T.I.E. Series #1

The Infinite Something

Rate this book
I thought I could fall in love with an up-and-coming rock star until he betrayed me.
The lying, cheating, scheming piece of crap bassist for my brother’s band destroyed my faith in men.
Funny how another musician saved me from humiliation, became my best friend during my internship with his band’s tour, and ended up winning my heart, although I had sworn to never go there again.
Too bad things couldn’t stay so simple.
One jealous ex-girlfriend and one crazy infatuation later, and I became public enemy number one.
Then I waited to see if he would remain my savior, or prove that I was right the first time around…
You can’t trust a rocker.
Why the hell had I done so twice?

Drama, drama, drama.

This book reads like a YA wish fulfillment fantasy for our h who dreams of managing a rock band on tour. She gets her chance and is the very best thing since sliced bread. Everyone loves her, she thinks five steps ahead and her boss wants to hire her full time.

Meanwhile, we have all sorts of relationship drama between the h and her brother, her ex, her new love interest. Every woman (and I do mean nearly every single one) that these rockers run into (waitresses, groupies, people off the street, other women in bands, especially the ex gf) all the women are nasty, vile, horrible human beings. They openly hit on the men, get handsy, are rude to our sweet down to earth heroine. And all the men in the bands are shocked that these women would be so mercenary and horrible. But that doesn't stop them from shagging them. IMO, the men are just as bad if they choose to spend time with, and expose other people to, these toxic women just so they can get laid. But the man are all innocent victims of these very bad and evil women. So much drama.

I really was enjoying the story in a kind of voyeuristic way but by 79%, the story is over. There is just no where else it can go and the drama is starting to feel High School instead of grown adults.

So I guess most of the first half was kinda fun, in a cheesy kinda way and I'd give it 3 stars. But then things just got too be too much and too long, and I'm settling on 2 stars.

This is not exactly a love for the ages, but enjoyable. As readers we, okay maybe me, bitch and moan because there are so few strong heroines that can stand up for themselves, etc and so forth.

A friends to lovers rock star romance where the H and h s-l-o-w-l-y get together, and she practically revolutionizes how to be a PA to rockers. Her success is meteoric. She has a bad boyfriend she jettisons at the gitgo, and he has a very bad girlfriend that takes a while to ditch. Lots of drama where there is actual comeuppance for most of the bad people.

This is less of a romance than a miracle story on being the most successful PA to rockstars.

Floved this book!!

Really floved the start of this amazing cast of characters. It had everything I want in a Rocker Series and book. You got sexy men, drugs, angst, oh and freaking egos that need slapped, hot AF sex scenes and drama. It was really well written and a fast paced storyline. I seriously loved everything about this book and can't wait for book two.
Really liked Everly her character was strong.

ok I'll be honest this is not my cup of tea, i read it cos i absolutely love the authors mc series and when i find an author i love i plough through every book they've written. rock star and coming of age, YA stories are just not my thing. but i read it, and almost finished it, but like i said it wasnt my thing.

CM's biker books are exceptional, written from the woman's perspective and very different.

My rating: 4 stars

What I loved: I liked that the ex got what she deserved. I loved how Jay(H) went on stage and finally spoke up and showed a part of the video.

What I didn’t like: I wished Everly(h) would have made Jay work harder for her forgiveness. Right after he explained everything she jumped right in bed with him. After not being able to walk for her graduation and all the nasty things being said, he should have walked on glass for her forgiveness (especially him meeting up with the ex and not explaining anything to Everly). Lastly, I would have liked to have read the other ow and h meeting up after everything went down. She was the one that started the mess, so what was her punishment?

