AMAZON BESTSELLER IN CHRISTIAN LIVING LEADERSHIP
For anyone who has ever stood at a crossroads or been at a pivotal moment in their lives, remember—you can always start over. Have you ever achieved success at something and found it not as fulfilling as you hoped it would be? You're not alone.
What if our version or definition of success won't bring us the sense of fulfillment we think it will?
How do you define significance and how do we become significant? In Red Key Revolution, Jordan Kemper challenges you to reevaluate what it is you're after and why. During his pursuit of success, he found that significance is ultimately what our hearts desire. He unravels his story, including a decision he made as a teenage boy on behalf of a woman he would not meet for almost 20 years—his wife. That decision changed his perspective forever and ultimately led to the fruition of this revolution. We make decisions every day that will affect the people we meet tomorrow. Through a series of questions and action steps, Red Key Revolution will help you gain clarity on how to deliberately and intentionally pursue significance and success. Sacrifices are necessary for anything worthwhile, and when you sacrifice for what matters most, it's guaranteed to be worth it. Kemper's book redefines success in a way that leaves a legacy—the kind of success that will matter long after you're gone.

It's refreshing to read a self-motivational book that's not going on and on about material success but rather significance, personal intrinsic values and how all that helps you build a legacy and lasting relationships.
Thank you Netgalley for the eARC. I bet readers would love the key analogy and now I know a thing or two about parts of a key and the mechanics of it. Better yet, I love how the author used a simple mechanism to expound on such a deep topic.

Red Key Significance

Red Key Revolution: Redefining Success for a Life of Significance by Jordan Kemper

October 2, 2018
Nonfiction, self help

I received a digital copy of this book from GoodReads Giveaway/Amazon Kindle in exchange for an unbiased review.

This book is structured in a readable fashion whereby the author offers advice through exploring his own life lessons. He also relates how other people have learned valuable life lessons through their own varied experiences. Of note, there is a spiritual and religious slant to the authors perspective.

“All keys unlock something. Tangible things, like cars and houses. And intangible things, like solutions and hearts. Sometimes keys unlock life itself.”

The author explains the historical origin of the red key with description of the shape and use. This provides a concrete way to understand the concepts he will be addressing and the symbolism of the key. He shares a story of how a key eventually became to represent a more significant role than he could’ve imagined.

“So, while my first introduction to a red key revolved around the uncomfortable topic of sexuality, I now know that red keys are bigger than one decision in one aspect of our lives. They are the sums of our decisions throughout our lives.”

Author Marianne Williamson said, “Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness, which frightens us.”

The author expresses his desire for Red Key Revolution to be a catalyst for becoming exactly who God created you to be. He believes we have the ability to impact more lives than we could even imagine. It’s time now to write the rest of your story by choosing to intentionally pursue significance and success.

Browsing through the reviews on this book, they are definitely mixed. For me, I think I connected with it because of the point of my life I am in and it's what I need, and looking for, at this time.

The author tells his story, mixed with those of others. Some stories are of famous people, and some of every day people he has come across in his own life. I liked this mix. I'm not rich or famous and it's nice to see how the strategies and way of life in this book are lived by people closer to my status. It makes it easier for me to see how I can utilize them in my every day and, that's what I like about this book. The author does not focus on gaining fame and fortune or strategies that are far fetched to the average person or set a goal that's sky high. Instead, he focuses on the every day "keys'' to life and how we can all add them in to ours in order to makes us better humans, for both ourselves and others, and therefore making our own personal goals more attainable.

I won an advanced copy of this book on Goodreads. The book describes some general details on changing one's mindset to lead a more successful life, such as never giving up, and success can depend on other people but most importantly that success should not be based on how much money someone receives but through sacrifice and giving back to others is what ultimately makes people happier. The key is that giving is better than receiving and to help other people without reward is what should be significant. Kristen, Jordan's wife wrote the heartwarming epilogue to the author's book, detailing how the two met and married.

Anticlimactic

This book was boring. More than 50% of this book wasn't even the author's story, they were sports history or celebrity fun facts. The writing style simply wasn't engaging and I found myself skipping chapters altogether to get to the actual point of the chapter.

Ultimately I think this message would have been better delivered as a blog post or Pinterest infographic.

Refreshing and thought provoking.

Just reading this put me in a good mood. This past year has put me in the path to really focus on being happy and living a life I can be proud of. Reading this before the new year (and before my birthday) was exactly what I needed to set new goals and figure out where the next year will take me.

Ok

I won this book in a Goodreads giveaway. It was not quite what I was expecting. The blurb was a little misleading. It was well written and I can see where some people would get good use out of the book, just not for me.

Motivation book for sure. Liked interesting new stories that I have not read in other similar books. Some are impressive.
The core of the book and the story behind red key is lame and hence the 3 stars.
