What really stood out for me in this Critter Club installment is the lesson that we should not jump to conclusions about people, especially if those are negative conclusions. Liz can't figure the new neighbor kid out. Sometimes he seems friendly, other times he totally ignores her. Is he fickle? Rude? Turns out
These books are so sweet and fun. In this one, Liz gets a new neighbor and its a boy in her class. He keeps ignoring her and she thinks he 's being snotty, but he actually is hard of hearing. I liked getting to talk with my daughter about what it could mean when someone is ignoring you and thats it not always that they don't like you. I think its really good practice in seeing others' perspectives and I love when books open conversations like that. This was a good one!
Liz and the Nosy Neighbors is 119 pages long. This book is about this girl named liz making her diorama for school. The book is also about how liz gets a nosy neighbor. Liz was to create a diorama for school, but she didn't know what animal to choose. Liz's classmates and next door neighbors is no very nice because they all have their animals all picked out and she doesn't. Her classmates and new neighbor would less nosy and more nice that would help liz, but they are not nice. Her nosy neighbor lost his chinchilla and was peeking through the fence to see, but he could not see his chinchilla. Liz opened the gate and he fell over because he was leaning on the fence door. After liz got help from her friends they found his chinchilla. My favorite character was Liz because she is very nice and very helpful. I liked this book because the worked together and found Dylan's chinchilla and they were all friends still after they didn't agree.
Cute chapter book for young readers. Liz’s teacher assigns the class a project to research their favorite animal but Liz is having trouble picking the right one, so many choices. In addition to her project Liz is wondering why her new neighbor is ignoring her. This book combines realistic fiction with interesting animal facts. Kids who love animals and enjoy reading will like this series.,

In this book, Liz gets a new neighbor who sometimes seems kind of rude. It turns out he just has trouble hearing. Also, Liz makes a diorama of an octopus's habitat. And Liz helps her new neighbor find his pet chinchilla, Nugget.
I was sad it took 84 pages for the chinchilla to show up. The nosy neighbor was the human and the story was much more focused on the diorama school project. Sigh
I’ve seen the popularity of these titles with grade 2-4 children, while this one is my first. Nice illustration supporting plot, no redundant depiction.