***Major Spoilers/ Details/Triggers: OW Drama x2 (H’s ex and a woman who has a crush on him). h gets an internship with her brother’s band so she can graduate from college. h is secretly dating one of the band members. When the h surprises him at one of their shows before her internship starts, she catches him getting a bj from a groupie. Everyone finds out that they were dating when she goes off on him. The H, who is in a different band, helps her. They become friends while on tour since the h’s brother is their opening act for the H’s band. H has a girlfriend that he has been with for 5 years. After a show the h catches the girlfriend having sex with a guy from a different opening band. H comes to see and also catches the girlfriend in the act. H breaks up with her and has her removed. H and h get close. When they go out one night with the band members, a woman from another band hits on the H. He shuts her down but she isn’t happy. When they go out another time, the same chick sits on the H’s lap. The H stands up and tells her off. H takes the h to dance. The woman not happy lets the press know that the H is there with the h and that the h is the reason the H broke up with his girlfriend. H and h go back to the hotel and get intimate. The next day the tabloids labeled the h as a homewrecker and that the H was the one cheating not his ex girlfriend. H’s band member had video the ex girlfriend having sex with the other guy but the H doesn’t want it shown. H distances himself from the h. h is upset that the H isn’t sticking up for her and setting the record straight. When h asks H to go to breakfast so they can talk, he tells her he has a meeting. At the restaurant the h spot the H with his ex girlfriend and the ex kisses the H. h leaves and goes home. h unfortunately isn’t allowed to walk for her graduation because of all the death threats she is getting. After a couple of weeks, h is back on tour. H talks to the h after the h tells all the band members how she couldn’t walk for graduation. H upsets talks to the h. He tells her that his manager didn’t want him to speak to the press because they were building a lawsuit on the ex for embezzlement. He didn’t know about her not walking or the threats. When the H is on stage he finally addresses the rumor in front of his fans, showing part of the video. Ex tries to lie some more but she is arrested. H and h work everything out. HEA with the H proposing to the h on stage in front of his fans.

Final thoughts: I enjoyed this book and I hope each member from all three band’s get their own book too (especially the best friend)

infinitely pleased

⚠️ SPOILERS ‼️‼️ okay let’s get into it!

FMC: Everly/Ev/Evie
MMC: Jay Turner

Whew our girl Everly has been through it!!! Between walking in on Clay cheating (thankfully she wasn’t in love with him, but it still wasn’t easy considering and then hearing him try to tell her brother Trav it ‘wasn’t that serious’ between them, then walking into him passed out from ODing), overhearing her brothers surprised thoughts that she was actually good at her job, but still seeing her as his annoying little sister and under appreciating her- not to mention the fact her own parents treat her and Trav vastly different, to the COMPLETE train wreck that are the women that Jay date/d and his stalker, the backlash from fans and media; I honestly don’t know how she got through it.
Honestly, her job in general seemed so cool and has a 28 year old woman, had me thinking “dang I should’ve kept my major” since I was originally PR my own freshman year of college, and seeing what all Ev has accomplished and got to do, I was just sucked in. This story verse was very enthralling and one of the better band books that I’ve read. That being said, there are still some punctuation errors here and there that I found surprising, but felt overall did not affect the writing itself and what the author was trying to convey.
I LOVED Deacon her boss. I felt he had her back more than any of her supposed friends and her own brother in the story. I loved how supportive he was and how he appreciated her from the jump, and saw what a hard worker she was. The fact he was willing to go to bat for her if she ever had any problems, it was just a nice change from a lot of the “a-hole bosses” I’ve read a lot of in most stories. I’m glad he was consistent in his appreciation with her.
As far as the story went, the pace was set nicely, the only thing I’d disagree with is after that total sh*t storm that Jay’s ex Lydia was, Ev just jumping back into bed with Jay after his “please forgive me” speech in London, was a little unrealistic for me. She couldn’t even walk at her own college graduation! I understand the legality of it all it and what the label’s litigation was trying to do, but it’s the principle of it all. Everly went from “I can forgive you Jay but I can’t forget” and “I had to miss out on my dream because of this” to “oh take me Jay!!!!” In one breath. Just unrealistic.

