Jen Appleton is the woman who always says yes. To her boss. To her employees. To charity. To everyone except herself. But when she rear-ends a red Porsche on her way home from a nasty day at work, and the man driving the midlife-crisis cliché turns out to be hot, hot, hot, Jen decides tonight’s the night to say yes to things she’s never said yes to before.

Yes, to a one-night stand in a motel.

Yes, to the hottest night on record.

Yes, to anything Garrett Tracy wants to do to her body.

Garrett knows the chemistry between them can only be described as extreme. But it’s just one night. And then he can get back to work convincing his ex-girlfriend to give him another shot.

When Jen approaches Garrett as the only person in Chicago who might solve her massive work problem, he agrees to help—on the condition that Jen will coach him in winning back his ex. As they work on their projects, Jen and Garrett can’t resist the incredible attraction sparking between them. It’s the perfect friends-with-benefits situation. Until Jen’s heart finally forces her to start saying no.

There are only three things Michelle Dayton loves more than sexy and suspenseful novels: her family, the city of Chicago, and Mr. Darcy. Michelle dreams of a year of world travel – as long as the trip would include weeks and weeks of beach time. As a bourbon lover and unabashed wine snob, Michelle thinks heaven is discussing a good book over an adult beverage.

The start of Fast Ride was perfect! The way Garrett and Jen met was sexy, unique, and cute—hello, Red Porsche! What started off as instant chemistry and a one night stand, ended up being something so much more. Something insanely hot. I’d like to go ahead and say the sex scenes were on point!

When I say the chemistry that held the two main characters together was what made the book, believe me. I felt the emotions deep within my soul. Now I’m all giddy wanting to read the book again.

Jen is having a very bad day—her work life isn’t going great and then to top it all off, she gets into a fender bender with a sleek and sexy Porsche. The fine specimen that walks out of that car, is on a whole other level. The two immediately start easy banter, that eventually leads them to the crappy motel they pulled into when Jen hit Garrett’s car.

It starts to become a thing every time they meet—scorching hot kisses that lead into more. Much more. Until they can no longer deny the beautiful feelings they have for each other. Overall, if you’re looking for a book that’s hot, sexy, and all kinds of romantic, this is for you!

Fast Ride is a story about finding love when you least expect it. Jen and Garrett have massively hot chemistry from the get-go and act on it, the problem is each has their eye on someone else and they decide to help each other get their respective man/woman, tables turn and throughout their plan they end up falling for each other.  Fast ride is funny, sexy and full of heart, a great read for a day at the beach or a couple of hours to escape from reality.

Don't let the title fool you, this book has nothing to do with races and fast cars.A Ferrari might be involved, but there is nothing more than that. The blurb does a great job of explaining what is going on in this book without giving away too much, so there is no need for me to say anything about the story. I couldn't understand why the hero was so fixed on his ex-girlfriend until he admitted some things to himself and I could finally see why he was so hung up on a woman who made it clear that she didn't care much about him. I liked the heroine's part of the bargain more. I wanted to see how she was going to make the board give her everything her team needed in order to function properly without killing themselves.I also liked the groveling and the hero earned some points for that. I didn't like him as much as I liked the heroine to be honest, but at least he was decent. The book was a medium meaning that it wasn't bad, but it also wasn't good. I would recommend it though,

Color me surprised

I'd never heard of this author. Don't even know when - or why - I downloaded the sample of this book because it's not something I would normally choose. But I read through it anyway fully expecting it to suck...and wound up loading the entire thing.
I loved it, and the joke is on me.

Yeah, this is steamy, very much so, but it isn't filthy, smutty kink. The sex scenes aren't described with a load of gutter words, either. The MC's chemistry is pretty much through the roof and was what got them together, after all, but it didn't overtake the plot.
I honestly enjoyed this couple. They both had some minor issues but no huge drama generators. They felt like real people. Garrett wasn't some control freak alpha and Jen didn't take leave of her self-respect over him and I loved it that they were equally bossy with each other. It was cute and sexy and pretty darn hot.
For a light, quick read there was an actual plot with depth.

The other characters were likable too, and the dialogue was natural as it gets.
I really wasn't expecting this book to have so much heart, but I'm sold. This choice was a solid win.

When I read the blurb about Jen being someone who is always a “yes” woman, I knew I had to read this story. As one myself, I wanted to see/read how she got out of the mindset to help and please everyone.

