G.K. De Rosa has been an avid reader from a very young age. In fact, before she could even read, she tried fooling everyone into thinking that she could. At the precocious age of two, while living in Italy, she had memorized an entire children’s book in Italian and expertly turned the pages at the exact right moments of the story. As she grew up, she always enjoyed literature, no doubt having been instilled with a love of story telling from her early years in Catholic school where she was greatly influenced by exemplary teachers who taught her the value of English and Literature. Though she did not pursue writing in college and instead went for the more traditional route of International Business inspired by her love for travel and all things foreign, after a move to New York City, she found her creative writing side calling once again. She began writing a restaurant review blog, City Lights and Tasty Bites, detailing her other passion – food! The hectic hustle and bustle of the city, combined with long commuting times gave her the opportunity to spend more time reading and rekindled a lost love. After reading countless books in many diverse genres over the two years in New York City, and returning to her home state of Florida, she felt compelled to write something for herself. She had always felt particularly drawn to Young Adult novels and having been an eternal romantic at heart, a fantasy romance was a natural choice. She currently lives in South Florida with her real life Prince Charming and their fur baby, Nico the German Shepherd.

Dark Divide: by G.K. DEROSA & J.N. COLON 5 stars

Now this second book in the series, is just as good if not better, then book one. Since we're getting more answers to some of the mysteries from book one, we're also getting more mysteries. It's wonderful watching Solaris and Kaige falling more and more deeply in love, their bond is amazing. Both of them, keep in mind the prophecy, but also keep telling themselves it can't be about them. Oh, how I am absolutely, positively loving this series. It's truly amazing. Each time I've read one of these books, I'm in complete do not disturb mode.

The characters are just amazing, I'm enjoying getting to know them better. Their full of depth, and so multidimensional, full of charisma, most of them I can't help but love, then the ones I can't help but hate, either way they all have their place and make for a great story. She's lucky to have some great friends, one of which is Gavin, who I personally think has a thing for Solaris.

The story moves along at a fast pace, with one thing after another happening. Solaris just can't seem to stay out of trouble. Which leaves Kaige coming to her rescue. Solaris has a big heart and can't believe what is going on. She wants to save everyone. Kaige first wants to save Solaris, everything else is secondary.

Kaige has some major problems, with one person in particular, within his family. This person makes Kaige and Solaris lives quite difficult, and dangerous, certainly more so than necessary. Especially with everything else that's going on.

OMG NOOOOO IT CAN'T BE OVER AND NOT Like THAT. Talk about being left hanging. I got to tell you, I LOVE these books. They are everything I want in a book, love, mystery, evil people, good people, twists, danger, when I don't know what's going to happen next. This book is just superb. I've hated, absolutely hated, when each of these books have ended. I've truly gotten upset both times. Now, with book two we're right into the nitty gritty, of the story. We're at a do or die situation, but won't know anything until the next book. Hopefully, that's sooner rather than later, I need to find out what happens. Omg!!! I highly recommend these books, they're truly amazing, excellent for getting lost in.

GK Derosa and JN Colon are two of my favorite YA authors and together they're just magic.

This book made me love vampires. Hard thing to do. But partly because it's not just a vampire book. It doesn't use the tired tropes or cheesy themes. It's completely new and refreshing.

But LAWD (Summoning my Southerner here) that ending. I can't remember the last time I was so mad at an author. I want to know what happens next. I need to know. This book had my adrenaline pumping and I was tapping through pages on my kindle so quickly, watching the percentage go up. The entire time, I was thinking "No. No. No no no... I know what they're going to do to me. There's no way they can satisfy me in the next few pages. Ahhhhh...."

Safe to say, I loved this book. I've had a sea of three star reads lately and this one came as a life raft to safe me with it's amazing characters and fascinating world.

Next book. Pretty please.

Insert clapping here

Yes. 👏🏻 but oh the cliffhanger. Onto the next book. Right. Now. Since I obviously can’t deal.

