book by this author.

Now this is what I’m talking about! Granted it was predictable and I definitely could’ve used more angst but it was oh so good.

Hudson and Lennon continue their problems from the end of the first book and things are settled too quickly for my liking but then there is the big drama. It was tough and I can see both sides although I was disappointed with Hudson.

However, that ending made up for it. *Swoon*

This is part 2.
It is a very angst story.
I have read reviews and there seems to be some criticism for the heroine over her insecurity of their relationship.
I have to be honest, I felt for her.

She's had a bad experience with her ex, Hudson lied by omission about his "wife".
Hudson is away a lot and spending a lot of time with Anna.

Anna has made it clear, women speak, that she wants him, others have noticed, others have commented on her history in similar situations, he learns how his girlfriend feels about it, makes a conscience effort to distance himself by spending the night in her hotel room after she cries and begs not to be alone.

He says he slept in the chair, which okay but it's totally unacceptable.
The heroine says
"Hudson continued to hang out with Annabelle in their free time even though he knew it made me uncomfortable. Maybe it was unfair of me to expect him not to, but if the roles were reversed I would have done anything to ease his doubt and worry. He was more concerned with her feelings, with how lonely she was, and how he didn’t have it in him to not be there for her. That he completely neglected me and how I was feeling. Maybe this is my fault. Maybe I’m the crazy jealous one that couldn’t reel in my feelings. But at the end of the day I shouldn’t have to. I should always come first and let’s be honest, Colton, he never put me first."

Yes he's bought them a house but money means little to him so it doesn't really mean much.

I really felt for her.

Regardless of his lack of feelings towards Anna if it bothered her then do as much as you can to help not make it worse.
Very angst.
HEA.
I would have liked a confrontation with Anna, telling her straight where she stood.

This book just kept getting better! The beginning picks up where Tequila Haze left off. I think the author did a great job of telling the life of a country music star, especially how it's not easy making a relationship work. Hudson goes on tour where he is faced with temptation and the label is telling him to act a certain way. Lennon deals with jealousy and insecurity. They really struggle with how they are feeling from being away from one another for long periods at a time. They fight and make up! There is plenty of love, forgiveness and hot sex in this story!! I really did enjoy this duet.

Hudson and Lennon are a couple to be read. This duet is beautiful and I am happy to add Melissa to my go-to authors. This book brought the duet to a whole nother level. It has an array of emotions that it was sometimes hard to keep up. I had to stop reading so that I could take a breather and come back. If you have any time at all READ THIS DUET! Loved it.

I absolutely LOVED this book as well as the first one in this duet! I'm just going to leave this review similar to my review of Tequila Haze, because I don't want to chance giving anything away! There is nothing this book doesn't have! It's the whole package! Independent woman, great BFF, amazing one-night stand (or is it??), and a little fate.
The writing, grammar, character development, and flow of the whole story is on point all the way through! Even the supporting characters are amazing!
You don't want to miss this!

⭐️ 4.5 "Song Worthy Love" Stars ⭐️
After the way Melissa Toppen ended Tequila Haze on a suspenseful cliffhanger, I was extremely eager to dive into Tequila Burn. Lennon and Hudson’s love story is exquisite!

“You’ve got me, Lennon Claire. As long as you want me I’m yours.”

This second installment faced this couple with a lot of hardship! While they love each other profoundly, Hudson being on tour for months brings fragility into this new relationship. Lennon struggles with being away from him and trusting him. The fact he’s touring with a sexy female singer only makes things worse.

I really enjoyed, how time and time again Hudson goes way beyond to make Lennon feel his powerful love for her. This man is simply so caring and attentive! But the distance and loneliness slowly creates cracks in their perfect love story. They try to hold on to their relationship making some moments truly poignant and agonizing!

“He’s a part of my very core. Engraved so deeply into my heart that I couldn’t get rid of him even if I tried.”

Tequila Burn is such the perfect conclusion to this duet. Melissa Toppen gave me all the feels with this lovely couple!

I couldn’t wait for the conclusion of Hudson and Lennon’s love story and I wasn’t disappointed. But damn it these two couldn’t catch a break. After that gasping cliffhanger in Book 1 I thought oh no what now. That issue was resolved pretty quickly and they continued where they left off. But of course this was too good to be true.

Lennon and Hudson had another misunderstanding which had my heart breaking for both of them. Hudson always tried everything to make sure she knew how much he loved her but something or someone wax always interfering. It seemed like it would be far from these two getting their HEA. But then Lennon finally opened her eyes and saw what was always there. Poor Hudson never stopped loving her and finally decided that she was more important than anything or anyone else.