Other than that because of HEA, and the way it ended, I’m giving it 4.5 stars. I wish there was a bonus chapter with the wedding and how it was a total rock n roll wedding, I think that would be super cute. It’s a good read, I’d recommend it. The smut was pretty tame so I won’t even give it a pepper rating.

I was impressed.

This is my first book from this author and I thoughts this was really well written. And although it's my first, can't say it will be my last.

Very appropriate book title cause this little rock story has it all - Multiple bands, groupies, crazy ex girlfriends, sex drugs and yes rock & roll and last but never least Evie. My rating actually could be more a 3 as much as I liked it and that is because I really couldn't warm up to Evie. I liked the bands the good old fashioned antics the un P C attitudes very 80's reminiscent, but our heroine one minute was PA extraordinaire and the next whine away at the horror of the dating rock stars but never really saying NO - Anyway according to the Author, 21 books - 5 different series and she has the characters to do it. Micha and Evie's bff Ainsley are set up to hopefully be next.

Wonderful

I loved this book. Yes there is some sex but there is so much more. How much and how does one forgive? How to grow up with a big brother who is controlling. How to handle being accused and crucified by the press and fans when you did nothing. How too give up a dream and accept new dreams . I cannot wait for the next installment. Went on author's website and saw no way of signing up for updates when next book comes out. Sure hope there is a way to be notified.

Such a amazing read.

This was a really great read. Loved the detail and behind the scenes of being on the road with the band. It was just a strong empowering read. Really admired Evie and she strength and courage she showed throughout the book. As much as I enjoyed the love story between Evie and Jay, I really was just awed by Evie's journey.

It was okay

I didn't like this book as much as I liked the mc books. It had some really good parts but the fact Jay didn't grovel enough after Everly left was a sticking point with me. Jay let Everly suffer because he listened to the record people and he shouldn't have done that at all.

Fantastic read

This author cannot write a bad book.

I love everything she does, and this is no exception. Fast paced, with a real feel for what goes on back stage at a gig.

The characters were brilliant and I wanted the best for them from very early on, though I was disappointed when Jay dropped the ball....

Can't wait to read the next book.

I really enjoyed this. Very well written with a few typos. Loved the h, sassy, smart, with a backbone. The H was a bit stupid or naive in some places but redeemable. I would’ve liked the h to hold out a bit more but over all, she was a fun character. The other characters were fun and brought some angst too. Sex scenes weren’t overdone but were graphic in a good way. I read this in one day.

The fmc is cheated on by someone else.
Becomes friends with the mmc and ends up working for his band on tour.
The mmc is with a woman who everyone hates. He finds out she’s been cheating on him.
Eventually the fmc and mmc get together romantically.
The exes for both main characters cause a bunch of drama.
Main characters get over it.

rockstar romance

Perfect rockstar drama romance. Had some good spice to keep it interesting and some drama to keep you wondering what could happen next. The best part of the book was the FMC never losing her cool or being over dramatic even if it would have been deserved! I for sure would have been way more dramatic than her!

Blown away with that read. Beautifully crafted and executed. A fabulous balance of rock god ego, angst, smoking sex and smirk worthy tags including #Sanktress (skanky waitress) which did make I chuckle. Off to read book 2.

