E.M. Shue is an Alaskan award-winning romance author. She writes in many different sub-genres but always features badass heroines in gritty situations. As the mother to three grown daughters and two granddaughters she wants readers to be able to see that tough girls can have happy endings too. She is married to the love of her life of over twenty years who she married within months of starting to date, instalove is real.

I am always here for a steamy romantic suspense and this book just hit all of my buttons. I was so into everything that this book had to offer me. I was hanging to every word of this book, just waiting to see what would happen next. I was super invested into the intrigue in this one and I just wanted to see what would happen next.

Also, the romance in this book was just so sweet and I adored every seconds of it.

Snipers Kiss by E.M. Shue a five-star read that will smother you. This is the first book in the Securities International series, I loved this first episode of the series it shows great promise to the series and the characters that we are introduced to. I cannot wait to get my teeth into the next read of the series. The action and drama in this read are amazing, if you like your women fierce and your drama heart wrenching then this is the read for you. Maya is one of those characters that you may not like as much in the start, she’s a little to harsh, but once you get to know her you will be wanting to stand along side her, watching her back when she needs it.

This book was amazing!! It had me flipping the pages, hanging on to what would happen next. Maya is a police sniper, independent, strong, bada$$ female character with the skills to match, and Duncan is a British ex soldier, sexy, and dominant man. I fell in love with Maya and Duncan, and they had such a great connection and a scorching chemistry. This story has it all, an excellent storyline, suspense, action, drama, steamy scenes, and relatable characters. It's an incredible story and a definite must read!

Sorry, but I just couldn't finish this book. After 31% I had to give up. Neither the writing nor the characters did it for me. The story sounds promising and has surly potential, but the way it was written it just did not work for me. I'm truly sorry!

My first book by this author and definitely not my last!

Maya is a strong willed law enforcement officer who is willing to die to protect those around her, but also is hiding some things.

Duncan is her sister-friend’s brother who sets his sights on her.

I love the way the author showed the strong ties within the friendships/work relationships.

And I love the sexiness between them!

This premise of The Sniper's Kiss is instantly intriguing. Who doesn't love a strong heroine who possesses skills to take care of herself and those she loves? I loved Maya Aaron, her confidence, and her bold spirit. I also like Duncan Preston, the hero of the story and the cast of supporting characters included in this book.

The storyline is action-packed and quite suspenseful. The details of sniper/ERT protocol were interesting to read and learn about. The international setting between Washington D.C. and London made for an exciting background to this power-packed book.

This being said, I had very high expectations when reading this novel. While I was interested in finding out how things unraveled and resolved, I had difficulty getting through some plot inconsistencies, the way in which some things were so over-the-top, repetition of wording, dialogue choices, and the sheer length of the book. All things considered, I did not expect to have unresolved plot issues when I finished reading a book containing 45 chapters. I would love to have this story edited more thoroughly so it could streamline into the powerful book it has it has the potential to be.

I will probably read the other stories in this series because I truly liked the characters and their interactions, as well as the subject matter. I found it entertaining and I need to find out how these characters move into the future with each other.

This is the first book I have read by this author and now I need to read more!!
Absolutely love Maya, she is one bad ass lady and hell no I would mess with her, but, someone or some people are. Stalkers to be precise, two maybe more. What do the want from her, it’s a mystery I still want to solve!
Maya has had a lot of tragedy in her life and plays her cards very close to her chest, she doesn’t let many people in her life and those that she does are like her family.
In comes Duncan, her best friends brother. The chemistry between them is instantaneous and combustible, but Maya is scared, she doesn’t want to her hurt her best friend if anything goes wrong, she also wants to protect Duncan from her stalkers, so she wants to keep their liaison a secret. This leads to many problems and jealousy.
Can Maya and Duncan get their act together?
A well written book with great care given to future books in the series. Fast flowing and action packed, I’m definitely interested in reading more!

This book had me hooked from page 1. I was so engrossed in this story that I finished it in a day!! Maya is such an amazing character with a kick butt attitude and she has the skills to back it up. She's fiercely independent but in a way she's forced to be this way due to her past. She loves her family completely but is terrified at the same time that she's placing them in danger. She'd rather step in front of a bullet then anyone she cares about be hurt. Duncan has seen some horrible things throughout his military career and feels connected to Maya because of it. He is loyal to a fault to those he loves and will protect them with his life. Maya and Duncan must try to overcome some huge obstacles from Maya's past with the help of both their family and friends. Plus in the process try to keep everyone safe and their love in tact. I can't wait to find out more about all the characters in this book and am very excited to continue this series. This is definitely a must read!!