That epilogue?! Priceless, ❤️

Tequila Burn is the second book in the Tequila Duet and Melissa Toppen gave us a wonderful conclusion to this story. After the dramatic cliff-hanger from book 1 this book continues seamlessly with Lennon and Hudson's story.
This story was emotional and angsty. Its a story about relationships and jealously and trust are major issues in this story. In true Melissa Toppen style you will experience all the feels here as you take this journey with Hudson and Lennon.
This was a fantastic read. I really enjoyed this novel and would highly recommend it.

Tequila Burn was the perfect conclusion to Tequila Haze!

Hudson, country superstar & Lennon, the girl who loves him, are faced with the struggles of making a new relationship work while being apart for most of it. There are real fears stopping them from making it work, even though all either of them want is to be together.

There are loads of ups and downs. Tears and fears. Even heartbreak that will have you cry a little. But in the end, their HEA isn’t gone for good.

Is it?

This is book is the conclusion to the Tequila Duet and is not a standalone. In terms of this one....wow! After the drama at the end of Tequila Haze I could not wait to dive into this one! Hudson's secret was huge and their love so new! Thankfully, this particular issue was resolved fairly quickly.
The main content of this book is the navigation of the relationship. There is love. No doubt about it. But is it love always enough? That's the bigger question. At this point, Hudson is a country music star. Touring, personal appearances. and other career obligations separate him geographically from our heroine, Lennon. She struggles internally with feelings of insecurity, jealousy, and inadequacy. I felt her struggle. It was real. Often it was justified. How do you deal with having a boyfriend who is a superstar when have a normal life? How do you fit into his world and is it even possible? Lennon wants to maintain her sense of self, her career, her friends....and she wrestles to balance these things when part of her would like nothing more than to travel across the country with her man. Many of her feelings stem from her experiences with her ex and Hudson's secret. What else could he be hiding? is something she can't help but ask herself.
Some angst and misunderstandings help Lennon discover what she really wants and needs. And she finds peace within herself regarding the decisions she makes at the end. I loved her journey and Hudson is a great hero. I never doubted his devotion to Lennon. Not for a moment.
Great duet from Melissa Toppen! I will definitely be reading more of her books in the future.

Review for both books...

A non spoiler review....

From the moment they met it was an undeniable attraction.
From many bumps in the road, to a relationship that bloomed into a beautiful love. Oh and let’s not forget the tequila shots because there were many.
I adored Hudson, he has this way about him that’s comforting and real. He wasn’t that cocky arrogant singer many hate or hate to love, however he was a man of his word, he was a man of talent and a man that will protect you without limits. His protective nature is what drew me in. Lennon for me was a wild card, jealousy for me is a turn off but with the realistic situations it worked. I personally wouldn’t deal but then again it’s a story and it was written the way it should have been. I adored these books, I Love the slow burn, it oozed anticipation.
Hot sex, humor, a nana with no filter. (She’s pretty fantastic and hilarious.) friendships and loyalties. The story had it all. But what did it for me? The gut wrenching stab me in the heart omg what are you doing to me scene. I literally sobbed like a lunatic. You won’t be able to keep your heart from breaking a million times over.
Another emotional yet stimulating page turner, with LOL moments that will have you crying with laughter.

If you're looking for a story that will take you on a rollercoaster of emotions, look no further.

After the cliffhanger in the first book, I couldn't get my hands on this one fast enough. Although I understand why it happened, I felt the guilty party was forgiven too quickly and I wanted some more groveling. Although it may seem brushed under the rug, the lingering doubts left behind continue to manifest and compound on itself until their world implodes. Unlike the first book, the angst was pretty high and it had all the feels. I felt for both characters and how they were between a rock and a hard place. They were both in the wrong, one more so than the other, but I couldn't help but love them anyway. There is some heavy heartache that occurs but the HEA was perfection.

There are a few reasons I couldn't give this 5 stars, even though I loved it, which are explained in the spoiler tag. Do not read unless you really want to know and are okay with major spoilers, especially if you haven't read the first book.

Nice if not completely satisfying...