There were just too many things in the book that didn't make sense:
1. I can understand Clay hooking up with the groupie not knowing that Everly was going to surprise him at their show. But, if he was planning on telling Travis that he and Everly were a couple, how was he going to spin that when he’d been openly banging groupies in front of Travis for weeks?
2. Why did Clay suddenly turn from being constantly apologetic to Everly to being “snide” and spiteful?
3. I found it extremely odd that when Everly found Clay after his overdose, she felt “sorry for him” even though he had cheated on her but felt “nothing but contempt” for the girl he was with even though she had done nothing.
4. The terrible way that Travis betrayed Everly made zero sense in the context of the book. The author had spent almost 40% of the book making Everly seem like superwoman with everyone constantly raving about her and how well she did her job. Then Travis completely disparaged her saying, “… what does she really do here for us? Make us eat breakfast and send us a schedule that Deacon could send directly?”
5. Everly was totally spineless. When she overheard her brother saying all those terrible things about her, she just let it go without even an apology. And then, when she had to avoid him so that she wouldn’t give away the secret about the visiting band, she felt guilty because she didn’t want him to think she was mad at him. When he ambushed her in the car with Jay, she wasn’t mad at him for that either.
6. Jay’s attitude also made zero sense in context of the book. After Everly was made to look like a “homewrecker” and people believed that she had broken up Jay and Lydia, Jay ghosted Everly and just stopped talking to her. When Travis was angry with him for abandoning Everly and hurting her, the only thing Jay had to say for himself was “I didn’t mean to”. He acted like it hadn’t even occurred to him that it would hurt Everly when he just stopped talking to her and refused to defend her publicly.
7. Twice Everly had a relationship with one of the band members she was working for and both times it caused a huge drama in the band. Instead of her losing her job or being demoted like Greg, Deacon suggested that he’d be glad to reassign her again and that he was “shocked” that she hadn’t already asked for it.
8. Jay put Everly on the spot in front of a hundred thousand people and literally FORCED her to say she forgave him.

The quality of writing in small things like phrases works for me. The h catches her band member boyfriend being unfaithful with a groupie. She is set to do an internship with the band as the final credit to graduate with her degree. She puts aside her personal feelings of the difficulty of working with her ex in the interests of her professional career as a PA on tours with bands.
When she quickly responds to a drug overdose, she is offered a chance to work with a main act band. She accidentally interrupts a tryst between the long time girlfriend of the lead singer and a member of another band. She comforts the lead singer who becomes the H. A band member from a female band sees the H's break up as an opportunity to act on her long standing but unreturned interest in him. The H's ex and spurned female rock star combine to create a media drama/circus that paints the h as a homewrecker. The h feels unsupported by the H in speaking up about the lies about the h that are published. The H feels that he is listening to his advisors and dealing with the backlash but is seemingly oblivious to the impact on the h's life.

DNF - Made it 30% untill I said fuck this shit, this book would totally fail the Bechdel test. Watching a woman slut shame and a book treat the female population like manipulative skanky whores pissed me off to no end. I like books with great supportive female friends and show women in a full spectrum of amazing to full on evil. But this well...

It was nice to read a rock star who wasn't a total d-bag cheater, but I was bored and skimmed a bit, and I was super disappointed in Jay for everything he allowed to happen to Evie. I did love Evie, and I loved that she was super appreciated by her boss. He was willing to pull his contract with the record company because of how they were treating Evie... more companies should be this way instead of treating employees like replaceable peons.

Awesome book

I found this book on my Amazon recommendations list. So glad I gave it a try. I was hooked on this story from the start, which is rather rare for me. I can't wait for the next book in this series. It's all about sex, some drugs, rock'n roll, and lots of drama. Couldn't put this book down.

Nice story

But this girl was not very professional and normally that would get her out. Also why would she say she wanted to do this job but wanted out in two years? Also what bothered me is the way she told her situation in front of her boss and really she got herself in this fix which caused conflict in the first place. I was hoping you have the books on the rest of the band.

Securing an internship to be an assistant on a tour for her brothers rock bank. Everley’s eyes are well and truly opened and its not all rock and roll.

I loved this story with it’s twists and turns, betrayals, secrets, lies and plenty of groupie & other woman drama. Looking forward to the next in the series.

Good story

I really like the situation that the story goes. But I don't like the way they cut band members out of the music industry because of conduct when theirs isn't any better. I feel that both of the guys just were led along in the one case and really didn't love in the second case. it would have been nice to see how their lives went. So only one more book in this series.

I liked the storyline and a lot of the characters, however the editing is a mess - a lot of errors, wrong words used, poor grammar and punctuation etc; and it did diminish my enjoyment of the book.
I really hope the next book has better editing and proofreading...
