It’s been five years since I left home. Five years of living alone, until my twin sister convinces me to move in with her. I know she’s worried like the rest of my family, but I’m in a much better place now. On move in day, she surprises me with a family cruise that leads me to run into a hot guy at the airport. I can’t seem to escape him when he appears on the cruise too. I told myself I’d never get involved with another guy after what happened in high school, but Drew is different. Something about him calms me, yet unnerves me, and when he gets notes telling him to stay away from me, I know I’m doomed. I can’t stay away from him.
Drew
Since my parents passed away, I've been throwing myself into my job. My best friend thinks it's time for me to take a vacation and he has the perfect thing in mind, a cruise to Alaska. I never expected to meet Alaska on my way there. She thinks we’re just meeting for the first time, but that’s far from the truth. And when I see her across the hall from my room, I know it’s my chance to tell her everything, until I get notes telling me to leave her alone. Now I know, that’s the last thing I need to do.

This is the first book of the State Family who own restaurants all over. Alaska, who’s the oldest, hasn’t been living at home for over 5 years. She’s lives alone and she can’t tell anyone why she left. Now her twin sister bought a condo close to their family estate. She’s convinced Alaska to move in with her. Alaska realizes she’s ready to go home. Her family surprises her with a family vacation on a cruise to Alaska. Alaska meets Drew, a very handsome guy, who is also very wealthy in his own right. Drew and Alaska so much chemistry. She feels like she knows him and can trust him. Will Drew disappoint Alaska when she finds out his secret? Is someone stalking Alaska? Why? Why are they threatening Drew to not see her again? Will Alaska and Drew get hurt? Will her family be in danger? There is so much twists and turns that I didn’t want to put the book down. Will she and Drew continue seeing each other after the cruise? It’s well worth the read, 5 stars. I loved this book and I can’t wait for the next in. Thank you Tiffany
This is book one in The State Family Series and it is Alaska and Drew's story and it is a must read. There are twists and turns along with lots of action, danger and suspense and I couldn't put this book down as it was so addictive and kept you on your toes while reading it. The characters and storyline pulled you in right from the start and you have to keep turning the pages to see what would happen next. I absolutely loved this book and the chemistry between Alaska and Drew was so hot that you can feel it sizzling of the pages of this book and I definitely wasn't disappointed with the outcome. I have read other books by Tiffany Ransier who is a brilliant author and writer and I definitely recommend you read her books as they are so well written and definitely worth reading.

There’s a lot to untangle here. Between the 20 or so siblings, all named for states, the disjointed flashbacks or info given in odd places, and the all-too-convenient lapses in security or safety or care, this was at times a difficult read. Alaska doesn’t want to believe hat she’s truly in danger, Drew doesn’t want to stay away from her but has secrets, and the rest of her family is either OTT or snotty to the point of nastiness at times. And once one mystery is solved, two more pop up in its place. Overall, this is a decent read and I’ll likely try Nebraska’s story simply because I want to know what’s going on with her. Maybe the next book will be excellent, since there were definitely a lot of people to introduce in this one to set the cadence for the series.
Wow what a great read,I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It seriously inrigued me. Alaska meets Drew on a cruise and he is like the perfect guy a total dream, but he is keeping secrets from Alaska, ones in which he feels he needs to tell her. But there is a threat warning Drew to stay away from Alaska, but these two cannot stay away from eachother. This is a very well thought out and well written story by Tiffany Ransier and it completely captured my interest and attention from the very start until the end. I will definately be reading more from this author as I relished this book ,it is a fantastic story with wonderful characters. I Highly recommend it. 5 Stars.
I really enjoyed this book in fact I have been waiting for it but it’s so worth it. This is about the State Family and one of the daughters Alaska who hasn’t spent much time with her family but her parents get a cruise for the whole family. On the cruise she meets Drew a guy who is just to good to be true but he carries a secret that could ruin the relationship before it even started and to top it off someone is trying to stop him from seeing her. This was not a typical guy meets girl story and I am really looking forward to read another book by this author
I loved this book it was a great story the character development was good I liked the kids all being named after States very cute. The mystery, romance, family, etc I loved it all. This book focused on Alaska and someone stalking her but she meets Drew and they become close he tries to keep her safe . They are a cute couple, it keeps you guessing until the end. I would recommend this. I can't wait for the next in this series
I received a copy of this book from the author and am voluntarily giving my honest opinion
Alaska is book 1 in the State family series. All the kids in Alaska's family are named after a state. After 5 years of living by herself in the mountains, Alaska moves back to town with her twin. When she gets to Nebraska's place, her family springs a surprise trip on her. They are off on a cruise to Alaska the next day. Alaska bumps into Drew at the airport and doesn't think anything of it since she won't see him again. Little does she know, Drew ia also on the same cruise. This book was so cute. Easy read then throw in suspense and mystery. Great read.
This is one story you don’t want to miss. It was a great way to spend a Saturday morning. It’s one of those reads that has great characters, storyline, and a lot of suspense. Just when you think one thing, there’s a twist and curve ball that makes you second guess everything. I couldn’t put it down. I am counting down the days to book 2 because I cannot wait to read more of this series. This author is one I am adding to my must read list.
She has finally moved in with her sister even though she tells everyone she is doing well. Her sister then surprises her with a cruise where she bumps into him. He already knows her although she does not remember him. He starts to get notes telling him to stay away. Well no way he thinks. How does she know him? Will he back off? Will he make her happy? See how she gets on

