Murphy’s Luck #2

Murphy’s Luck 2

Rate this book
His luck is a weapon of mass hilarity.

Murphy’s mind-boggling luck returns with a vengeance in a new, fun-filled adventure. Armed with his relentless jinx, Murphy Drummer sallies forth to save America from himself.

When a bank’s surveillance camera captures Murphy’s amazing hobby-honed abilities in action, the tape comes to the attention of the FBI. The agency decides that the Eureka recluse is just the man to help with a matter of national security, only to learn how one man with Murphy’s luck undermines everyone’s sense of security.

When you march to the beat of Murphy Drummer, the impossible becomes the inevitable and the inevitable inescapably hysterical. All may regret the day they met Murphy Drummer, but none knows what they’d have done without him.

A riotous comedy of mayhem and miracles.

*Note* - Although Murphy’s Luck 2 is a sequal to Murphy’s Luck, it was purposely written so that one needn’t have read the first book to fully enjoy the second.

A sequel to Murphy's Luck (obviously) with the same light-hearted humorous look into what could happen if the phenomenon of Murphy's luck were taken to the extreme for one person. Even more than the original, this is a very Chauncey Gardner-esque tale of Murphy's phenomenal skills from years of learning hobbies, and his childlike wonder at the marvels of the world outside of his home base. Some of the elements and characters in the story were quite ridiculous, which I think was part of the author's point, but I did enjoy the way he tied it all up so neatly in the end. Even the bad guys got a little love. Light and humorous reading, suitable for a long ride on a plane or while walking on a treadmill.

I actually read this story before re-reading the first, so had completely forgotten everything from that one, it had been so long since I read it and so many books read in between! However, it's completely fine to read this one without reading the first, so that wasn't a problem. And trust me, you'll want to read this book - it's absolute chaotic, hilarious fun! LOVED it, and can't wait to see what the author does with these characters next. Hopefully lots more books to come in this series!
NB I received a complimentary copy of this book, but I always give an HONEST review based wholly on my own opinions

If this could be put into a movie it would be a box top stand out and humor does not normally attract me. However, the first and now this book are so spectacular I'd even pay to see if even special effects could pull this off. If you need to see the humor or even have something to laugh about then these books are for you.

Delightful

Where has Benjamin Laskin been all my life? It takes a very special mind to create such wonderfully weird humor. I've only just discovered Laskin. When I think of all the wasted years that I could have spent curled up with him.
But with all sincerity, if you enjoy laughing you'll enjoy this book.

Murphy’s not so misunderstood this time.

This was a comedy of errors for everyone around Murphy this time. This was very funny and heartwarming. The best thing to happen to Murphy was Joy. The addition of his daughter was adorable. I thoroughly enjoyed all the characters and the story.

I can't believe it's been three years since I read the first "Murphy's Luck". I had forgotten so much of it - guess I'll just have to re-read it. Anyway, this one is equally good, quirky and downright strange. For a change of pace, it's a perfect book. I rate it 4.8 stars.

RECOMMENDED

Murphy's Luck 2 continues the story of Murphy and his life. It is a
fun to read romp into and through the improbable. It may not
change your life, but it will put a smile on your face.

Wild, zany characters well larger than life! I have had a day here and there where things went haywire for a while. I cannot imagine jinxes following me wherever I went!! Things did not seem to be going well for Murphy, but he always found a way out. Quite a remarkable guy! If you just want a madcap adventure away from anything normal, then pick up one of these books!!

I loved book one in this series and I love this book too. I enjoy how different everything about this story is. The book made me laugh out loud a lot and during this Covid19 time, it is something to treasure. I love how humble Murphy is still after all this time. I love the relationship that Joy and Murphy have. In fact, I can't think of one thing I didn't like about this book. Well maybe that it ends but hey I see there is a book 3 L-)

Wonderful read

Reading this book was a marvelous was to spend a couple of books. This was a second read for this book (as well as the precursor). I feel privileged to still be alive (I'm 76 now) and ready to read #3. Thanks again.

Another awesome Misadventure for Murphy

It's all about perspective. A jinx can be a curse or a blessing when Murphy is involved. The author has an extraordinary imagination to create a story such as this series. I absolutely love the series and excited to read the next book.
