Nameless One
Born as the result of a torrid affair, rejected by his people and banished to a life of misery.
Exiled in life, the Nameless One is bound to a life of servitude. Of endless wishes being granted to unscrupulous masters, greedy and salacious lives being created.
There must be more to life than the pain and suffering that must be endured as penalty for indiscrete liaisons? Perhaps a life on opposite planes could be the salvation. Or does it just toy with the futile hopes of a distressed soul that imagines an existence of forbidden love and contentment.
The future is never certain but one must always be ready to grasp life if an unexpected opportunity is presented.

In this land, unwanted children are abandoned at the enchanted forest entrance.
Faine is one of those children. He grows and thrives under the care and love of Sylvonna, the "old" lady who takes in these children and loves them like they are her own.
In another place and another time there is another young person who is different than his peers. He is different from everyone and lives a life trying to stay away from the attention of the elders. He has no name...they call him the "Nameless One". When a human comes to his realm and shows him some attention, he cannot stay away. But this comes at a price. For the elders believe he is evil, just like his mother and therefore he must be punished. His punishment is to spend an eternity serving others.
This is one of the most different and unique books I have ever read. The whole premise was interesting. The writing will not be for everyone. There are things that could have been explained more or expanded on. There were things that needed fleshing out. There's no graphic sex. I did not care at all. The story itself held me captive.
The mc's don't even meet until after 50% which is usually a negative for me. But here, we get both of their backstories which was interesting in itself. Just the whole thing is unique.
I would recommend this if you are looking for something truly different. It's short so it doesn't take long to read. Like I said, the writing won't be for everyone but the story itself is worth the time.

Those who lived in the enchanted forest were not like the people from the surrounding towns. They were the ones who had been unceremoniously abandoned at the edge of the forest by the townsfolk. These unfortunate babes and young children were either unwanted, disabled, or just different. Some parents didn’t care whether their child perished or not, and they wanted them out of their lives.

A book full of secrets of the beauty of life in its purest form
i feel small and humble after such great words I just read. i want to scream to the world "ive got a pearl in my hands with promises that we all can heal not only ourselfs but eachother. We all can have a HEA "
I cried and cried it touched my soul.
There are believes in this books I know so by myself. I know them and feel them.
I am so glad I found someone who wrote this down.
My deepest wishes for this world is described in this book
Like his wings burned with love and anticipation so was my heart

If a story was judged on writing talent alone, this would be a 5-star read... BUT, there are the grammatical errors to consider (missing words are a pet peeve for me... sorry) and of course, there is the whole point of reading... Did you enjoy it? I can appreciate the talent that went into writing this beautiful piece of art, but neither the style nor the subject appealed to me. I suppose it would be better explained by me saying that I have never been fond of fairytales, fantasy or even dressing up for Halloween. (I know, I am weird!) I can see why this is so well liked and I am amazed by the talent of this author. So, I will mark this down as one that I was glad that I read... but would probably never read again. I do plan to read another book by Ms. Lamb, sometime in the future, just to satisfy my curiosity about her overall writing style! :D

Almost, but not quite. I liked the idea behind this fairytale but the writing was extremely confusing at times and there wasn't enough worldbuilding. Also, sometimes I feel like the author used words that didn't quite fit with the fairy tale writing style...

Very monotonous. It was somewhat OK for the first half, but short after I stopped caring for pretty much everything and everyone, save for those poor sheep lost in the snow storm. They trusted Faine to keep them safe and instead he took them up the frozen mountain to feed on frigging snow, cause - duh! - good luck finding grass during a nor'easter.
I believe I finished the book, but maybe I skipped too many pages in the end, I don't know... I need coffee.
1.6 stars.
Poor sheep, tho :( And wolves. At least the nameless could have let them finish the dead ones. Wolves need to eat, too.

This was a quite interesting fairytale but nothing too striking, at least for me. I wanted to read more about the main characters in the present than what happened to each one of them in the past and in such detail at that. Somehow the fact that the story was written as a fairytale, while being a tad incoherent with all the info about the forest, Sylvonna, and the Nameless one’s past diminished my reading pleasure.
The language btw. was much better compared to all other books of the same author I came across so far. I’d say she could produce a lot more entertaining books if she shakes off this inner shyness one can feel in her stories and works with a good editor to help her polish the style.