I adore Lennon and Hudson, I fell in love with their story in Tequila Haze and was eagerly awaiting Tequila Burn. So here are the good and bad...good, Lennon and Hudson still have amazing chemistry. They are madly connected and their story is fantastical as well as believable (the ups and downs of dating a star) but in the end the negatives outweighed the positive for me...making this follow up less than satisfying. My main issue was the trust issue. I understand where the author is coming from...highlighting believable situations where the heroine needs to TRUST and learn to trust the hero implicitly even when the situation seems dire. But what irked me was that the hero continued to put himself in situations that would make ANY partner unsure and upset, and did it even after Lennon repeatedly told him it upset her. If he loved her and respected her as much as he said, he WOULD HAVE taken that into consideration! In the end Lennon is THE ONLY ONE expected to give up her life, and her insecurities to “prove” that she loves Hudson enough, and is “all in.” He gives up nothing...in fact, he doesn’t even apologize to her for spending the night with Anna! Even if it was “innocent” he NEVER should have put himself into that situation in the first place, especially knowing how Lennon felt about her. He continued to think about Anna (her being lonely) over Lennon the girl he supposedly the loved more than anything. I really disliked how in the end it’s Lennon making all the apologies, concessions and “giving in” because “oh she loves him.” Well he says he loves her just as much...soooo where was that love when it mattered? I’m sorry, but a country song written about your lost love IS NOT an apology and a “I’m an inconsiderate jerk, and I stupidly spent time with my handsy co-worker,” no...he NEVER should have been in the position in the first place...and for a 32 yr old to be “that” dense and unaware of the handsy co-workers plans...no...he was being purposefully oblivious because it suited his purpose. Suffice to say, I was counting on Tequila Burn to hammer home how much I loved Hudson...but all it did was make me realize that he was an inconsiderate, dense, not worthy of her, anti-hero. Yes, sadly Tequila Burn just left a bad afterburn in my mouth...

This is the conclusion of the Tequila duet. Love, there are good and bad obstacles in any relationships. Your inner battles are your worst enemy. Hudson and Lennon have to fight for their relationship. They work really hard to make their long distance love work. Hudson is a up and coming country rock star, and its hard being on tour majority of the year while Lennon is at home. Trust is big and it can make or break up the most solid love. I loved the conclusion. I am so in love with Hudson James Demasi. Gosh, that guy. Add this duet to your TBR, its so good...LOOOOVEEEEEEEE!!!!

I liked this one a bit less than the first one.
Main reasons:
Starr; god fucking damn it, can't she just shut her pie hole?
And Lennon with her insecurities, looking for validation, crazy scenes... I get it, but there's a fine line between being jealous and being crazy/pathetic. She was more of the crazy type and I just hated her.

I'm giving it 3,5 stars.

4 'Timing Be Damned' STARS

If you haven't read Tequila Haze check that out first. Go now.

Hudson Demasi—the tight blue-jean wearin' country rock star. Singing isn't the only good thing he does with his mouth. Hudson is a sweet talker and a damn good lover. A real Southern gentleman with a bit of a possessive streak.

But every man has his secrets.
Shit that he would rather avoid until the worst possible moment.
Oh boy does Hudson have some explaining to do.

Timing has never been Hudson and Lennon's strong suit.

Hudson's "secret" hits the fan.
Even a sorta-kinda-half lie of omission can hurt like a bitch.
It lingers much like a dreaded Tequila hangover.

Lennon says she has forgiven Hudson
but she certainly hasn't forgotten.

Hudson is riding the high of his music career. Show after show, thousands and thousands of screaming fans itching to grab his junk. His entire life is on the go-go. Hudson only stops to breathe with Lennon. Living for stolen and incredibly hot, sexy moments on the road.

Jealousy is a crippler, but so is doubt. It makes you question the good—all the things you were so sure of. Doubt is a constant whispering telling you all the reasons not to believe—all the ways you are undeserving and not good enough. It consumes Lennon.

Lennon knows deep in her heart, she knows, Hudson loves her more than anything in the world, but her dreaded wandering mind...wonders if love is enough?

Because at the end of the day, why would Hudson James, the million dollar man that literally could have any woman, choose her—a beautiful, small-town southern girl, with incredibly loving parents, a immature fun-loving sister, ridiculously awesome best friend, and a dirty mouth Nana. Why her?

Lennon no longer recognizes the person she's become. She sees the irrationality in herself, and hates that she can't stop it. Hudson is being torn in every other direction while trying to be everything for Lennon and helplessly falling short every time. Hudson has to prove himself and Lennon can't hear him over the nagging voice in her ear.

They are stuck reliving the same situation. All the emotions, rational and irrational, pile up and eventually explode. Honesty and bad timing are a real painful combination.

They walk away from the one thing they were once so sure of...

Time doesn't heal all wounds.
Even if you drown them in tequila.

Life is too short to wait for the perfect time or the perfect scenario.
Lennon realizes everything she wanted, everything she was waiting for...she always had.
She just had to believe it was enough.

