This story has a poor girl whose mother has just passed away at 54. Aunt Astrid is a distant cousin, so the Greenstone girls all go to the funeral. Something is wrong with the youngest daughter, other than she is dressed all in goth black. The two older daughters are a piece of work themselves, very rich and flaunting it. They are also very mean to the younger daughter. There is also dark shadows that are at the deceased house that start to follow the Greenstone girls and their familiars. Good and evil are in for a battle royal here. It is going to take everything and then some for the Greenstones to right this ship. Can they do it? You will need to read the book to find out. I voluntarily read an ARC of this book. The review is my own opinion.

Another great read in this always intriguing and suspense filled series. The Greenstones are back and this time they are investigating members of their own family and come up against a very powerful enemy. I recommend starting the series from the beginning as it is very helpful with getting to know these remarkable ladies but it can be read as a stand alone.

This series is getting better and better. This book was creepy and scary. The Greenstone's have battled some serious stuff made of nightmares and this book rates up there. Aunt Astrid meets a lady that is a distant relative, who suddenly dies. Upon meeting the family they notice something strange about them all, especially the sisters. Cath has a feeling about the teen that reminds her of herself. She didn't know how much their backgrounds were similar until the bad boogeyman comes for her.
This book was awesome. You will be a fan of these witches once you start the series.
Margaret is back with another murder case to solve. Of course Detective David doesn't want her to get especially after what happened last time. But Margaret not going to let that stop her. Her gang is there to lend support but she's kinda on her own.
This was a great, little quick read. I really enjoyed it.
I voluntarily agreed to review this book. My review is my own honest opinion.

This is a really good series, there are 8 books so far and I hope there are many more. When I first started this series, I was not sure if I was going to like it. Harper Lin drew me into this series from page 1 of book 1. These characters have become like friends and I can't wait to see what happens in the next book.

In this book, a long lost distant cousin of Aunt Astrids dies and the girls have a feeling that things are not what they seem. They pay a visit to the cousin's family to pay their respects and can tell that something is not quite right. After a curious incident at the funeral home the police begin to suspect that this is a murder and not natural causes as they originally thought. Cath, Bea, Aunt Astrid and their cats must try to figure out what is going on and fix it before it's too late. Pick up a copy and find out what happens.

Another great mystery with fur loving friends. The Wonder Cat series never disappoints. Book 8 may be the best mystery yet. Cath, Bea and Aunt Astrid are busy preparing the Brew-Ha-Ha Cafe for Valentines Day. After hearing of the death of a possible long lost family member, the only thing to do is pay your respects with a covered dish and a visit. That is when things start getting very interesting. After paying their respects at the funeral home things don't seem as they should be. With strange happenings and shadowy figures lurking around it is time to take things to the next level. Packed with mystery, suspense and twist and turns that will keep you guessing. Read this and all the other books in the series. Can be as a stand alone. I was given an advanced readers copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Although I enjoyed the book, I felt like it was a little too predictable. I don't want to give away the storyline, but the good vs evil was obvious very early on. There didn't seem to be as much animal communication between Cath and the cats and definitely no other animals were chatty. I expected a cacophony of conversation from the vet's office! For me a plus was it wasn't as scary as some of the books, yet it certainly had a lot of evil beings to deal with as well as near death repercussions from trying to help others! Gruesome parts-yes. Horrific shadow people-yes. A tiny bit of romance-yes. Awkwardness between Blake and Cath-yes. You read it and decide what you think and leave a review. You won't be sorry you read it.

This is another great entry in a series I've grown to love one book at a time. All the regulars you've come to know and love are here once again, but this story introduces a new character that I sincerely hope will make recurring appearances in future books. The suspense level is high and the pages just seem to fly by. I read quite a few series in either the cozy or paranormal genes and I have to say, this one stands well above the rest. Although it's best to read all the books, don't let that stop you if you haven't yet. Start with this book, or just jump in anywhere, and join in the fun.

Great series and great author. This book finds Cath, Bea and Aunt Astrid up against a force unlike any that they have seen before. After paying their respects at a wake, they find the family to be out of sorts. Then, the youngest daughter visits them and something is definitely off. Cath begins to see shadows around her. It's not until one attacks her that the 3 of them get together to try and find a way to vanquish these shadow goons. Once I started this book, I could not put it down. Great and scary read.

