This book was so cute. I originally got it because I follow the amazing author on Instagram, and I wanted to check out her work.
I so wish that I had this book when I was 10 years old, it would have made puberty so much less scary. My favorite part of the book was all of the incredible graphic design and art that went into it, one of the most aesthetically pleasing books I’ve had the pleasure to read.
I would definitely recommend this to any young girls, and also older ones who just want a good laugh or to feel some nostalgia!

Incredibly important information, as well as embarrassing anecdotes that everyone can relate to when it comes to crushes, menstrual cycles, and emotions. I enjoyed all the photos and art, as well as the topics of consent and weird feelings from older men. That was something that was never talked ab for me as a kid, so that was really great to see. I wish I had this book when I was going thru all this puberty junk, and I plan on throwing this book at my sister. Lol

Highly recommended for any girl (or not), as it provides a lot of insight, and sometimes it feels good when someone other than your family, or your doctor explains something to you.

Marawa explained a lot of things that I didn't know before and I really liked it!

This is a piece of art between Marawa's amazingness, Sinem's brilliance and their creative partnership. Not ass kissing, these two women are really incredible, together they made even the page numbers special!

This little gem reflects a new generation of women being welcomed by the present ones with body positivity, self-care and girls supporting each other. The Girl Guide is an awesome tool for parents and teenagers to become more aware of their bodies and their health.

I've received a black and white ARC by Harper Collins and I just can't wait for the colourfull final edition. Thank you, Harper!

I loved the candor of this author and she honestly covered some things I wouldn’t have thought to with my 11 year old. I appreciate that this book exists, because while I try so hard to have an honest, open relationship with my tween...the fact is there are just some things she prefers to process on her own or ask other women in her life that she trusts. She picked this book out at the library and I got the chance to proofread it because it covers such important stuff! My only concerns with this book were the sections titled “Your gender, your choice,” and “Hothothot”...as a Christian household we have different beliefs about gender identity and premarital sex and so I was able to know what the book says ahead of time and broach that subject with her. I still feel the subjects were handled well for what I would expect from a secular point of view.

This is a wonderful, fast read, targeted for girls upper elementary school-early middle school. It has a lot of great, quick information about growing up without going into too much detail. While later on as puberty approaches some girls might prefer a more in depth book this one is a great beginning one. It's fairly inclusive, mentions that one might like boys, girls, both, or feel like the opposite gender you have been raised- all without judgment. Not much time is spent on it- but not much time is spent on anything. I think the longest chapter was 4-5 pages.

I would highly recommend this book, especially for kids interested in puberty and what they will go through who might become entirely too freaked out by some of the more in depth books.

Disclaimer: I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review from a Goodreads Giveaway.

KNOWLEDGE IS POWER.

Seru, kata2 penulisnya 'believe me!' 'Trust me!' Kaya dgrin anak remaja curhat & di kasih feedback Ringan buat anak2 gadis. Ilustrasinya gemas. Menceritakan bagaimana si penulis tumbuh jd anak perempuan dewasa yg bingung dg segala perubahan fisik tubuh, kognitif, mood, dll jadi bahas anatomi tubuh perempuan dari atas sampai bawah, mens, keputihan, boobs, vagina, and so on.

it's all been reviewed and fact-checked by medical consultant Dr. Radha Modgil. Intinya apapun yg ada di tubuh perempuan, klo bentuknya pas tumbuh beda2 ya gpp, embrace your uniqueness, ga perlu pake operasi2an, ga perlu d cpt2in dandan ky org dewasa, ga usah pake heels kalau masih under 15 dll, just being you tubuh perempuan emg luar biasa.

This is such a cool book! From back to front it's filled with colorful illustrations, collages, real pictures of the author, etc. Marawa narrates her own awkward experiences during puberty, from periods in white jeans to an unflushable poo. She covers the physical and chemical aspects of puberty and also the social and emotional experiences that play out as a result of change hormones, bodies, and self-discovery. The beauty of this book is you don't have to read it back-to-front. Instead, you can jump in and out depending on what you want to learn about, and each little entry is short, to the point, and filled with positivity.

I wish this book is out when I was in my teenage, so there won’t be so many doubts.

I guess the open, friendly attitude of the author and the beautiful beautiful art can widen any reader’s view and be frank with self, also more confident to all the differences.

I personally think this book is readable in any culture so girls can have a fist peep at the self-learning and exploring journey.

Highly recommended!

What I love most about this book is its striking artwork presentation which I found to be captivating and incredibly fun and fresh; ideal for the book’s target readers. I appreciate the playful pops of colour throughout and vibrant and modern illustrations which are deeply innovative and quite unlike anything else I’ve seen in a book. Thoroughly enjoyable and original!

Won this in a Goodreads giveaway, with the intent to gift it to my niece. This is a book I wish I'd had at her age, at the onset of puberty. Covers a lot of ground with humor and empathy, in small bites but with powerful messages and reassurances. An excellent primer for many things girls worry about at that age and beyond, positive and educational. Well done!

A cute, delightful and heartfelt book that covers the basics of being a girl. The guide comes in many forms — personal anecdotes, inspiring quotes, useful advice, vibrant illustrations and more. This book is a quick and light read, there are no faults and I would probably rate it higher if I had read it when I was younger.

This book is an absolute treasure! I was blown away by the small details in the artwork (like the sanitary napkin bullet points!!) and loved how candid the writing was. I know my students will appreciate this book.

I work at a library and seen this book and took it upon myself to read as a possible recommendation. A fun book to read while looking back on puberty and growing up. This would be a good read for 12-13 years of age girls who aren’t quite sure of themselves!

My 11 year old daughter loved it! She fund it very informative, easy to read and the imaginative graphics made it reassuring and fun. She'd often read out chapters to me, ask questions and we'd laugh out loud and have some lovely mother to daughter chats. I highly recommend it for a preteen girl.

This was a great body-positive book! I wish I had this book around when I was younger. I would have liked if Ibrahim had included some resources, websites, or places to look for information for some of the topics that she covered, but overall this is a great book for growing bodies!

This book was so perfect for teaching my daughter about her body, the changes it will go through, and different things women go through. I, as an adult, learned some things as well. It was funny, informative, and she loved it! I recommend.