————— Actual Review to come later ———————

Forbidden love tropes always get me. But combine them with action, danger and seriously messed up families... let me die in peace.

Solaris is a strong female lead that makes you want to jump right into that action with her. She also drives Kaige absolutely crazy and it is fantastic! I love the dual perspective that is told between two different authors. They flow so seamlessly that unless you knew that fun fact, you wouldn't know that fun fact.

I enjoyed this book even more than the first one, which I loved. If you are into different takes on vampire lore and enjoy a good dystopian vibe this read is definitely for you.

I absolutely loved Dark Fates and after reading Dark Divide, I can absolutely say I love it just as much if not more than the first book in this amazing series. The sequel really amped things up with the discovery of a horrific secret and a sinister man who will do whatever it takes to keep that secret hidden, betrayals, and an ever growing connection between Solaris and Kaige that can’t be ignored. Everything is at stake and things are only going to get more complicated, especially after the jaw-dropping cliffhanger of an ending G.K. Derosa and J.N. Colon left off on. I’m both screaming and begging for more. Bring on book 3 you wonderful authors, ‘cause I need to know what happens next.

I received an arc copy of this book and am giving a voluntary, honest review. This series truly is amazing. Read it now. You definitely won’t regret it.

5 Stars (If I could give this book more I would.) O...M...G.... NEED book 3 now. That was amazing. Seriously, the world building, action and romance was heightened so much more in this book. I am seriously bowing, clapping and dancing to the words GK DeRosa and J.N. Colon have written together. You two authors have made one hell of a book. Please write more things with forbidden love, dark princes and rivalry kingdoms. PLEASE.

Warning: Cliffhanger... have book 3 on hand!!!

Bounced between reading and listening to the audio. I enjoyed both so much. The narrators were fantastic.

This book starts where book 1 leaves off and I really thought book 1 was good but this book blows that book out of the water.
sexual tension, drama, revenge, action and romance will have you sitting reading this book until the very end.

I am voluntarily leaving my honest review of this book. This is book 2 of The Vampire Prophecy by the author.

Oh my gods.. I received a free arc for an honest review. This sequel is fantastic. This story just keeps getting better. The love and bond between Solaris and Kaige keeps getting stronger, but so does the danger that they're in. My heart was racing faster than a vampire can move. It's filled with intrigue, deception, and betrayal along with love. The characters are so exquisitely written and diverse. I cannot wait for the next one. You need this series in your life.

An exciting continuing story about a human female, Solaris and an vampire Kaige. Two different nations that didn't get along, at least that is what everyone thought. Death to whomever came on the other side. So when Solaris and Kaige found out about the real blood, their life could end quickly if anyone found out. With love between Solaris and Kaige and their bond. Good book. They are so in trouble. I received a complimentary copy of this book.

Oh my, this is a fantastic second volume. I loved the first book in the series, and this one doesn't disappoint in the slightest. Kaige and Solaris are adorable and endearing, and become even more three dimensional in this volume. Their connection becomes even stronger despite their desire to fulfil their respective desires. The suspense is at an all time high, it's a real roller coaster of a read this one. By the end, my nails were begging me to stop gnawing them! I voluntarily received an ARC of this book.

Oh my. This is awful.

It's so typical of me to only write reviews when I hate the book, but since there are practically no bad reviews for this series, I see it as my duty to warn people off.

I must say that I didn't really have any high hopes at all going into this series. The only reason I did even klick on it on my audiobook app was because I wanted something easy and non-committal and the summary came with the warning "contains mature themes", which as always a nice indication that the author didn't hold back because of PG13 ratings. But no.

