Mantras in Motion: Manifesting What You Want through Mindful Movement

Rate this book
Mind-body wellness and fitness expert combines mantra, self-reflection, and movement into an accessible 14-day routine for manifesting your best self.

Holistic wellness and fitness expert Erin Stutland harnesses all the body's mental, physical, and spiritual energy in her tri-fold approach to creating change. When you move your body while repeating mantras--speaking your desires aloud--manifesting is no longer a purely intellectual exercise or an occasional craft project. Instead, you are expressing your passion through your voice and your body, putting every ounce of your energy in service of what you want.

Each chapter breaks down one mantra to use to focus on a key step to achieving your best self, including unearthing your desires, releasing resistance, and taking inspired action. Alongside each mantra, Stutland provides stories from her own life and those of her clients, a meditation or visualization, a journaling exercise, and an easy movement to accompany the mantra to help enhance its resonant power. And to put it all together, you are provided with a 14-day plan so you can design the life you want, infusing the power of movement, mantra, and self-reflection.

Just got both kindle and audible of Erin’s book, I’ve been following her for several years, soul stroll, Facebook, emails, say it sweat it get it challenges, etc. This girl’s energy is inspiring, gets me to do things I’m sometimes afraid to, and run faster than I thought I could, and so much other things. What she does is amazing and I’m sure we will have so much more to hear from her!
I loved listening her book!

I'm a fan of Erin and her workouts. They are great, I particularly love her Soul Strolls. I've been following her on Instagram for awhile and joined her Movement for awhile. So everything in this book was familiar and for the most part already known.
However, I highly recommend to someone starting a self-development journey. She covers a lot of the bases but with a movement twist. Figure out what you want, release resistance, change your beliefs, take action, make space, ect.
Lots of journal prompts and meditations throughout the book to get to know yourself and guide you along the way.
Her mantras are catchy and easy to remember. I love all the rhymes. She has some content on YouTube I recommend if your interested in knowing more about her.

Dancing to Mantras

I liked this book. My cats, not so much, why? I’m not much of a dancer or anything close. So, when I got up to move with the mantras it disrupted their day and I heard about it! This was great because it kept me focused and present plus I kept moving.

I worked each lesson as they came up in the book and having the Kindle version was a huge plus. Writing down the questions is easier when we can while writing. The questions are in-depth and by answering them I was able to answer questions for three other books. Go through the questions and then apply them. Listen to the author about how to address those who won’t accept the new you. This includes cats since we’re still dancing and moving during all mantras and affirmations!

I love the idea of mixing mantras with movement so I purchased this book when the ebook was on sale. It's taken me a bit to finally read through it. I've learned for these type of books that if I wait to do each little exercise before I continue reading, I won't finish. It will just sit there for years. Now I read through, tag the exercises (easy to do in an ebook) and go back to work on them when I feel I need.

The structure is a different set of movements and a mantra for each chapter. Before you get to the movements, the author shares stories from her life and includes some journaling exercises and meditations to bring up things that the movement will bring out of your body. Some of the exercises and suggestions I recognize from other authors but I did like how she brought it all together. The stories were interesting and it was an easy read from that perspective.

One big problem I had with this book is that the movements hurt my body. I'm sure they're great if you don't have joint or back issues, but I couldn't focus on what I was supposed to be thinking about when doing the mantras because I was so focused on making sure my body was ok. Maybe this gets better the more you do them but I'm actively looking for Tai Chi moves that are similar but more gentle. To be fair, she does say if they are difficult shorten the range of motion or modify. She said if they are very challenging, sit and a chair and do the upper body motions, so I'm going to try that first.

Near the end of the book, she's put together a 14 day plan, combining a mantra and a daily activity to tie the themes together. I'm excited to try this.

I signed up for the gifts that are supposed to come with the book but when I clicked on the link, there was nothing on the page except old Instagram posts which don't even follow through. (Pretty sure Instagram broke all the links because I've seen this elsewhere.) This is really frustrating. I get that the book has been out for a while now but it's still on sale. I would have liked to see the movements to see if maybe I'm not doing them right and that's why I'm hurting, but I'm on my own.

I started this book some time ago. I have wanted to pick it back up many times. The reminder is on my GoodReads. I restarted it today, 5/7/25, and I am very excited about it. Reading the comments, I learned there is a kindle version and audio version too. I love it when an author thinks about the mantras, meditations and others that are more helpful in an audio recording. Can't wait to dive back in.

I really loved listening to Mantras in Motion. The book is so inspiring and beautifully written, and there is something special about listening to Erin reading it. You can hear her smiling as she reads aloud.

Really enjoyed digging through the journal exercises in this book. I appreciate the movements she included with her mantras but I will be using my own movement with her ideas. Solid ideas and concepts here. Do the journal work.