This is a new author to me and I've not read this kind of book much....It's a bit of genie in a bottle but the Nameless one was so much more....He was banished because of who he was attracted to and because of his mother...When he comes across Faine he meets his soul mate....this was done really well.....I loved how it was written and so easy to follow.....I'm hoping there'll be more as I'd love to see more of this world....A really easy read that keeps you turning the pages x

Another myth and fairy tale type of story from Lily Lamb, this time giving a backstory of punishment for being different and outraging social customs just by being who he is to the Genie of the bottle who features in the well-known Aladdin story, with M/M romance also woven in.
It’s a testament to the imagination of the author, who looks at this character from another tale and thinks, ‘What is his story?’ We tend to accept characters as they are presented to us in such simple stories, without giving a second thought to the circumstances which led them to the where they are now. This is storytelling in the old-fashioned oral manner, albeit written down, which is largely being lost these days; it’s in the tradition of itinerant storytellers who travelled from place to place and entertained the locals. If they had an engaged audience who wanted more then it was part of the skill of the storyteller to extend and embroider the tales they were telling.
As such, it’s a page-turner, an easy and engaging read, and I look forward to more of Ms Lamb’s skilfully-told stories.

This book was a perfect holiday (re-)read for me. The story is absolutely magical! So completely different from 99% of the MM stories out there, it reads like a fairy tale even though Lily used the plot to skillfully emphasize many issues present in nowadays’ society – discrimination against minorities , bullying, bigotry are all woven in the story together with their counterparts: friendship, kindness, unconditional love. It was a beautiful portrayal of human nature with all its flaws and, thankfully, with all its beauty too.
I feel honored that Lily chose me to make this wonderful book’s cover. Thank you Lily!

Yet again this author has done it again. Such an amazing book, and addicting to read. From the beginning until the end. I love how the main character was more so-called the Nameless One. How it was just only that. It was so enchanting. Like from the moment you start the book it is addicting! I love the concept of it being a male-to-male love story in the process of the main character going through his journey. It was an emotional attachment, and I loved it! Lily Lamb is a great author!

The author has a wonderful way with words and when she allies her writing experience to her adult themed fairy-stories, something magical happens. Yes the magic, fantasy and a feeling of the ancient is in the stories but all of that meanders into the writing as well.
On one update to my reading, I observed that it was a beautiful story, beautifully told and I hold by that observation having now finished the novel.
If you enjoyed fairy-tales as a child, enjoy being transported to another magical world in your adult life and enjoy good writing then this could be the novel for you to lose yourself in. Winning over evil, conquering self doubt, curing of illness and all wrapped up in myth and lore, this book had it all. A thoroughly good read and deserved of five stars.

Beautiful Love Story!
I loved reading this beautiful love story! This book has so many different elements in it. It has magic, pain, thrill, action, betrayal, fantasy, acceptance, compassion and most importantly LOVE!
A life of a genie ‘ NAMELESS ONE’ meeting his soulmate after a long hard life gives hope that everyone deserves love and should never stop looking for it! The characters are so well written that you start to care about what would happen to them as the story progresses.
I highly recommend this beautifully written book. Kudos to the author!

Faine and Egann
The title is interesting. Lily knows how to create intriguing fantasy and romance into the novel. Sylvonna is also an interesting character who has a connection with nature and also looked after Faine after he was abandoned at birth by his family. The Nameless is a dragon type human that was punished and treated cruely and received the name Egann. It's worth reading.

Another lovely story by Lily Lamb. I loved how she took a story most are familiar with and redid it. Definitely a must read!

I really liked this michevious tale. Spicy, sassy and unique. I can see the potential for this one to be a series or a great big story. I would have liked to see more showing and less telling, but i have no doubt that this author will twist and tweek it into pure magic. Good job

First off, I tend not to rate books low, a three-star for me is two or one star from most other people. I'm not saying this book was bad the plot was good however the execution was lacking quite a bit.
There was alot of missing dialogue and those let my suspension of disbelief slip, bringing me out of the story and leaving me frustrated. As such I'm only going to give 3 stars as that's a deal breaker for me usually, but the rest if the book was beautifully written, even if it seemed like English may not have been the authors first language, what with the odd usages of oversimplifying everything including scenes that should have had more action and chaos in them.
It was also short. Much too short. Barely got to know the main character before being shipped off to the secondary main character's backstory, then having that lead back into the here and now of the main character. As much as this would work in maybe a fanfiction setting, it doesn't work very well if it's in an actual book that's using original characters. I knew very little of the personality, thoughts and wants of the main character, before being whisked away to learn in depth about how the secondary main character's mind and fears work, and the imbalance of the two characters kept me from liking this book as much as I would be able to if it was actually properly written out.
For me this felt more like something that I would find on wordpress.com and I'm glad it's a $1 or free book, this way I don't feel bad about rating it low and chastising it.
There was also an entire section inside of the book where it says a character hears somebody say something, that I reread the passage about three or four times and it never was stated. That straight-out angered me to the point where I had to stop reading for a little while, as it just ripped me from the book and seemed like the author was trying to rush finishing this book because they lost interest in it at the end or something. This wasn't the first time in said book there seemed to be dialogue missing, however, this was the biggest culprit.
And then the ending, oh dear....
Making it just a rushed fairytalesque ending just cemented it for me that the author didn't want to continue and just wanted to bring their hands clean of the characters and setting that had seemingly been lovingly made, or at least had seemed lovingly made, in the rest of the book. I'm saddened by the lack of care, and hope to find a different book now to sate my need for loving mate fantasy I was hoping that this would be.

