Melisande Morgan must do everything in her power to save Saleem. Enlisting the help of Kailin, Nerina and the team, Mel must enter the djinn plane, risking the lives of those she cares about in order to save the man she loves.
But betrayal and lies lurk everywhere, and Mel most of all knows her own guilt. But first, she must save Saleem. Then she must face the consequences.
I have been a writer from the time I was old enough to recognise that reading was a doorway into my imagination. Poetry was my first foray into the art of the written word. Books were my best friends, my escape, my haven. I am essentially a recluse but this part of my personality is impossible to practise given I have two teenage daughters, who are actually my friends, my tea-makers, my confidantes...
My heart is currently broken in two. One half resides in South Africa where my old roots still remain, and my heart still longs for the endless beaches and the smell of moist soil after a summer downpour. My love for Ma Afrika will never fade. The other half of me has been transplanted to the Land of the Long White Cloud. The land of the Taniwha, beautiful Maraes, and volcanoes. The land of green, pure beauty that truly inspires. And because I am so torn between these two lands - I shall forever remain crosseyed.

Mel has finally gotten rid of her most unwanted passenger and now it's time to go save the Djinn in distress, Saleem. Getting the team together is one thing, getting into Mithras apparently is quite the other...
My take on the book: So here I was, excited that we were finally getting to save Saleem... then BAM... you cannot end a book just like that Tee!!!! I was so confused, I even scrolled back in the hope I misclicked on my Kindle... but nope, that was the end of the book *cry* Apart from that, as always, I did enjoy the book very much :)
We didn't go anywhere new in this instalment, so just Earth-World and a quick jump into Mithras and the ether, so world-building was fine. Scenes en environments were detailed and described very well making it easy as pie to immerse yourself in the story.
Character development was good, Mel finally got rid of that pesky haunting (yay), so this instalment we come across her quest to find out more about the Ni'amh, her guilt from the things she previously did and her determination to save Saleem with any means necessary. We learn a tad more about the rest of the group, the dynamics between cast members and their own trials and tribulations. I loved reading bits and pieces here and there that elude to stories to come (for example Cassie and our favourite Demon Overlord Lacroix).
Pacing and flow were excellent, thank god Mel didn't feel the need to jump all over the place and actually got some time to rest, okay... some of it was forced, but still! Enough time between the action for the story to evolve, getting everyone on the same page while giving them some breathing room for their own tale.
The book in itself was well written and I found no (noticeable) errors. There is no sex described (if that is important to you).
I voluntarily read an advanced reader copy of this book and all in all another great instalment! Even though the ending is pretty abrupt and I really want to know what happens next (patience is a virtue I don't really have actually) I must say, a very enjoyable read. As I've said before, it feels like everything is slowly coming together, all the different series. Kudos to the author for managing all this!
I’ve become quite addicted to the wonderful universes built by T.G. Ayer for her several different but connected DarkWorld series. Case in point is her wonderful SoulTracker series, of which Blood Moon is the fifth novel. Truly superior writing, plotting and advancing of a complex but understandable overarching storyline. I love the whole concept of the veil that separates universes and of those like Mel who can cross the veil. I love Mel and her adventures. I love the twists here of trying to extract Salem from the djinn realm and the surprising truths revealed. I love the supporting cast of characters. Bottom line here is easy to guess: I love this book. But for the fact that I’m literally dictating this review to my husband from my hospital bed I could go on and on with praises - these two books definitely deserve it. Since I can’t do that I will simply note that each book is most definitely “one to read”, and is easy to highly recommend.
First I just want to say "Tee, how can you do this to me?" I love all your books but I have to wait so long for the next one. Ms. Ayer is a talented writer, with the ability to draw the reader into the worlds she creates. If you read any of her series then you will surely enjoy this one and I'm not afraid to say is the best book yet. How long do I have to wait for the next chapter? We have all our favorite characters. Mel, Drake and Steph are joined by Natasha the white witch, Marina the death walker and of course Saleen. However Saleen is still held captive along with his mother the queen of the Djinn. Before Mel can mount a rescue mission to save Saleen she must rescue Kia and her mother Celeste from the Shadow wraith. I received an advanced copy of this book and have chosen to write this review.
“Right, it’s do or die. Let’s do this.” Mel is one of my favorite characters in the Dark World universe and that quote pretty much sets up this whole story. Here we have the major players assembled for the incursion into Mithras, the Djinn realm, and the rescue of Saleem who is currently being held captive there. The bonds are being strengthened among all these powerful beings, the five women of the Ni’amh being front and center. To say this is about “girl power” makes it sound trite, but most of the force here are powerful women who are straight shooters, fiercely loyal and passionate in both love and principles. These are women you want to know; the cool kids with whom you want to hang out. Such a great read! Fans of Annie Bellet and Lindsay Buroker will thoroughly enjoy the writing of T. G. Ayer. Highly recommended.