I think Jen and Garrett were the perfect match. They can both help each other out except they have too much chemistry to remain just Friends with benefits.

A good story that I hope Justin gets as well!

No rating a dnf for me

I am not sure what it was exactly but just wasn't connecting with the characters and/or storyline. Everything between them started off so quick and kinda for me, unbelievable.

Jen Appleton wants her boss, but he doesn't treat her any different than as an employee. So, maybe it's time to move on and when she rear-ends an expensive car, she can't help but say yes to a night of passion with the man driving. However, she soon finds herself becoming more involved with Garrett Tracy in an effort to help him get his ex back. Will Jen and Garrett be able to walk away from each other once she's helped him or will they fight for their chance at happy ever after?

This is the second book I've read by Ms. Dayton, and I've got to say that she had me hooked from the very beginning of this story, as the heroine isn't having the best of days and I couldn't help but think it was going to get worse before it got better. However, in saying that, I loved the direction this author took this story, as the heroine could use a little good in her life and Garrett is certainly just what she needs to turn around her horrible day.

As for the dialogue, it was intense due to the main characters back stories and the obstacles these two face to be together including whether the heroine can manage to get her way when it comes to her career and whether the hero will realize that getting back with his ex isn't his best option. Moreover, both the main characters were fantastic and I loved the heroine's determination to help the hero, especially because her ideas are certain to make his ex jealous. I also liked how strong and brave the heroine is when it comes to fighting for what she wants. No way will she back down and I liked how far she was willing to go to get what she wants. Will everything work out for the best or will it backfire? Yet, what I liked most of all about the heroine was how supportive the secondary characters are of her because she's a good boss.

While the hero, he's confident, successful, a good brother, smart and I liked how determined he was to help the heroine. His ideas are brilliant, which is proven by what the heroine ends up getting in return for accepting his advice. However, in saying that, I couldn't help but be a little frustrated with the hero because why settle for his ex when he could have love in his life. Certainly, he and his ex aren't right for each other and wanting to get back with her was for all the wrong reasons. Yet, what I liked most of all about the hero was the close relationship he had with his brother and how his brother pushes him when it comes to making the right choice. What a way for his brother to get him to realize how he feels.

Overall, Ms. Dayton has delivered a really good read in this book where the chemistry between this couple was intense; the romance was steamy and does justice to this couple's strong chemistry; and the ending had me loving what the hero does to win the heroine back. Really, it had me smiling because the heroine wasn't at fault this time. In fact, she was at the right place at the right time. I would recommend Fast Ride by Michelle Dayton, if you enjoy the fake relationship trope or books by authors Tessa Bailey, Jennifer Crusie, Lucy Parker and Julie James.

Let me preface this by saying:

1. I generally hate contemporary romance.
2. I don't like watching sports.
3. I don't like heroes who give heroines nicknames.
4. Dark moments in romance often make me roll my eyes.
5. I think Chicago-style hot dogs are gross.
6. I haven't had a good book hangover in eight months.

I know I don't sound like a romance fan, but I am. It can just be really hard to find something that resonates with me. And yet. AND YET, my friends. This little novella melted my cold, cynical heart.

1. I loved the characters *because* they were contemporary. They seemed like kind, funny people I would want to know in real life. The length is perfect because there is plenty of room for the relationship to develop, but their problems don't devolve into shenanigans.

2. Thanks to the author's deft descriptions, I mentally cheered during the softball game scene and actually understood what was happening. (Who am I now? Do I somehow like sports? What is happening to me?)

3. The hero's nickname for the heroine is so damn endearing and more importantly, not overused.

4. This couple's hangups were so genuine and I hate to use this word, but they were relatable. Instead of being irritated that they couldn't admit their feelings to each other right away, I understood their emotional process. I understood why it took time for them to finally put their hearts on the line.

5. I still don't like Chicago hot dogs, but somehow the description made me want one??

6. I'm going to go stare at a wall or something until I can get over this much-needed book hangover.

This was such a great read, with hot scenes, with funny moments, with smart characters. It is a very quick read, not only because of the length, but also because it is very easy to absorb the story and appreciate the characters.

