This type of story was new for me. It kept my interest throughout the entire book. I am extremely anxious to find out what happens in book 2 for sure. There are multiple types of characters, each unique and some very entertaining. Definitely a good verses evil storyline with an alien twist. I thoroughly enjoyed it!
I started this book not sure what to think but I like it. The story ends on a cliffhanger but not terrible. The romance is light and the characters are likeable. Even one of the "bad" guys seems to be ok although I am rooting for him to be a good guy in the end but not to end up with Rachel. So far clean and the language is too.
This was a good book but you will be disappointed because it never ended it reached a medium plateau but never conclusion and you've got to find the second version of the second novel in order to continue I know series are kind of neat but each book should be able to stand alone and this one could not
I am Not normally one for space or aliens or sci-fi (the Lux series by Jennifer Armentrout aside) but this was a very good book. I was genuinely surprised by how this book drew me in. I was unable to predict what was going to happen next and enjoyed the surprise each twist brought along.
I love this author but this story was a waste of time. Poorly developed characters, and a simply unbelievable story. She is kidnapped and falls for the first male on earth..really? He drops out of school and falls for a stranger in his door step...?? Now they are leaving earth to fight...waste of time!!!!!!!
I was hooked after the first chapter. The characters are well rounded and the story line is very unique for this genre. The love story aspect of it didn't make much sense but it didn't come across as forced and didn't take over the whole story so I didn't mind it too much.
I read this book in three days. It holds your interest and is a fast read. I like reading YT books for the non sexual content. I'm 67 and we did not talk about sex where I was raised. I can't wait to read the next 2 books
I enjoyed the storyline and Rachel's great adventure. Character names could have done better because the names are from Earth and do not sound alien. I felt more detail could have been added because the story felt rushed. Other that it was a fun read.
This was not my favorite of Alyssa's. While I normally really enjoy her books, this one was not my favorite. I'll give the next one a go, but it didn't capture my attention like the others typically do.
Another series from ARI to love! This book grabbed my attention from the start & never let go! Oh, the twists! May 24th had better hurry, because I need book 2 yesterday!
This book was different. Didn't know what to expect. Like Rachel's character and Noah. Angie was funny. Dale is the huge horny dude type. Shocked at the end.
Nicely written and we'll worth a sequel. I am interested in what happens next. The main character is interesting and much less into teen angst than most in the YA genre.
***I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review*** I have never been one to be into the whole Alien and other planet thing. There is no reason why, it just has never intrigued me. So to say I was worried I was going to hate the book is an understatement. I went into the book thinking it wasn't going to be good, but gave it a try because I really like Alyssa Rose Ivy's books! Come to find out... I was pleasantly surprised and liked it much more than I thought I would. So if you are like me and wouldn't normally look twice at this book, take a chance and keep an opened mind! Rachel's life on another planet has been a lie since the moment she was taken from Earth. Once she learns the truth, she doesn't know who to trust and who to run from. She fights the struggle of trying to obey the emperor his son aka also her mate now, but something doesn't seem right to her. She finally has a chance to escape and jumps at the first chance. Back on Earth, she is searching for her brother and befriends Noah who lives in her old house. Noah and his friends decide to help Rachel find her brother, but they are also skeptic, well everyone besides Noah. He is smitten. Noah... There are some major back stories on Noah that we have yet to learn. All we really know is he's from St Louis, his twin brother died, and his sister is the same height as Rachel. I hope to learn more about him in the next book, but I really think he is a great guy and cares for Rachel already. Caspian... I am still unsure if Rachel can actually trust him or not. He seems to know a lot about Rachel and secrets that have been kept from her. However, I think he really does love her, but he is now starting to realize Rachel's emotions were messed with and maybe she doesn't really love him back. I also think he realizes how his father is controlling factors of Rachel's life. I hope Caspian turns out to be a better guy than his father. Time will tell in book 2 when he finds Rachel on Earth. We all know he is going to find her. Overall, this book was great! It kept me captivated and wanting more. It also left me with way too many questions, but I am hoping book 2 will answer many of these.
Oh my goodness!! I am so excited for this new series from Alyssa Rose Ivy!!! Stardust is the first book in the Half Light Series and let me tell you, I am HOOKED!!! Stardust is fresh, exciting and totally intriguing. I fell in love with the plot and the characters from the very first page. It was so different and had me devouring the pages quickly. I was intrigued by Rachel and just had to know more. In a span of moments, her life would be turned upside down yet again and now she would find herself questioning everything she thought she knew. The betrayal runs deep and has Rachel making an unexpected decision. A decision that will once again change her course….
Stardust gives the Half Light Series one heck of a start. It’s exciting and thrilling and I honestly can’t wait for more. This is definitely a great book to spend your afternoon getting lost in. I can not wait to see where this story is going to go next and see just how Rachel’s story is going to play out!
*I was provided an ARC copy of this book, in exchange for an honest review*
Alyssa Rose Ivy takes us on an incredible, out of this world journey with Stardust, her first novel in the Half light series. Ivy surprised me with her Sci-Fi story of a girl abducted at a young aged forced to live light years away in a galaxy lacking emotions. Now, I've had the pleasure of reading her paranormal, new adult and contemporary romance in the past, but never Sci-Fi. However I found myself actually loving this one as much if not more than some of her original work. Ivy captured the innocence of a girl raised outside of modern day, as well as the interesting story line she always creates. Just as you are about to feel like you are understanding more of her character's history, BAM in true Ivy fashion she yells "PLOT TWIST" and keeps you guessing. I can't wait to see what is to become of our innocent little abductee and her band of friends as they continue to on their journey of truth!
I'm convinced this author can seamlessly write any genre she wants. This is the first Science Fiction book I've read by her, and we have another winner! Science Fiction isn't even my favorite genre to read, but I loved this story and can't wait to see where it goes. Rachel is starting to question whether the future that's been planned for her is really the future she wants. The poor thing.. her life has been turned upside down. Not only when she was a child, but again now. Everything and everyone is in question. Who can she trust? There are a few twists and turns along the way as she figures things out. I'm running behind with this series. I'm super excited to read the next books, and I need to catch up.
Stardust by Alyssa Rose Ivy was kindly provided to me by the author for review. The opinions are my own.
This book took me by surprise. I didn’t expect the story Ms Ivy created for us. It was amazing. Refreshing. Different.
I love Alyssa’s writing. I am huge fun of all her paranormal stories and contemporary ones. Basically I love them all. Some more. Some a bit less. But not much.
I didn’t know what to expect from this story but certainly I did not expect such turn of the action.
The book starts rather slow but picks up in pace rather quickly and one action is followed by many others. Even though it’s a short read the characters are well developed and you can get attached to them quickly.
I love Noah, really like Rachel and have a soft spot for Caspian.
It’s definitely an amazing quick read.
4.5 stars from me

Don't know how I feel about this. It took a different turn to what I was expecting. While I liked Rachel and Noah, even Caspian to a point, there was no attachment to them. Not a huge fan of insta-love
I probably would have rated this 3 stars, but it ends on a cliffhanger. I really detest cliffhangers. In addition, it could use a little polish as the characters and world building are a little flat. I won’t be continuing with the series.
I just couldn’t get into this story. I wanted to. I love a good alien story but this one was too blah for me. From the deceptive prince who kidnapped a girl to mate with and knew he loved her as soon as he saw her as a toddler...what?!? Nope. Not for me.