Blood Moon: A SoulTracker Novel #5: A DarkWorld Series (DarkWorld: SoulTracker)
I really loved ❤️❤️❤️ this book until the ending, then I got sad because the cliffhanger left me wanting so much more.... I thought we would finally get Saleem back.... but instead have t wait for the next issue... I guess that is good considering it would been a let down if we only had a few sentences of his release. I truly enjoyed how everyone came together in this book, for the mission and how tight the friends and colleagues are, they are finally starting to piece together some information about there rivalry company Omega.
These are wonderful stories with great characters who you can relate to. The characters are all good friends and the lengths they will go in their friendship are amazing. I’m so glad Mel is free from her demon and is out to rescue Saleem with a little help from her friends. This book gives more background information you wanted to know from previous stories. This book does leave you with a helluva cliffhanger, not Nice Tee that was cruel. I eagerly look forward to reading the next book. This one was great and I loved it.
This one is one you will want to get into that will wrap around but also continues to spin this series more solid. Mel by now has me so captivated I will follow her anywhere even into danger on that darn djinn plane. This one will have you twisted into knots and the world giving us a escape. She will also though show us not a ounce of mercy so beware. The other characters also make this one that will have you not leaving until you get some answers but then also it will be more than you expect.
I thought this book was better than the last book. It seems they keep getting better and better with each one. I love that there are so many different types of supernaturals in each book and new ones pop up from time to time. Makes the stories so much interesting. Love adventure and fantasy which this book sure had a lot of each. I can not wait for the next one to read.
This is a wonderful addition to the Soul Tracker Series. This action/adventure/paranormal storyline is amazing. Lies, deceit, rescue preparations and likable, relatable characters take you to this world and guide you through their story. I loved it. I voluntarily read an ARC and this is my honest review.
Mel's trials and tribulations continue, with her having to convince Saleem's mother to take an active part in saving him. Sometimes she has to be rather sneaky! This book is a beautifully detailed coming-together of parts of the story that I felt were previously a little disjointed, with more information about many characters and their history, and a synopsis of several earlier situations.
WOW! That was an exciting read! I couldn't put it down without my thoughts returning to the story. I got frustrated when my real world pulled me out of this amazing story, and I even dreamed about it in my sleep. It isn't often that a book catches my interest like that, and I am anxiously waiting the next adventure.
We ha e action galore in this book. Saving Kaitlin and her mom. Setting up a team to save Saleen. Then trying to get in to the dijinn realm. So many things effecting everything. The 5 are working together, so hopefully they will find out more about what’s going to happen with them. I received an arc copy for my honest review.
OMG! First up ... the end is a killer ... cliffhanger alert!
I love seeing the Team all together and everyone who needs to be mostly in the know! Saleem is in danger and Mel has to rescue her man. All kinds of issues pop up and just when you think you will get to figure out how it ends ... Nope! Ok ... next book please!
I enjoy reading this series. The idea of her ability is quite interesting.
Now that she doesn't have a "guest" the ability is less restricted, but there is SO much going on, and overlap between the various series, it is getting hard to keep track.
I was a bit disappointed, as the event the book had been building to....didn't happen.
The stakes are high in this fast paced sequel. It was a thrilling entertaining read. I love the characters and enjoyed meeting some new additions as well! I can’t wait for more! The story left with a bit of a cliff hanger and ah! I can’t wait for the next one!!
I loved the deeper view into the DarkWorld characters we received in Blood Moon. Mel is back and ready to gather the troops to save Saleem. Her journey in Blood Moon is full of twists and turns. I can’t wait for the next installment of her tale!
I hope there isn't a huge wait for the following book! Mel is on a mission to rescue Saleem. As she is gathering the troops- secrets are revealed, old enemies rear their ugly heads, new enemies are discovered and friendship bonds are strengthened. Cannot wait to see what's in store for the gang!
Suspense, Action, Magic, and a little romance to boot. This series is awesome! Ayers does a great job of endearing the characters to the reader. You become vested in what happens to them and you will root for them and boo the bad guys.
I have really enjoyed this series so far but I have to say this book fell short of being as good as the ones before it. It fell incomplete and rushed. It was only just ok
As always, another great book by TG Ayer! The characters are always wonderfully well developed and the story world is always realistic and believable. I can't recommend T.G. Ayer enough!
Mel got her team together to rescue Saleem. Not only did they capture him when he went to check on his little brother who is ruling the kingdom since their mothe’s disappearance two years earlier, and Saleem left to find their mother because she would have never just left on her own like that. Mel and the Death talker steal a portal key after the head Death Talker refuses to make one for their rescue of Saleem. When they use it the next night to make the appointed time it explodes. Once again I have to stop here because of spoilers. It’s bad enough that I just did a small one just now. As always good reading. 😇
