Originally published in 1946, Guernsey Under German Rule was the first account of the German Occupation of this Channel Island during World War 2. This second edition, with a Foreword by the Bailiff of Guernsey and a new biographical introduction, is being published to mark the 75th anniversary of the Guernsey Society.
An excellent look into what life was like at the time, and a good indication of how people felt without being too personal and biased. It must also have been compiled at great danger to him and his family, and as someone who was never given the opportunity to learn about this in school, his dedication and courage in writing this are greatly appreciated.
