When fourteen year old Alex Makenna decides to travel to Alaska with her friend, she never dreamed she would be thrust into the fight for her life. Alex rides along with a bush pilot when the plane makes an emergency crash landing in a tiny mountain lake. She calls on every bit of strength she can muster to survive in a land where it seems nearly everything is designed to kill her.
Review by Marc Potter: Well written and hard to put down. I read this book during a recent flight and enjoyed it very much. I think this would be a great reader for children 8-15 years old, a good story time book for children from 6 to 15 at home or in school, and also a pleasant quick adult read. There are absolutely no profanities or adult situations within this book. I would feel comfortable reading it in my first/second grade Christian school classroom. I would rate the reading level at approximately 3.5 - 4.0 for advanced readers.