Another great book in the Wonder Cats series by Harper Lin. In this book, the Greenstones meet their scariest foe so far. The Elderflowers (distant relatives) are being plagued by shadow people. They are dark, malevolent creatures. They are so powerful, they even manage to scare Treacle, Cath's cat familiar. Things go down hill from there. A really well-written cozy mystery with a big scare factor.

This is the eighth book in the series and, while not one of the best, was still a very enjoyable book and not as sad as book 6.

An acquaintance of Aunt Astrid’s dies a mysterious death and it’s up to the Greenstones to figure out what’s going on.

The ending was very satisfying and the cats play a nice part in bringing the baddies down. I hope that Evelyn becomes a semi-regular character because it would be great to see how she grows up.

Well worth reading. I give it a solid 4/5 stars.

Fur-boding Shadows

I totally love this series! The characters are strong and always show their good characteristics/ethics. I love the cats who help keep them safe.
Needless to say, there are shadows in this story of the corruption by greed and jealousy. There are lights in the darkness so that good can win
And I also love that this is a full book instead of a chapter. Great read!

If I could give this book a 10+ rating I would!

What a fantastic story line! It was the best in
the series so far. I absolutely could NOT put it
down. I'm so glad the cats had a bigger part in
the story this time. This is definitely my favorite
book in the series to date. I highly recommend
this series to all lovers of cats and witches
mysteries. Can't wait for book 9!!

“Fur-boding Shadows” earns 5/5 Suspicious Relatives…Clever, Engaging!

A trio of witches? Mystical town? Murders to solve? The trifecta of fun for me penned by a favorite author Harper Lin! I love the weaving of paranormal themes and characters into my cozy, and once again Harper has created another clever book in her Wonder Cats Mystery, but the witchery, magic, and strangeness all works…no juvenile hocus-pocus. This eighth book focuses on the death of a distant cousin to Aunt Astrid, and the original determination of natural causes is put into question. There are niggling feelings about these distant relatives, and when the daughter, a seventeen-year-old Goth, falls under suspicion, the Greenstone women decided to take a closer look. Beware!

There is so much to unpack in this series, so if you're a newbie, you can start here because there are references to past issues, characters, and connections, but like causing the dominos to fall in the middle, it is still very entertaining, but you miss so much from the beginning. I started a couple books back, so I was well prepared. Harper’s first-person narrative from Cath Greenstone’s perspective provided an engaging look into her inner thoughts and views along with excellent descriptions of the setting and characters, but she doesn't rely just on the narrative with entertaining dialogue that sets tone, emotions, and personality to keep you totally engaged. I would like to add my “kudos” to Harper’s style of giving titles to each chapter. I like this…a lot. And are you “wondering” about the cats…there are some familiars that add delightfully to the whole story.

I am reading this series in order, this is book 8, and I still have not tired of it. The stories have been getting darker over the last 2 or 3 books. The Greenstone witches - Astrid, her married daughter Bea, and her niece Cath - attend Marie Elderflower's wake. She was a distant cousin who died relatively young. There they meet Marie's three daughters, two older rude women and the third, Evelyn, a teenage Goth whom Cath likes despite the typical behavior. When Maria's death becomes a police case and everyone blames Evelyn, Cath continues to believe in her and the three witches start looking into the case themselves. They are followed everywhere by mysterious shadows, which could well become deadly. I had much difficulty putting this down, and stayed up most of the night to finish it. The books stand alone to a great extent, but to keep track of Cath's love life it helps to read them in order. The romance is a small part of the series, which is both fun and scary.

Cath, Bea, Aunt Astrid, and the cats are once again investigating a series of strange happenings surrounding the death of a distant cousin. Between the suspicion death of Marie Elderflower and the shadow people that seem to be everywhere, the group will have their hands full protecting Wonder Falls. Will they be able to stop the evil before the shadow people get them?
It is nice to find a series that keeps you interested along with a small dose of the creeps. This series just keeps getting better and better. I cannot wait for the next book.
I received an ARC of this book for the purpose of an unbiased review.

A distant cousin of Aunt Astrid has suddenly died and if that wasn't enough tragedy, something is definitely amiss. The goth youngest child is suspected of foul play. Cath, however, remembering what it felt like to lose her mother, thinks the girl is in trouble rather than making trouble. And suddenly their are shadows moving everywhere. Can Cath save this lost child or will the shadows take her.
