Well, I had a rather big surprise with this one! I don’t know why I went into this expecting the stories to be kind of silly parodies, but I did. THAT IS NOT THE CASE!!! There are some throwbacks to “The Walking Dead” and some funny hidden references, but these are serious zombie stories FULL of feels!

I was honestly surprised, and a little choked up reading some of the stories! Finding a family in the middle of devastation as in “Life on a Double Decker Bus” by author Kevin J. Kennedy, losing a family, as in “Into the Arena” by Paul M. Feeney, or trying to re-invent yourself into a better version of you, as in “The New Norm” by Suzanne Sussex. These stories really pulled at the heart strings! Don’t go into them expecting happy endings… but, come on, folks. It’s the Apocalypse!

There were a few issues with the editing. Not enough to ruin the experience by any means, but enough that it was noticeable. There were some missing words and grammatical errors in some of the stories, although I didn’t reflect that in my rating as I’m unsure as to whether I got a completed copy, so I always try to refrain from nitpicking as long as it’s not completely atrocious!

I highly recommend this anthology to anyone who is a fan of “The Walking Dead”, anyone who loves zombies, or anyone who just wants a book full of amazing authors with great imagination!!

Same story with all collections. Some good, most mediocre, and one or two that are terrible.

What do you get when you ask a number of Brit authors to write a short story about zombies? You get an awesome anthology of blood, guts, zombies and lots of laughs. Well done authors, I had read some of the authors before and enjoyed their work and now I have a few more new authors to read. I highly recommend this book to anyone who loves the zombie/horror genre.

Do you like "The Walking Dead"? Well then let me tell you will Frickin Love This Book!! I read "The Queuing Dead" and was laughing non stop! Non stop edge of my seat wondering what would happen. What would each reader bring. Well know one fell short that is for sure!!

Just imagine 15 writers who write 15 stories based in the United Kingdom. Well they did and it was fantastically put together.

Zombie Apocalypse hits the UK and the whole place is crazy. Such a unique spin on what could happen in your local town. Will the main character survive or die? Between the laughs the little bit of British slang and your mind picturing these towns you really won't want to put this book down. I read it one day and then read it again. Awesome sheer madness delivered with great fun in several Zombie Apocalypse stories!

I received this book to give an honest review.
I really love zombie stories, and to have many different stories by different authors is always awesome to read. I did like the setting of the zombies as far as they weren't in America. This anthology wasn't the best for me. Right off the bat the first story reminded me of an episode from The Walking Dead. So I was a bit concerned on the rest of the stories and where they were going to go. They all seemed okay though I have to say my two favorite stories out of it all was Game Over by Kyle M. Scott, really was not expecting that turn of events. I kind of had my mouth opened at the end.
Another one I really enjoyed was Visiting Time by Andrew Lennon old people and zombies you just gotta wonder what kind of mix that would create and this author made it happen.
If you are looking to get a taste of new authors and how they weave British zombies into a story then check this out.

Touching, hilarious and wanting more!

...and not just because I did the cover art. While there’s the fair share of hilarious Walking Dead parody going on in this book, I found a lot of characters based on the British archetypes I zombified on the covers became very deep and relatable protagonists and bit characters, artfully written by some fantastic, irreverent and boundary-pushing authors. If I have to quibble about anything, some of these stories left me wanting for more!

The Queuing Dead is a different sort of zombie anthology. It gives a glimpse into the world of a zombie apocalypse occurring in Britain. Highlighting some very British tendencies, it kept my attention. Each story was well thought out and while some did more for me than others, I can honestly say I enjoyed every one of them.

This book ran the gamut of emotions for me. There were stories where I felt sorry for the characters, some where hilarious and others made me want to stab the main characters. Which I think is fairly common for a well written anthology.

Kevin J. Kennedy’s story was one of my favorites even though I didn’t feel like it should have ended there. I wanted more. It didn’t feel unfinished, I just wanted to story to continue.

Overall, I really enjoyed The Queuing Dead. If you enjoy a variety of zombie situations and characters, take the time to check this one out. You won’t be disappointed.

Absolute tripe. Avoid it like you would an actual zombie

Pure trash. 1 entire story is just the opening scenes from a Walking Dead episode, with the names changed. Most of the stories have absolutely no narrative, theyre just half-formed scenes with cardboard characters and shite dialogue.
Would have gladly given zero stars if possible. Every single one of these "authors" desperately needs a new line of work.
Just schlock and drivel.

Typical

Like most anthologies these stories run from the good to the bad and the uninteresting. Rather than corrupt anyone's mind whose reading this, I'll let the next reader decide for themselves.

A mixed bag of stories, but at the very least, you know where you are with the theme of the undead rising in Britain. The best one for me was 'Hey, Zombie, 'Bout Ye?' by Daryl Duncan

A decent collection of stories. Nothing amazing but fun overall. Except the last story which was overly sexualised in a way I wasn't really comfortable with. Overall a 3/5 stars
