Not all doms are made equal. And not all men who call themselves doms should be one. This story hit me in the gut from the beginning. Meri is not just down on her luck. She's been kicked whilst she's down. I reckon if she wasn't as loved by her brother, she would be a suicide potential. It's amazing to see someone who is supposed to "love you" just walk away because of a cancer. I realize she never married her boyfriend/dom and that maybe should have been an indicator something was off. This long term relationship lasted as long as Meri was useful and pretty. The second she no longer was arm candy for her asshat boyfriend, he tossed her aside. Unbelievable.
The only good thing about being at the bottom is there isn't any lower a person can go. For Meri, this is true as her little brother rides in to the rescue. Bringing her closer to him, the two of them are able to help Meri heal and get back on her feet. Part of this happens because she reconnects with a high school crush--Elvin, a teacher. No longer a student, Meri and Elvin are free to explore their old un-acted upon desires. I love a teacher/student romance when it's done right. Ms. Dalton serves up a deliciously kinky erotica with these two. Playing on their former relationship adds additional heat to this sexy story.
This story is a journey of healing and centering oneself again. It's a kind of kinky Hallmark movie that conjures up warm fuzzies with a dash of spice. This erotic novel is recommended to kinky romance readers who enjoy second chance themes.

There are 2 people scarred both outside and inside. Meri has survived a double mastectomy following her breast cancer diagnosis. She lost her job, her Dom and her self confidence. Elvin is a teacher who lost his wife, survived a horrific car accident and is now ready to start learning how to be a good Dom. One of the Frightful Five sets them up for a date and they soon learn that they know each other from a former life... Meri was Elvin's student in school, although they are only 9 years apart in age. Elvin is nervous because Meri has much more experience in kink. He will not, however, let her hide herself and her scars from him. After all- he has scars of his own from his accident. We go through the journey of how their relationship evolves in the vanilla world as well as the kinky world. We also see how they overcome their fears and we learn another lesson- beauty is in the eye of the beholder and it mostly shines from within. The book was written with emotion and heart. Well done Tymber! I cannot wait for the next book in the series!

After a horrible year with life altering changes, Meri's brother arrives to move her back to Florida with him. She doesn't want to live with her brother but right now she needs time to decompress. Elvin is getting his life back together after a bad divorce and a crippling accident. When the two meet, Meri realizes that Elvin is her teacher from high school but there is still an attraction. This was a wonderful story of two mature people coming to grips with things life has thrown at them and trying to keep going. Meri has physical issues due to cancer and Elvin's body still hurts after his accident but can they find a way to be together, especially when the past comes running in? Love this story and will be waiting for other characters to get their turn.

Another great book by author Tymber Dalton. Meri is recovering from a serious illness and surgery, along with trouble in her love life. She moves back home to Florida with her brother. Once back at home she meets Elvin who turns out that many years ago was her and her group of friends teacher. Will this pose a problem as the two make a connection. Elvin has a bad relationship and a bad car accident under his belt. How the two connect and move forward together makes for a great story. Bringing the two and their families blood and bonded by friendship tells a great tale. I can't wait for the next installment in this series.

It's a constant journey everyone has to make. And Elvin? OMG! This man is gorgeous, inside and out! He's been through a lifetime of pain. Yet he's not just survived; he's thrived. There's a saying that the best vengeance is living well. Elvin embodies all that and more. Meri and Elvin's individual journeys are captivating. Together they're riveting. If you're a long-time reader of the Suncoast Society series, old familiar friends return. Eliza, Rusty, Jackson, Noah, Grant, Darryl, Susie, Tony, and Axel are just a few. Then there's Ron. I adored him. He made me laugh out loud so many times. Seriously? Ask for a story about a teacher that looks like The Rock and you shall receive. Meri is a breast cancer survivor and has hit bottom. But in come the Frightful Five from Venture and BAM! Meri is reunited with Elvin. But when they knew each other he was her high school teacher. Many years ago. But she doesn't remember him looking like this!!!

Both Meri and Elvin have lots of pain both physical and emotional. But as they came together they can each find relief. I love how much support they get from friends. And I totally can understand Elvin's getting adopted by his ex's family. I had the same thing happen to me as well.

Another winner
My only complaint is the lack of pronouns in the dialogue (especially for an English teacher). Just doesn’t seem possible that so many characters talk the same even from different parts of the country.

Elvin and Meri are absolutely perfect together – they have both been through a lot (things that most of us can’t even begin to imagine) when they find each other and begin the long road to helping each other and finding the love that both thought they’d never find.

Suprised that Peter didnt make some sort of appearance along the way, would have been fun for Meri to rip out Keishas weave tho. Just little perks of revenge is all. Was got to hear from the Five this time around. Hope that Elvin learns the ropes along the way.

Another success for The Frightful Five. This couple both have issues stemming from the treatment of their exes that they must work through. My favorite part was.when Meri changed her FB picture and headed to her brother's sword that he uses in his Viking role playing. that was definitely a silent threat to use them if Elvin's ex kissed her off again.

I loved this story . POC stories written by non-POC are often cringe worthy but in this case. Ms. Dalton went out of her way to make sure the characters didn't come across as stereotypes. Other than the snatch her weave out scene i felt like I was just enjoying two people falling in love.