The characters are just horrible. I don't even know which one I find more disturbing to be honest. Kaige is horrible. His constant referral to Solaris as "my little human" went from endearing to condescending to straight up annoying. He has no personality traits at all and is so boring I just don't really know anything about him, except maybe that he's toxically jealous. Solaris, on the other hand, does have personality traits. She is stubborn, single-minded and too stupid to see any consequences of her actions. This was, at least in the first novel, something that was interesting about her and something I thought would be part of a character development in the upcoming novels. But no. There's no character development at all for any of them and we have to live with them being obnoxious throughout the story. Though, I must say that Kaige's overly dramatic statements and stormy nonsense is a bit hilarious. I did laugh out loud on several occasions, so I guess it's not all bad.

The setting and world building could be pretty cool tbh, but it severely underdeveloped. It's also full of contradictions. I can overlook most of that because of the age group it's intended for, but some of it is just sloppy. I don't remember if it's this novel or the previous one, but at some point Solaris uses a hollowed out Halloween pumpkin as a metaphor which makes no sense at all as she's most likely never ever had the experience of celebrating holidays, let alone decorate for one. I guess it's not very clear if such a thing is even possible in her country, but since it seems to be a dictatorship with standard issues of everything, my guess is no.

The writing is also pretty bad. I think that this novel should've benefited a lot from having a third person narrator instad of two different POVs. Now, both Kaige and Solaris have to tell the reader everything that is happening and how it feels, and it's just not working. There are a lot of passages regarding their outward appearance that feels cringe worthy, and their emotions are overstated in a way that makes them feel fake. With a third person narrator, both the plot and the characters would've been more subtle and we wouldn't have to listen to them repeat themselves over and over again.

In summary, this is a pretty terrible series with pretty terrible characters. That being said, I'm sure that there are a lot of teenagers out there that love the heck out of it so I'm not saying that you shouldn't read it if poorly written lust stories are your thing ( it often is for me so no judgement). But don't expect to be overwhelmed. Also, don't expect any mature content. There isn't any. I checked so you don't have to.

I am loving this series! G.K.DeRosa, continues her distinctive take on a vampire story. Dark Fates was the stage being set, Dark Divide sets the fireworks off. We are given horror, depravity and disbelief from the word go. Our two potential prophesy breakers are still very much in each other’s minds. Solaris gets her wings clipped for her jaunt with the plane, will she keep her promise to Kaige to leave the mystery of the blood bags alone. Hah! No chance, this is the hot headed, sassy Solaris we are talking about, trouble is her middle name. The truth however signs her death warrant, Forcing Kaige with no choice but to save her life once again, however the results of this causes and accident that will change both of their lives once again. This time they are fighting for more than the need to be together, they are fighting for nocturnals and humans alike. I loved being back in the world of light and darkness, the mix of old fashioned traditions in a modern world . The trials must go ahead, but can Kaige compete, let alone win the crown. There are so many secrets and lies on both sides of the fence causing a whirlwind of twists and revelations that keeps you on your toes. Our lead characters face betrayal, jealousy, disbelief and the threat of death. Solaris isn’t safe on either side of the wall, but will her reckless nature become the death of her. These two are now so strongly connected nothing but death will separate them. They believe the prophecy may not be about them, but with every secret they unravel I don’t think they can stop it, the one thing now is, can they change the ending. There is a big OMG cliffhanger ending, that could just destroy not only both of them, but both worlds. This whole book is captivating, it has built in more knuckle biting plots, it will have you eyes, heart and mind lost in the pages until the last word. I have become invested In these characters, I have a heart pounding need to make them safe. I think this series shows the quality of G.K.DeRosa’s writing, her vivid imagination, the way she can build a world that you have no hesitation in believing. She has a manner of treating subject matters and representing the familiar aspects of life and characters that she can breathe life into any word, character and plot. I am on tender hooks waiting for book.3. Of the Vampire Prophecy.

After reading DARK FATES, I knew I had to start DARK DIVIDE as soon as possible. DARK DIVIDE starts right where the first one left off. Kaige is home in Draconis and Solaris is back in the Collective. Solaris promised Kaige to stay out of trouble, but it really isn't in her nature to leave anything unanswered.

