Magic, mystery, and rabies take center stage in this short story that details how Ember Rose met her familiar.
** Please note: This short story previously appeared in the anthology entitled Seven Pets For Seven Witches. The anthology is no longer available. **
One Witch's Trash Panda Is Another Witch's Treasure accompanies the Starry Hollow Witches paranormal cozy mystery series and is best read between Books 4 (Magic & Mayhem) and 5 (Magic & Mercy).

This is a review for the Starry Hollow Witchs books 1 through 6, as I read them all one ofter the other so feel a series review is in place.
This series had a different feel to the Spellbound books. For a start Starry Hollow takes it's place in the world at large and time has continued to move forwards. The magic appears to be different dependant on the users and has a slightly different feel to it. Ember (like Emma in Spellbound) does arrive though from the human world and finds out she is a witch from a rather special family. There she discovers a matriarchal aunt, cousins, nieces and nephews and a whole cast of weird and wonderful townsfolk, including some rather handsome new suitors. Ember and her daughter discover the delights of a new world, along with solving some murder and mayhem on the side. The world is delightful and I recommend these books highly for a spot of light reading that will surely distract from the day to day of reality. Fun and engaging.
This was just a cute little read!! If you're just getting into this series, like I am, the short story anthology which first had this book is no longer available. But, you can get it by going the author's email list.
Loved it but if you have already got Seven Pets for Seven Witches than this one is already in there. Unfortunately I hadn't read the blurb and got caught out. However it is a great little story about the arrival of the Trash Bandit into the Rose family and how he was framed for burglary. A quick coffee break read but with all our favourites from the series and a neat plot that doesn't leave any unanswered questions.
A charming paranormal witchy cozey with colorful characters found in a small town hidden from normal every day people. Two new residents one struggling through a form of culture shock and learning how to master witch craft while the other is soaking it all in. This is written in true cozey form full of intrigue, mayhem , mystery and comedic laughter 🤣. Acquire " One Witch's Trash Panda is Another Witch's Treasure " today for enjoyable entertainment. 😀 Kat
3.5 I thought it was a standalone shot story but it turned out to be related to Starry Hollow which I still have to read so there were parts where I felt lost with so many characters but Marley saved them all. That clever little girl was so funny, I ended up loving her. I'm a huge fan of Annabel Chase's writing. This was a short enjoyable read and thanks to Marley, I want to read more about the Starry Hollow Witches.
This is a fun, short (47 pages), about Ember finally getting her familiar. All the other witches seem to have cats and Ember’s aunt has no doubt the Ember will get one too. Surprise! Ember gets a racoon. Raoul is a suspect in some thefts but because Ember can talk to him mind to mind, she knows he’s innocent. This is a cute little mystery that introduces one of the most interesting familiars I have ever read about.
One Witch's Trash Panda Is Another Witches Treasure
Ember meets an unlikely small animal whose been waiting for her. She can't believe what he is or what he's meant to be to here, neither is her aunt or the town. But she stands up for and defends him. You'll enjoy another really good read by Annabel Chase.
It's a charming little story from Starry Hollow. Ember finally finds her familiar, only it is far from charming. Raoul is a mouthy raccoon and he's topping the list of suspects for recent thefts in the area. With the evidence pointing his way he claims to have no knowledge of the crimes. Looks like Ember is going to have to clear his name! 3 Stars.
A funny short story to go with this great series of a witch who discovers her powers by accident and moved to a supernatural town do you live with long lost family. Check out the series it’s very entertaining
This was an okay short story about Ember and her familiar finding each other. Like everything else about Ember Rose, her familiar is different. It's not a female and it's not a cat. It's a raccoon named Raoul. And he's got attitude.
This was a cute interlude with some very amusing antics. The one spot of confusion I had was that this is down as #4.5, but when I went to start book 4, it referred to it. So I went ahead and read this and am now happily in the middle of the fourth book!
OK, since before starting to read this series I was looking forward to meeting Raoul the raccoon. This short is where we finally do meet him and I was so glad to being arrived at it, at last!
I missed this one earlier on and wondered about the story of thr raccoon familiar. This a very short but delightful tale of how Ember found her familiar.