I read this via #quirkyblinddatewithabook.

This was a new to me author and I look forward to looking up more of her books. I was totally sucked into the story and hated to put it down. Maya and Duncan are both great characters. Maya is a badass and Duncan is an ex soldier and pretty bad ass himself. I loved the dynamics between the all of the characters. I felt for Ana and wanted to reach in a punch her man is the face and kick him in the balls. I look forward to more of this series as there are several characters I want more of! My favorites parts of this story was not the romance and hot and steamy scenes but the Drama and Action its what pulled me in and would't let me go.


Thanks for a great read. This book has suspense, drama, sex, romance a little bit of everything and a lot of a few of them.

This was an interesting book, You have Maya that is a badass in a mans world. she is a sniper and secret service, who all her life has felt that she's alone. She feels that she has to hold people at a distance. when she meets Duncan he has a connection to her that not even she understands. This book takes you on a ride, she's being stalked and she has no clue who or when he will harm those around her. when you dive into this story it takes you thought some action, love and turmoil. Its a good read, some areas you may feel like questioning and wonder if you were in their shoes would you have reacted the same or would you have handled it different. That's what makes a book if you can dive in and wonder how would i do it or would i have made love after that then you know that the pages have you.

This book is a kill shot that will have you so caught up you won’t be able to put it down until you have read it all. Maya and Duncan didn’t know what living was just how to go through life. A hostage situation has them crossing paths but only on the periphery and that one look was enough to ensnare Duncan. He know he wants his forever love and is willing to go after it. Her hard edges, big guns, crazy stalkers, and tactical skills aren’t going to scare Duncan away. He is just as hard as her and they have a story and love that is captivating and enduring. This book is entertaining till the end and gets better with each page turned. *This is the first book in the series and this series should be read in order *

This is the first book I've read of E. M. Shue and normally, I don't read this genre. But in this instance, I'm pleasantly surprised with this book. The storyline was cohesive, the main and side characters were three dimensional and interacted flawlessly and the story itself was absolutely brilliant. Flawed characters, a who don it mystery, romance with enough angst to make you wonder if it was going to happen and finally the HEA we're always looking forward to. This could be a read alone book with a HEA but the author has left enough of a cliffhanger to make the series interesting and lets the reader craving for a resolution come into play. Great job E. M. Shue. I look forward to more of this series

Overall, I enjoyed the concept of this book, as well as the fact that it featured a strong, kick ass female lead--without diminishing the strength of the male characters. I find this to be increasingly rare in books and movies (especially movies), where the only way the story teller can create a strong woman is to make the men look like bumbling jackasses. That was not the case in this book, so BRAVO!

My only negatives were that the story felt a bit choppy at times, and the endearments were a bit overused, IMO. That could have just been ME, simply because I’m not a big “term of endearment” gal. I’m usually happy with a “babe” or “baby” sprinkled here and there. Again, that’s probably just my preference and not a direct reflection of the book or author’s talent.

What a journey you are taken on in this book! I absolutely loved reading about Maya and Duncan. I didn’t want to put the book down. It’s definitely chemistry from the start. Maya has a stalker or stalkers and for that reason doesn’t let many people in. She’s afraid they will be hurt. Duncan will do everyone his power not to loose Maya and show her he can be the one for her. With Maya’s job she is definitely one heck of a good shot and fighter. She doesn’t let much get past her. Can she overcome the stalker or stalkers? Can Maya have a happy life with Duncan or they doomed to be alone without each other? Wait til you find out what happens! You won’t want to miss a single moment if this nail biting book.

Snipers Kiss

This was a good book and i was so looking forward to Maya being all kick butt, but not onlu was i dissapointed with the ending and to many sex scenes that were exactly alike. Duncan was constantly jealous of any man even looking at Maya and very angry, he also was constantly trying to protect her all the time which is nice but if youve read the discription you will see that she doseent need the constant protection hes pushing on her. I hate jealousy, if he cant trust his best friends or her its rediculous. Jealousy is the quickest way to ruin a relationship. I bought all the books in the series at once, i really hope the sex and jealousy do not continue.

Sniper's Kiss is book 1 in the Securities International series
by E.M. Shue. This was also my introduction to Ms Shue.

I really liked Maya. She's a sexy, strong, kick-@$$ heroine. And Duncan is very alpha and very intriguing. These two have explosive chemistry and the sex scenes were smoking hot!!!