Everything starts with a bump. More or less… and a spilled yogurt that cased a sexy dress, that affected the guy whose car got hit. Ok, you get the point from the blurb! She hits him, they feel the attraction, they have a one night stand (or so they say) which is also a base for a beautiful friendship. He wants to get back with his ex, she wants to attract her boss’ attention. So they both are not available. They are just friends with an awesome benefit.

I know you may have heard the story before, but the way the friendship between them grows is beautifully presented and that one night spent in a cheap hotel allows them to know each other and know parts of themselves that even they did not know. They are free of limitations, inhibitions and rules. They start to build something based on honesty and mutual help. I liked that very much! No character is too bitchy or too jealous, but they are intense in … some moments, if you get what I mean!

Suffice to say that this first book in the “Tracy Brothers” series is fabulous and I cannot wait to read the next story!5 out of 5 stars! I loved the writing, I loved the characters and I loved the plot! Check it out 🙂

Fast Ride was a book that I really loved, but wished was longer, although it packed a punch. Jen's the type of woman who always puts everyone before herself, and always says yes to whatever anyone needs. After a particularly horribly bad day at work, she literally runs into Garrett Tracy, or his expensive car that is, and things look up when she spends the hottest night of her life with him. But then he needs her help getting his ex back, and she agrees to help him. See, Jen & Garrett have serious chemistry that shot sparks out of my kindle, which lead to sexy times that lit the sheets up, so it was frustrating that Garrett was so fixated on getting his ex back. So the push & pull had me on the edge of my seat singing colorful metaphors, as Garrett really pissed me off with that situation because I was #TEAMJEN all the way! And I know that Jen could have said no, and she probably should have, but her heart was big, and I really wanted to junk punch a lot of people for taking advantage of her because of that. Obviously there was a cast of secondaries that added some serious anger for me, and others depth & humor to the story, (excited to see certain ones get their own stories), so yeah, Michelle Dayton has a talented writing style that has brought out my emotions as I was all in with Fast Ride! HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Fast Ride is the first book by Michelle Dayton that I've read. Color me impressed. I love finding new authors. This is a quick read, less than 200 pages. To be honest, I've always found this to the be about the perfect length for a romance novel. Its all those Harlequin novels I read in high school.

Michelle crafted characters that were fun and likable. Jen and Garrett really have a great chemistry together and the premise of getting Jen to help him win back his ex is a great one. Now granted since this is a romance novel you know how things are going to end up, but it is a wild ride getting there.

The sex between Jen and Garrett is so hot that the pages sizzle. It is really hard to figure out what Garrett sees in Melissa, because they really don't seem to have anything in common, when anytime he's with Jen, they have a great time, and well lots of smoking hot sex.

Yeah, there's a lot of sex here. My dad would call this a smut novel and I wouldn't argue with him, but its the good kind of smut novel because the characters actual have feelings for each other and well, when Garrett went to visit Jen's work friend in the hospital, well you know he's a great guy.

Totally a fun read! It is perfect for a day at the beach. I look forward to reading more of Michelle's books.

*ARC*

I was pleasantly surprised by Fast Ride. I have to admit when I signed up for this one I was curious but also cautious because I have been in a certain mood as of late and this book is opposite of that mood. Fast Ride was a book I easily read in one afternoon, it is a good book to relax on the couch and just read. It was funny, sexy, and sweet and so much more that you will discover once you give this one a chance. While I can’t say that I was absolutely in love with this one but I liked it, it for me at least gave me a break from what I had been reading and provided the light I needed after so much dark.

I am curious to see how this series is going to play out in future books. I am going to keep my eye on this series and this author because I think I may have found another series to enjoy and author to like. If you are looking for a lighter read then Fast Ride is one that you need to add to your TBR lists.

I received a copy of Fast Ride in a Giveaway from the author. I have read other books by Michelle and I have enjoyed them all. This book was an enjoyable read where the lead female character has a bad day at work and rear ends the lead male character. Jen and Garrett drive their cars off the road, pulling into a nearby seedy motel lot. They somehow started kissing and decided to get a hotel room. Both agreed to a fling and the chemistry is off the charts. Based on the way Jen is dressed, Garrett thinks she’s not very professional. He later learns differently. Jen has similar thoughts about him based on his car and how he’s dressed. They later learn about each other’s work. Jen decides to contact Garrett for help with her job situation and fifers to help him get back his ex in return. The two work together at their shared goals and continue to enjoy steamy encounters. As I learned more about each of the characters, I really liked them and was rooting for them to find happiness. I highly recommend this book. My review is my own opinion.