So Why not 5 Stars

I absolutely loved Lennon and Hudson's journey. I felt the love. It gave me goosebumps. Whenever I hear that Tequila song by Dan and Shay I think of these characters.

The sexy time scenes were out of this world—beautifully written and full of all the delicious dirty words and meaningful love and intimacy. And there sure were a lot of sexy time scenes.

The writing and dialogue was great. Secondary characters were also wonderful, but didn't really play a role. The pace was a bit slow, chopper than the first book. The conflict was real weak for me, but I do love my conflict. There were a couple scenes of "conflict" that seemed out of place and were not necessary to the story at all.

The second book is more fluffy and fun than the first. Showing Lennon and Hudson's new normal. I enjoyed it, but it probably could have been shortened.

Overall, their love story came full circle. One of my favorite one night stand romances of all time. It was fun, flirty, sexy, relatable and definitely memorable.

Tequila Burn is part of a duet and book two and you must read book one, Tequila Haze before reading this book. I will warn you after your Tequila hangover is gone that you will need to read these books back to back as they are that good and that cliffy leaves you wanting to either stay drunk or start a fight. Fitting for someone who drinks the hard stuff, huh! Best way to say this to avoid any spoilers.
This book picks up right where it left off from in book one and the secret is revealed that left us wanting to junk punch Hudson. While we get the answers quickly to ease one burn while reading this story, your tummy or heart will continue to burn throughout this whole book. There will be tears, laughter and trust issues to explore. Can the love these two share be enough to remove the Haze and Burn or do they decide that love isn’t enough and we need to feel the Burn all over again? Yeah, so not getting this from me.
This book made you feel and feel so much emotion from joy to sadness to sick feelings plus more. It made you really think and see what famous couples or even army couples go through trying to make a go or no go with a relationship. These secondary characters are great and supportive for the most part and Nana has you laughing your behind off (too funny that old women). I said it in book one and I’ll say it again here, Colton needs his own story. We also need more of this bunch in general so maybe a novella or something would be awesome. You can never drink too much Tequila! OK, maybe you can, but it’s worth it when you step into this world of characters.
Hudson and Lennon’s chemistry and heartache will keep you turning the pages and you don’t want this to end. That ending though, sigh! What you need to determine is was it the good burn or the bad burn from Tequila that you were hoping for? While the story was told from Lennon’s POV with a couple chapters from Hudson, I would have loved to see more on his POV. There’s so much I want to say but won’t (all good) cause that would give clues so all I will say is if you enjoy duets, music reads and intense chemistry than grab this duet and make sure to have some Tequila or your drink of choice on hand after reading this. Inquiring minds want to know who the muse was for some of these characters. Think I may just ask that question when I get to meet this author in July. I highly recommend this duet cause even when we hate Hudson you will love him at the same time.

I loved the conclusion to Lennon & Hudson's story.❤️ It was perfect! I really enjoyed reading/witnessing how Hudson & Lennon navigated their relationship through both of their POVs. Lennon's worries & concerns about if they were going to make it through all the obstacles that they had to face or were thrown at them. I loved how open she was in expressing those feelings to Hudson.❤️ I absolutely loved how honest Hudson was about his feelings and his willingness/desire for Lennon to be open and wanting her to always communicate with him about her worries, etc.😊 I also loved how vulnerable he was and how he didn't shy away from showing that side of himself to Lennon.💜 It was also refreshing to see how human they both were. The mistakes they each made along the way. I loved how they both fixed those mis-steps and because of them it made their love even stronger. 💕 It was amazing to see just how much love, passion and chemistry these two had for each other. 🔥💜😊 I loved being able to see that love come full circle.❤️ I also really enjoyed catching up with the secondary characters. It was great to see all the things that happened in their lives as well.😊 The epilogue was amazing. 💜 It was the perfect way to end this duet.😊 I would definitely recommend this book to any fans of Melissa's writing. They really need to have read "Tequila Haze" first. Otherwise this story will not be truly appreciated. I would also recommend this duet to any fans of Rockstar romance books. 🎸🎤 Hudson is pure gold. 💕😊 I can't wait to see what Melissa writes next. 😊

Hudson and Lennon own a piece of me. Just give me a minute while I recover from this amazing, soul searing, I can't function read. This whole duet needs to be read. I went through an array of emotions throughout it and would not change it for anything. Yes there were times in Tequila Burn that I just put down the kindle and walked away. It's that good. I literally had to stop myself from becoming and emotional mess before putting my kids on the school bus this morning. I never wanted Tequila Burn to end. I love Hudson and Lennon so much. You really do pick up right where Tequila Haze left off. You see the relationship grow. The struggles of trust. The beauty of the power of love. Hudson and Lennon continue to sizzle. As you read on you wonder if they are strong enough for the road. Lennon may have her own issues and things happen that make you want to just hold her tight and tell her to keep strong. But you know what I think in the long run everything that Hudson and Lennon went through needed to happen to make them become even stronger together in the end. If you haven't read Tequila Haze yet you need to do so. THIS BOOK NEEDS TO BE READ. THIS DUET IS A MUST READ. It's a beautiful, heart and soul searing love story that I couldn't put down.

