Mouse Island was getting ready for the winter Ice Skating Championships! The prize for this year's champions was a pair of antique silver skates that were said to contain clues to a hidden treasure! Just before the championships, we learn someone wants to steal the Silver Skates to search for the treasure! I had to join the competition to help keep the skates safe. But I didn't know how to ice skate! Would I be able to learn enough tricks on the ice to save the Silver Skates ?

Geronimo On Ice by Geronimo Stilton is a fiction chapter book with some pictures for both boys and girls ages 6 to 12 years. Geronimo On Ice is the 71st book in the popular Geronimo Stilton series. The book is about Geronimo entering the Mouse Island skating championships with his friend, Creepella. My favorite part was when Geronimo is training for the Mouse Island skating championships, and at the start of the book when he slid across the ice like a penguin yelling, “Stooooooop meeeeeee!” I think other kids would like it because Geronimo is always doing funny things, and he always forgets to introduce himself. I can’t wait for the next book in the series!

Eh. #71 in the series. It was a bit unbelievable. Geronimo learned how to ice skate in two days and be able to keep his feet after somersaulting?

And all of a sudden Geronimo has a new niece called "Trappy" yet his cousin "Trapp" is no where to be found. The two characters are even dressed alike and have similar hairstyles! Could it be that a magic wizard has changed performed a switcheroo?

The authors are to be commended for this fantasy series. Kind of silly, always funny, likeable characters, excellent word play, high action and interest. A theme runs through each of the books -- in this case figure skating -- and some facts thrown in for interest sake.

Am I reading children’s Christmas stories in May? Yes. I need something to help me get through quarantine and imagining a mouse participating in an ice skating competition is working wonders.