When I requested this title by a completely new-to-me author, I was expecting a hot, sexy story - which I did get. I was, however, blown away by the fullness of this book. Though short, it's filled with loads of emotion and awesomely entertaining characters.

Jen & Garrett are a couple whose story sucked me in and kept me riveted. I enjoyed the way the author brought them together and kept them in touch with each other. Their character growth and development was well done. I loved the way that their being together improved their lives.

I would love to read more of Michelle Dayton's work and look forward to Justin's story.

I voluntarily read & reviewed an ARC of this book.

"I received a complimentary copy of this book and have volunteered to leave a review."

This is the first book I have read by Michelle Dayton and I have to say that she took me in a fast ride alright. No race cars, no race stars in the mix. On the contrary, Fast Ride is a ride to be fast in love with someone you never expected to be in love with. How does this sound to you? Well, to me sounds intriguing.

The synopsis introduces the storyline's theme well enough so I won't spoil more the story. However, I suggest not to let your mind think that this is only what the story is about. Fast Ride places the Friends-with-benefits to a whole other lever my friends. The chemistry between Jen and Garrett is off the charts at the beginning yet it's increases tremendously in the process.

The author doesn't stop teasing us while narrating their story but when she delivers the oh so desirable sex scenes...well then, the heat is enough to melt your kindle and send your mind to oblivion. I find Michelle's Dayton writing incredible; Is energetic, clear and unfathomable sexy. The perfect combination of what I love to see in a romance with a HEA. I devour the book in one sitting, living every moment of this irresistible romance. Can't wait to see more about this author soon. Until next time, enjoy your free time reading great books with the most unforgettable stories.

Contemporary Romance.

Dual-POV.

Book #1 of a new series.

Addictiveness: Highly addictive. It was a steamy, fun read, easily done in one sitting.
Character: hero 5/5, heroine 4.5/5, secondary characters 5/5, growth 5/5, real 5/5 Both main characters were easy to love, connect and understand. Jen was an amazing heroine. She was smart, hardworking, caring and savvy. Her part on the deal was my favorite. She not only knew how to play the game, but she was really loyal. Garrett was hot and horny. He was also smart and sweet. I loved his brother and I am looking forward to his book. Yeah, I don't even know who was more boring and made less sense, Melissa or Simon. They both were ok antagonists.
Cover: art 4/5, title 5/5, subtitle 5/5, color-font 5/5, buy 5/5 I'm obsessed with book covers. I love to find snippets of the stories within the art. I love this art because is a very important scene of the book. It is a bit misleading :), because before reading it I was thinking about race driver, or something crazy like that.  I would buy this book without reading the blurb.
Freshness:  Nothing that I would say, O.M.G, so original, but it felt fresh. From the way they met, to their deal, it all felt unique, not something you read all the time.
Plot: believable 4/5, conflict 4/5, dialogue 5/5, ending 5/5, enjoyment 5/5, opening 5/5, pace 5/5, setting 5/5, subplots 5/5, twists 5/5  Great opening and good ending.  Interesting conflict and dialogues very well written. Fast-paced with enough heat to made it really enjoyable. It was fun and very sexy.
Romance: believable 5/5, chemistry 5/5, description 5/5, development 5/5, steam 5/5 Yes! This is a sexy ride. :) I'm not joking, these two together were explosive. They couldn't be near each other without setting everything on fire. *Fanning myself here* So many scenes that I could mention, with really great description and at the same time pertinent to the plot. Yes, "the heat is on!"
Writing Style: Fantastic characters, fun plot and sexy romance. What else could I want?

I don't know, maybe the conflict. Really Melissa didn't make much sense.

This was a fun, sexy read, with amazing character development. I can't wait for the second brother!

31/35 STARS –  4 STARS (between 28 stars and 31 stars)

Addictiveness: 4.5 Character: 5  Cover: 5  Freshness: 4  Plot: 4  Romance: 4.5 Writing Style: 4

Would I recommend? Yes, to everyone that likes sexy romantic comedies.
Would I re-read this book? YES!
Would I re-read this series? Sure.
Would I read more from the author? I will!!!

You MAY read this because you like the author; you SHOULD read this because you enjoy romcom; you MUST read this because you are looking for a sexy read!!!
