a real life account of the life -straddling thought processes of this Caribbean woman and her hubby who wish to adopt a baby and comes away with seemingly 'empty arms'.
Empty Arms is Emotional, Evocative and Awe-inspiring!
As a non-Christian and a woman afflicted with PCOS, having endured my own loss I was hesitant to read this book. How would it make me feel? Would the scriptures be too much? Would the words describing another woman with arms as empty as mine be too traumatic? I inhaled deeply and bravely, prepared to run away, but rather once I began reading, I ran towards. From the very first page, I couldn't put down this book. The author takes you in her arms and holds you as she writes. Like the mother than she is, she protects and comforts you from her own tragedy as she shares her pain, there is always a message of hope, strength and resilience. I found myself crying her tears, my tears, then drying them and turning the pages for her to brush them away with words of inspiration and encouragement. I felt her anger, her frustration, I threw myself a pity party with her... and together we rose... I 100% recommend this title. Regardless of your faith, whether your arms are empty or full, man or woman... this is definitely a book worth the read. I will be looking forward to more work by this author.