In Sniper's Kiss the storyline is action-packed, full of drama, intrigue, and suspense. My only issue with the book is it was quite wordy. I felt many chapters could have been edited out without losing the storyline and the characters. Other then that it's an interesting series and I'd like to read more in this series for sure.

This was a fantastic story with murder, mystery, hot loving and great action with guns, knives and hand to hand fighting with the guys being handed their a$$ by a very talented young woman.
Maya, a survivor of childhood trauma is a sniper for the police but when someone starts targeting her and the people she loves there will be all hell to pay. Duncan is her best friend’s brother who she falls for but when things get rough she leaves, but true love cannot be held back, especially when his sister is married and appears to display of abuse he is forced to rescue them. I would highly recommend.

I actually started this series somewhere in the middle and have never had a chance to start at the beginning. It has filled in so many holes for me. Each book is a standalone, but this is the foundation book. Maya is one badd@ss woman and between the Big Guy and Maya, it's an intense connection that cannot be severed. It's amazing what you will do for love. Loved the interaction of one family to the other, and they were actually inter-connected. Derek is a hoot, "yuck". Absolutely adored those gun conversations with the SI guys when they first met, totally a turn on. So many wonderful lines, "let go and fall", It was worth it."

A fantastics suspense thriller with action, romance, a crazy stalker and so much more. Maya is a sniper and has worked hard to get where she is on her team. Duncan was in the Army and is her best friend Ana's brother. The chemistry between these two will scorch the pages. I absolutely enjoyed this book and could not put it down. This is the first book I've read by E.M. Shue and can't wait to read more of her books. This is a definite must read that will keep you turning the pages. What a fantastic action packed story. I’m a big fan of suspenseful thrillers with romantic interests and this did not disappoint. Maya is a kickass heroine needing to protect those around her. Duncan is her best friend’s brother who is your typical alpha male wanting to protect his love. These two are explosive and the sexual tension and attraction is through the roof. Once I started this story I could not put it down. I was very much reminded of Catherine Coulter while reading this book and she is one of my favorites. This is gonna be a must read series. Well done!!!

This was my very first book by this author and I really enjoyed having such a strong female character that could show a softer side when she was with the hero. Maya was running from a past that was slowly catching up with her. And when our hero Duncan first spotted her driving away after a tough job he was hooked. Duncan was fighting for the love he knew they had. But Maya last caught up with them. At times the story seem to drag but picked up again. I would definitely read and recommend this series for someone new to the romantic suspense genre.

Started an exciting series with a beautifully flawed couple

Maya, an ERT sniper, sees Duncan, a member of Securities International, when a hostage situation arises that involves one of his clients. As the story progresses they are connected in an unknown way, an urge to flee is followed, and when the fight leaves one front it reappears on another. E.M. Shue started an exciting series with a beautifully flawed couple with lots of direction to go forward. I am rereading this series and am enjoying it even more now than I did originally.

This is a book not to be missed.
Maya is used to being on her own. She has stalkers (plural) so prefers to stay on her own rather than lose anyone she loves.
There is an instant attraction and connection when she first meets Duncan but can she let him in?
Duncan will do anything to have Maya in his life but when danger comes their way is anyone safe.
So much drama and suspense with plenty of emotion but also so much love.
A must read.

I fell in love with Maya and Duncan instantly. I’m amazed at how strong, lovable and stubborn Maya is and poor Ana had me tearing up. But what amazing genuine characters they become under this author's guidance. The storyline grabs your attention and then you're on a roller coaster of a ride. It's humorous, heartbreaking and yet so satisfying. This author’s writing is d*mn good and I am now proud to call myself a fan of her work. I highly recommend this series.

Maya is such a bada** and Duncan is the sexy ex soldier and your going to love them both. I couldn’t stop once I started reading this and I can guarantee your not going to be able to either. This action and drama in this book put it above the rest, add in the comedy and romance and you have one of the best books you’ll ever read hands down. I have been looking for something different to read. I really enjoyed this book . This was a first for me by this author . I really like the girl getting to be the bad @$$ lol ! I kinda felt like it just ended and I wasn’t ready for it until I realized there was another book!! I just downloaded the second one and am about to dive in !!!

This is my first read from E.M. Shue and I am hooked.
Duncan and Maya are a force to be reckoned with. Duncan works for a security company and Maya is part of the Secret Service ERT team. When they finally come together they won't let anything stop them. I'm craving the next instalment. I just must know if they make it through and rescue Ana, Duncan's sister and Mayas best friend. I also wonder if kids come along in their future.