This story begins where Book 1 of the Tequila Duet ended. We feel Lennon’s shock & betrayal in the beginning of the book. She has trust issues due to her last relationship and then finding out Hudson was keeping a major secret from her. So she runs and refuses to talk to Hudson.
Eventually Hudson is able to explain and they make up. He wants to take things slow, because he wants to win her trust but Lennon moves forward quickly.
I felt she was still harboring trust issues and this could make things more complicated later. Which it did.
Hudson’s career is taking off and more touring is expected and he continues to make his and Lennon’s relationship work. They both love each other very much. But not everything goes smoothly. Enter his new tour buddy - Annabelle.
Her and Hudson are touring together and this doesn’t set well with Lennon. And for good reason, seems Annabelle has set her sights on Hudson. But Hudson only has given his heart & body to Lennon.
This story is such a true love story about two people who met one night and never forgot about each other till they met again years later.
Melissa once again brought together two characters and beautifully wrote about true love, passion and heartbreak. I love, loved the epilogue 😍 Great ending to the book.

Tequlia Burn by Melissa Toppen is the second book in the Tequila Duet and the conclusion to Hudson and Lennon´s story.

Tequila Burn picks up where Tequila Haze left off. The book is not a standalone , I strongly recommend to read the books in order.
Hudson´s big secret is about to revealed and that will crush Lennon. He loves her with all of his heart, but sometimes love isn´t enough.
While I really loved the first pasrt of Hudson and Lennon´s story - they´re so great together - this second part has me in knots. They go back and forth, she´s eaten by her feelings. And Hudson made me angry at some point too. He acts like he a clueless teenager. Jealousy and trust are big issues in this story. There are a lot of ups and downs in this story and they have to fight for their love and relationship. One itsy bitsy spoiler: I really really didn´t like how Lennon´s mother acts. I mean, I get it, she´s concerned about Lennon, but nope she shouldn´t have done that.

Tequila Burn is written mostly in Lennon´s POV. I couldn´t wait to get my hands on this second story. I loved the writing and the characters and I give 4 stars.

The night I met Hudson Demasi I smiled at his witty banter and gorgeous smile. I fell for the sexy, teasing man. I fell for the instant chemistry. I fell into the fairytale. But not all fairytales have happy endings and the end of Tequila Haze had me plotting Melissa Toppen's take down. Tonya Harding style. Legit considering best way to approach and execute attack without being obvious.

However, the voice of reason was shouting in my ear. Or Tequila Burn was already present and accounted for on my kindle...Guess which one?

And Burn it did! Tequila Haze was a perfect way to describe both the book and the relationship in the first part of the duet. But Tequila Burn is ....well, what's better than perfect? The burn in this book is so good and so rough. I thought I was the one drinking at a moonshine concert. I have the headache and puffy, red rimmed eyes. I cried and held back my pathetic sobs trying to take it all in. But the angst in this book is palpable, I could feel the knot in my own stomach. The overwhelming sickness and unease that Lennon gets is experienced by the reader.

It is a burn so good.

One million stars!!! Omg this book!! After the first book I was literally dying to know what happened next and omg did Melissa Toppen not disappoint! It is seriously 4 o’clock in the morning and I am just getting done with this book....I couldn’t put it down until it was finished.

Tequila Burn picks up where Tequila Haze left off and holy geez didn’t it leave off with with a hella cliffhanger which brings us to the newest hurdle for them to jump.
After a secret is revealed and the truth comes out they have to find a way forward but this is made harder by Hudson going on tour with a hot little number. Unfortunately Lennon is faced with more than her share of insecurities and is struggling with how to face them.
Hudson doesn’t make things easy but is desperate to show her the lengths he will go for her.

But will they love each other enough to see it through or will they need to give in to the impossibility of their future?

I seriously cannot recommend this duet enough. It had me feeling some kind of way from start to finish! Just for yourself a favor and pick both of them up now and get lost in their amazing story!
