Rate this book
Small-town romance, set in magical Norway!

Drama and misunderstandings await when Sara returns home to the idyllic town of Solvik, to pursue her dreams of starting both a new career and a family. Despite her enthusiastic personality and the possibility of a gorgeous man in her life, things just don't seem to be going her way. Sara feels guilty about following her dream of opening a bakery if it means disaster for the old lady running the town's only bakery. And with her love of everything sweet, Sara is on a collision course with her future mother-in-law, who is a real health freak.

When new rivals appear out of nowhere - with secrets no one could even imagine - this cozy town on the Norwegian coast is again the venue of intrigue.

Time for True Love is the second book in the Solvik series - small-town love stories with a dash of suspense. It's a stand-alone novel.

Poor Sara, Poor Phillip and vile Ingerlise *spoilers ahead*

I enjoyed this book. It was well-written.

The characters are what got me. Poor Sara....if I were her...I would have not been with Phillip and his drama.

Poor Phillip needed to grow a backbone and tell everyone off. I'm glad this finally happened.

Vile, horrid Ingerlise. I hated her character. She was such a stalker. She deserves to be in jail for what she did.

Nelly...the monster-in-law from hell. No thanks! You don't just marry one person, it's the whole family.

Now...if I were Sara I would have ran off with Ricco. Sometimes people rethink life and deserve a second chance. He was honest with her, put her first when he realized that his feelings had changed and not nearly so much drama. Even his mother loved and approved of Sara.

Sometimes characters take the road less traveled but it seems like poor Sara went into a downward spiral with Phillip and that circus.

That being said, there is growth among the characters and they weave a tale that would warrant an invitation to be on Jerry Springer! Very glad for the positive ending.

The descriptions of food make me alternately want to buy a bakery and eat cupcakes.

Definitely recommended!!

A sweet romance set in a small town in Norway. There are some really interesting characters in this book, some you wouldn't want to go anywhere near. There are also lots of lovely cakes that I shouldn't go anywhere near. I like that you really get to know this small town, having read the first book in the series, and something of the culture of Norway.

Loved that the writer included interesting facts about Norway and Solvick that pertain to the setting and details in the story. You've got to love a place where they still honor a day of rest and offices and stores are closed on Sunday. Well, I do anyway.
Sarah is looking for a baking position in Solvick but instead opens her own business. Phillip is a dentist who leaves his girlfriend and her son and moves to Solvick to take over his father's business. When Sarah meets Phillip sparks fly and it looks like there might be a chance for romance. But a meddling mother, ex-girlfriends and boyfriends have definite plans to stop this new love from blossoming.
And did I mention the food? This book is loaded with yummy sweet treats - indulgence verses health, while love grows and finds a way of letting go.
The author weaves you into the lives of the characters, and readers are sure to connect and relate to their diversity.
Warning: Bring a drink and a sweet treat to this book reading. Highly recommended.

I loved reading about Solvik, the small town in Norway, and Sara, who was such a great character in the first book that I loved finding out about her life. She's one character that I would love to meet in real life, especially because she makes sweet treats.

Warning: Don't read this book while on a diet because it'll make you break it. The author does such a great job of describing the deserts that I needed to find a sweet after reading a section.

Seriously, I've fallen in love with the small town of Solvik and want to visit one day.

Can't wait for the next book.

Having read the first Solvik book, I was looking forward to reading the sequel, and I wasn't disappointed. These cozy romances, set in a fictional town in Norway, are a great read, with characters you can relate to.
Sara wants to follow her ambition of setting up a bakery in Solvik, but doesn't want to ruin the livelihood of the town's only other bakery. Add in an interfering health freak, a possible future boyfriend, and an Italian ex-boyfriend, and the story gets very interesting!
This is a lovely story that will have you reaching for the cinnamon buns while you read, with mouth-watering recipes at the end of some of the cakes mentioned in the book.

Barfelt's fourth book in her Solvick Series plops us in the middle of a family's drama brought on by the protagonists father's will.
Each member of the family must embrace major lifestyle and social shifts to fulfill his wishes.
For the first time in the fictional town of Solvick, Norway, not all of the life-long residents are pleased to see an updated business thrive. But who's sabotaging its success ...
Once again, I was swept away into a wonderfully descriptive, well written story in Norway, which is now on my travel bucket list. Although, I felt the last two chapters were rushed to benefit the desire for a happy ending.

Refreshing and entertaining return to idyllic Solvik, where new complications and unexpected challenges await. Great fun to meet new charismatic personalities, in addition to the pleasant reunion with familiar characters from the first book in the Solvik-series, Vondt i viljen. As always with series, I recommend reading the first book before the second to fully appreciate all the characters and background history. The author has her own unique style and it works superbly. The book is fun and easy to read with quick repartee and a good drive. Looking forward to the third book in the series.

Being Norwegian, I appreciated the setting. The main characters included some really serious manipulators, as well as some very sweet and tender others. The bakery was a neat setting, including all the references to specific goodies.

Time in Solvik

I loved Sara’s story of discovering a new career and a new love as she followed her heart and stayed true to herself while she found her own HEA. Time for True Love is another enjoyable opportunity to spend time in Solvik meeting all the townsfolk. I highly recommend reading Time for True Love!

I like the way it's written. It kept my attention and I will read the others I have of Mette Barfelt. This is the first one I've read. I didn't like Phillip. He's not very likable. He's not strong or thinks for himself. Frankly, he's a doormat.
