In other (strange) publishing news, I just discovered a chapter I wrote (and was paid for) but that didn't appear in the next edition of the book. Well, apparently it was then published in the 2018 edition. Huh. I also did some of the updates on earlier chapters.

A good text for the subject. It is a little alarmist in its cultural diversity and uses the label of People of Color for anyone who is not white, which I do not agree with. It also seems to limit its definition of culture to the differences between African-Americans, Euro-Americans, Native-Americans and Asian-Americans. This leaves no place for military culture, religious groups who have different cultures and different cultures based on abilities or gender choice.

This book is AMAZING. I had to read it for a grad school counseling program but honestly everyone would benefit from reading it. Such an incredible peek into so many cultures around the world. Can’t recommend it enough for any human hoping to have a deeper multicultural understanding of their fellow humans.

I've read this a few times now for different classes. It has a lot of good, general information on working with people from different cultural backgrounds. It's exactly what it says it is: a primer.