I picked up The Nameless One because I was intrigued by the title and the reference to the genre as an adult mythological story. At first I found the highly descriptive characters and setting a little overdone, perhaps because there is a lot of narrative with little dialogue. But once I settled in to the story I began to appreciate the vivid images. I particularly enjoyed how the character’s lives intersect and the whisperings from nature. The story well illustrates the harmful effects of hatred and harsh treatment and conversely the benefits of unconditional love and acceptance. I enjoyed how the love and acceptance given were because of who the characters are and not what they look like. Occasionally the book resonated with The Golem and the Jinni by Helen Wecker.

This book had a great story but poor development, by which I mean that I really liked the premise and could have really liked the characters too, but unfortunately neither of them actually underwent any changes in the story. Things happened to them and they reacted to them, but I didn’t get the feeling that either character was fully-rounded or even really three-dimensional – they were just kind of ‘there.’ The length of the book didn’t bother me at all, as I love short stories and novellas, and the story didn’t feel rushed at all, but neither did it feel fully-told to me. A shame, because again, excellent premise, and I would have happily read more of the story if there had actually been more to it, like some kind of greater or more complex conflict, as opposed to what felt essentially nearly all like backstory. I also couldn’t help but notice the numerous punctuation errors and occasional sentence structure problems, which could easily have been resolved with a decent editor on board. Despite this, I enjoyed the read overall and would read more from this author in the future.

What an enchanting read.
With an old world fairytale feel reminiscent of Grimm's Fairytale with a softer edge and an mm twist, the author took me back to when I first fell in love with reading. I loved the similarities to Beauty and the Beast and Little Red Riding Hood yet completely it's own story. I have a feeling that the author shares the same reading roots as I and the respect is shown here. I have read several books that have taken on the fairytale theme but it's rare to find one who not only embraced it, but has given it new life and made it soar. A beautiful read from start to finish. The fact that there aren't any sex scenes, instead the author kept true to the feel of the story with suggested emotional scenes. It was the perfect approach. I highly recommend this book and look forward to whatever delights Lily Lamb has in store for us.

A previously purchased copy of this wonderful story from a beautiful story teller. A weaving of fates and magical beings to a story line telling you be be accepted as you are, and not to be afraid to show ones self. 4.5 stars for this tale
A tale of a 18 year old boy who'd been brought up by the old lady in the forest as she did all other young infants being left, un-cared by the outsiders who did want them.
The boy, Faine was different shy an innocent who like other boys unfortunately he'd not found a mate. This boy was extra special to the forest. The forest whispered a sad tale of one being trapped in a bottle begging to be freed.
The tale was indeed true for the Nameless one was punished for a crime he do and forced into a bottle..now freed by the chap who falsely accused him set him free..

I really enjoyed the story of Faine & The Nameless One. It was a well written emotional fairy tale that makes these characters come alive. It draws you in & makes you feel a wealth of emotions for both of these men. You feel their pain, fear, hope & then their joy throughout the tale. My heart broke a little for both Faine & The Nameless One & I'm really glad that as in all good fairy tales that they got their happily ever after. 4.5 Stars

What an interesting take on the story of the genie in the bottle. This gay romantic story told in a wonderful style of fairytale, enchants the reader and transports you into the realms of magic and immortal beings. No matter how cruel life has been to the nameless one he still manages to keep his kind and compassionate heart that at the end wins him a name and unconditional love. Written in a typical fairytale style this novel is sure to capture all lovers of the genre.

Once again, Lily has drawn me into a magical world filled with love, drama, and the angst of prolonged suffering. This time it is a bullied winged man beast, so shunned by his community for being half human and half beast that they don’t deem him worthy of being given a name.
Then when he dares to connect with a human the elders condemn him to the life of a slave in a brass bottle until one of his masters (no spoilers) uses a wish to free him. Until then, the poor creature endures countless years of torture when summoned to fulfill three selfish wishes to each new master and returned to his bottle prison.