Instead of keeping to herself, Solaris wants to find out where the blood bags came from, but the source is worse than she ever could've imagined. The Collective is hiding a dirty secret and will do anything to keep it quiet. When she finds herself in trouble once again, it's up to Kaige to save her and only he can help with the bigger picture. But Kaige knows the only way they can change things for the better is if he becomes king.

I really like seeing more of the Collective in this one and learning more about Solaris. I also love seeing the bond grow between them and watching how it's changing them for the better. Kaige is so perfect and the ending of this one is insane! This is one fans of vampires will not want to miss.

Final Verdict: I recommend this to fans of vampires, paranormal romance, forbidden romance, and prophesies. This book kept me reading from cover to cover and I can't wait to start the third.

Amazing Sequel!

WOW! Now I loved book one, but this one topped that. The stakes are higher now that Solaris and Kaige are separated. Solaris is breaking her promise and diving into solving the blood mystery and Kaige is facing his brother in the kingdom trials. They are going to find themselves in deeper trouble than they ever thought possible. I really enjoyed reading about life in the Collective and meeting Solaris's friends. And then the romance! Like my favorite part of this series. I really want a happy ending for these two!! I can't wait to read book three!

If you like young adult paranormal romance then I highly recommend this series! There's action, forbidden love and lots of troublesome secrets.

Dark Divide is the second book in the Vampire Prophecy series.

What do you get when you combine the talents of two YA fantasy authors on top of their game?

THIS.

To be clear I don't like vampire stories, as they tend to use the same tired tropes and lack originality. The Vampire Prophecy series, however, has successfully reinvented the wheel. Not that I'm going to go bonkers and binge on the Twilight series, but, damn.

When last we left Nocturne (vampire) prince Kaige and human Solaris, they had separated and returned to their own societies, ostensibly never to see each other again. But ... not so fast. The blood bond they share pulls them together again, along with dark, hidden forces that suggest that something very, VERY wrong is afoot with both societies. I won't go into details, but I found it extremely easy to turn pages to know what happened next.

And that ending.... to quote George Takei, OH MY.

I don't hate cliffhangers as much as some people... as long as the payoff comes soon, I can bide my time. And I know that Book Three will not be long in coming. I cannot wait to sink my teeth (see what I did there?) into it.

Brilliant Continuation!

I initially believed this book couldn't surpass its predecessor, but I was mistaken. The narrative continues to astound me with its abundant actions and emotional spectrum, especially about the couple.

In this second book, there are numerous touching scenes that I love. Amongst them is when Kaige decides to forgo the trials and heads to Imera to save Solaris, strengthening their bond through blood sharing. The other is when the queen intervenes and stands by Kaige and Solaris.

This book had answered all the queries I had from the previous one except for one lingering question: how will the prophecy unfold? My wish for the last book is to have Solaris's friends join forces in the final confrontation.

Getting interesting

As their feelings start to deepen in their forbidden romance their secret begins to leak out to those closest to around them putting both their lives in danger. When secrets are uncovered linking the 2 nations who are meant to not have contact for over 100 years, Kaige sees the only way he can save solaris and those in danger is by becoming king but some are too bitter about their union to let them stay together & take matters into their own hands to eliminate Solaris from the picture. This book does end on a cliffhanger but luckily the last book is already available... interested to see how it all wraps up.

DeRosa is fast becoming a favorite author with an imagination that tops the charts. Kaige and Solaris seem to be experiencing a once in a lifetime adventure that has more twists than a pretzel. However, Solaris doesn't seem to understand the word caution. The ending being a cliff hanger is definitely that since I kept looking for another page to end the suspense. Soooo looking forward to the next book of the series. Again with poison, but why after she is in Imera?

Wow adrenaline rush

Told from both Solaris and Kaiges POV, a human girl and the Prince of darkness. Bonded accidently fulfilling a prophesy told years before. This 2nd book isn't just a fill in like you get with most trilogies, but it's filled with action and mystery. The storyline is solid with good world building. The characters are likeable and I felt their emotions through the writing. Highly recommended
