Upon getting my copy of this book, I noticed that it was the first in a series. I was a bit taken aback, as I have not read an entire series in a long time, but I journeyed onward in hopes of an adventure I would feel compelled to continue. I was met with a story that adequately fulfilled my appetite for horror, true crime, and mystery novels all in one. The fast-paced plot kept me reading in spite of its mildly uninteresting writing style and lack of lexicon. The entire package is, overall, pleasing, and if I have time I might read the entire series (that is, if Brown can maintain an even slightly realistic and interesting story arc for the rest of the books). Despite the occasional corny choice,-seriously, who unironically names their character 'Jordan Quest'- Intruders was an entertaining, action-packed read that is great for fans of true crime, action movies, and psychological thrillers.
