Two stories featuring K-9 counterparts set during the Christmas season.

I really enjoyed both of these short novellas as they wrapped up this K-9 series. Both of these authors did a great job with different stories. The first story is by Valerie Hansen and focuses on domestic abuse. A subject that is very sad and especially when there is a child involved. I found the story hopeful and realistic. I loved the characters and especially enjoyed the action and suspense! The little girl, Natalie, was so precious - I wanted to bring her home and wipe out all the tragedies she has suffered! Fortunately, she had an Aunt Rachel that stood by her and wonderful vet, Dr. Kyle Roarke! In the second story, it dealt with assault of women in the military by high ranking officers - another issue that is relavant today. Jacey Burke can't get anyone to believe that that has happened to her until she is pushed in front of a moving truck and an old high school friend, Sean Morris, happens to be behind her. When a lot of bad things start to begin happening, Jacey and Sean know what someone is after Jacey and they wont stop until they find the culprit! Both stories were great!

A pleasant conclusion to the Military k-9 series about an escaped serial killer. While I didn’t like this one overall as well as the main part of the series (the eight full-length novels), I put my feet up for a couple of hours of suspenseful diversion. I liked Hansen’s story best at 3.5 stars, while Scott’s was slightly below that at a 2.5 rating. Mostly they just felt a bit rushed because of the short form and the writing talent showed through a bit more in one than the other. (Shorter stories are often challenging for the best of writers!)

My review today is on the Love Inspired Suspense, Military K-9 Unit Christmas. This book consists of two novellas that end the Military K-9 Unit Continuity Series. I have really enjoyed this series and these two stories are an excellent ending for the series. These stories are well written, action packed, and full of faith. I know you are going to love this book.
Christmas Escape
Valerie Hansen
Veterinary Assistant Rachel Fielding loves her job working with the military K-9 dogs. She works at Canyon Air Force Base in Texas. These dogs fill her void of no husband and kids of her own. Stryker, a three legged dog is her favorite. Rachel gets a phone call telling her that her estranged sister has been injured and she needs to go to the hospital immediately. Had her abusive boyfriend hurt her? Her boss, Kyle arranges for leave and then takes her to see her sister. She's scared when they get to the hospital, is Peter there? When he shows she knows she must run. She has to protect her niece.
Veterinarian Captain Kyle Roake knows what it feels like to not be able to say goodbye to a loved one. He was too late to kiss his wife and daughter goodbye and he still isn't over that. He not going to let that happen to Rachel. They soon find out that the man who beat her sister and left her for dead is here at the hospital and he is mad. He must protect Rachel and the child.

Senior Airman Jacey Burke is walking across the base on her way home when someone pushs her out into the street into the path of an on coming truck. She is rescued by a man she hasn't seen for ten years.
She tells him she was pushed but he doesn't seem to believe her either. Ever since she came to this base strange things have happened to her but no one will believe her. That's what her stalker wants them to believe. The stalker is escalating. The cops refuse to believe her and it doesn't help that she had filed charges against her boss back in the middle east when he had made advances to her and refused her promotion.
Staff Sergeant Sean Morris is with the Special Forces. She told him her story. He hasn't heard any of the gossip she has heard and he is determined to keep her and her K-9 safe for Christmas. He couldn't believe her allegations were deemed not credible against her boss. He doesn't want to believe that the man is trying to shut her up permanently. Could he be the killer? Who else would want her dead?
These two stories are about broken souls, loss and abuse. God has a plan for these men and women. A plan for a hope and a future. God has a plan for you too. I know the holidays can be really rough for those of us who live alone but God is there to make your world a better place. Give Him your heart, He's a gentleman and won't come in unless invited. He can and will turn your life around.

Rachel receives a call from a San Antonia hospital informing her that her sister was in ICU and not expected to make it. Rachel is given custody of her niece but the abusive father has other ideas. Kyle comes to the rescue and calls in the K-9 team for backup.

What a great feel good book. Two stories that have suspense, love and faith. This book has you feeling so glad you read it. It's so good to have suspense to keep your heart going but in the all and all the Faith and love with a good feeling is great. I also love the K-9 dogs they are so sweet and they make you want to have one. Any way loved this book Thanks Valerie and Laura you both write great books

I enjoyed these clean, Suspenseful romances. I bought this book at the local Goodwill store and I voluntarily chose to review these two stories for one book. The second author is Laura Scott. Both stories pulled me in pretty fast. In both, the female military person is in danger but different in many other ways. Both K-9's knew their jobs and played important jobs. Both are a little shorter but still packed with lots of action. I just love these K-9 stories.

Two good reads by two authors all in one book! I thought it was interesting that Ms. Scott's book had characters that went to high school in Branson, Missouri! (However, Branson students are "the Pirates,"not "the Bulldogs.")

Love dogs
Love the concept of this series. Don’t understand why there are separate authors. Kept getting distracted by their patterns. One had non military villain who frequently died. Very abrupt. The last author repeated flesh wounds. Everyone proposed in less than a week. A few authors must-quoted the previous book. Distracting.

There are two stories in this book. The first one was about her sister dying as a result of spouse abuse. The second was about a sexual harassment charge that spirals out of control. Both very well written, likable characters, and a warm, loving dog in each with a vet clinic in play. Great Christmas read!

love the stories if you like suspense with loveable k9 s you will enjoy reading the stories. if you have read any of the books in the series you have to read this book. she works for the veterinarian someone is after her and her niece, and will kill to get what they want.

Absolutely loved these two short books. The suspense in wanting to know more and what would happen next. It all kept me wanting to keep on reading! I stayed up way later than normal one night even. Great read!

Perfect
I found these two short stories the perfect way to end this exciting and interesting series. All authors in the series were new to me, so now I have been introduced to them. A pleasant journey. I would recommend the series to anyone who enjoys stories about animals.

Part of a series but I like to read all of them and get to know all the characters. They work fine as stand alone. I find it amazing so many authors can coordinate their stories and keep the story believable. A little love and lots of action.

Two short stories in one book. I enjoyed both stories and found them both to be fast reads. I actually had read the whole series of the Red Rose killer.
