The Trono colony on LV-871 is under attack. Emergency evacuations are ordered. Evac shuttles are taking off. All twelve-year-old Maxon and his mom have to do is make it to the spaceport. Except between them and it are . . . Aliens!A terrifying coming-of-age story by master storyteller Gabriel Hardman.* Gabriel Hardman storyboarded the films The Dark Knight Rises, Logan, Dawn of Planet of the Apes, and many others!* A reexamination of why we fear the Aliens!* On sale in time for Alien Day (4/26)!
Really cool story! Definitely interested in reading other Aliens comics (also, probably going to pick this series up as long as my LCS has them in stock!).
Oh gee, an issue of a comic where a character(s) escapes to some kind of emergency shuttle, and shenanigans ensue. Never seen that done before.
Also, man, this Maxon kid really has a one-track mind, doesn't he? Like, seriously, 90% of the dialogue that he had in this comic just consisted of him going "Mom, Mom, Mom" over and over again, like, SHUT UP! Your mom is too busy getting killed by a xenomorph, she will get to you in a second.
Issue #1

Wonderfully evocative opening installment of what looks to be a terrific miniseries; Hardman’s enthusiasm for horror and his deep experience with visual storytelling are great assets for this IP, and his reverence for the films shows through.
I recently interviewed him about this project for Perfect Organism Podcast, and he was generous guest with a lot to say. Check it out!
I picked this up because I love what Hardman did with Invisible Republic and Planet of the Apes... but this seems like it's a rehash of the couple movies. Only fours issues, but I'll stick with it.
...what other horror character/franchise focuses on reproduction like "Aliens"? :D
Not bad. It recovers the esence of the saga. It's difficult to create an original new story with the same old elements of Aliens. This first issue has what the reader is waiting for.
5/10 Passable artwork, OK writing, but really nothing special and doesn't do anything intriguing enough with the franchise to make me want to keep reading. Not going to continue with the series.
