Losing a parent is an incredibly painful and difficult experience under the best of circumstances. Losing a narcissistic parent is not only painful and difficult, but also filled with complicated emotions and circumstances. "When a Narcissistic Parent Dies" is designed to help the reader find ways to cope during this challenging time, create ways to deal with people who do not understand, as well as help the reader make difficult decisions such as whether or not to visit a dying parent or attend the funeral.
My dad was a text book narcissist. He died last year. I was thankful because my mom was finally free of him! But then I had guilt and also missed him. It's a roller coaster of emotions! I didn't completely connect with this book because my mom was not a narcissist as well. I did enjoy the book and it did help. I have high lighted many passages in it. I enjoyed the Bible scriptures throughout. If you're not a religious person, this book may not be for you.