Alaska is the 1st Book in a New Series about The Very Large State Family where All of the Children are named after States and their last name is State. A romantic suspense that's full of mystery & love where Alaska State and her Huge Family take a cruise to Alaska of all places. I really liked the characters and I am looking forward to reading the 2nd book in the series about Nebraska, who is Alaska's twin sister.
*I love cruising! It’s my favorite type of vacation. (At least prior to 2020.) So to find a story with cruising a part of the major storyline was great! While I did enjoy this one, it was a little too busy for me. Too many characters maybe??? Alaska was very likable and I felt HE was a perfect match for her once we learned more about him.
What a fantastic read! Suspenseful and full of love, twists and turns. Keeps you on your toes and surprised you with the answers! Can cause some triggers as stalking is a very common, frightening and dangerous reality Well written, very talented author! Looking forward to Nebraska's story next in the awesome, rich and loving State family!
The first book in the State Family series a story that kept me turning pages. Alaska and Drew's story has suspense, drama, danger, twists, turns, a villain, family, and love. This was the first book in a new series and it started out quite well. Mystery, intrigue, romance, adventure, twists and turns that you won't see coming even though you think you have it all figured out. I'm excited to see the next story in this series!
I wasn’t sure what to think about the book at first. As it went on I wanted to know more and get answers. I couldn’t figure out who was the bad guy. I couldn’t figure out Drew’s secret, it all already sense in the end and is a good suspense book with some romance!
On the cruise she meets Drew a guy who is just to good to be true but he carries a secret that could ruin the relationship before it even started and to top it off someone is trying to stop him from seeing her.

An Enjoyable Book =) The book brings a lot emotions with some suspenseful moments. The cast of characters are great and I loved getting to know the family. On board to read more of the States family.
I really enjoyed this first book in a series. This book had me guessing, swooning and really enjoying the story and the characters. I cannot wait for more.
This is my first book by that I’ve read by this author and it will not be my last. I throughly enjoyed the characters and story. I can’t wait to read my next book by this author.
I always enjoy a good Alaska set romance. I don't know why but I do this book hits a lot of all those marks for my me. An unexpected meeting, family, as well as some mystery. A first read for me by Tiffany Ransier. A bit much in detail but this author is on the path to good story telling. I will be reading more in the future.
Romance, mystery, suspense, a mild bit of betrayal, this story is full of twists and turns. Nicely developed characters, a nice flow to the story line and best of all, it's the first book in a series! Looking forward to reading about more State sisters.
This is a new to me author. I had no idea what I was getting into with this book. I really didn't even read the blurb. This story was definitely full or twists and turns. Alaska State and her family head out for a cruise to her namesake, celebrating her return to town. Little does she know how much this cruise will not only change her life but her family as well. Drew didn't even want to go away on a trip but was pleasantly surprised to see his long time chat friend aboard the cruise. This crazy, scary, intense, sweet and charming tale was everything I love in a book. Though at times it did drag on and get a bit wordy. It still captured my interest. Some questions are still left unanswered. Maybe the next book will clarify them. 4stars
Alaska comes from a "Big" family. She is on a family vacation cruise. Things get interesting when she has a run in with a guy from the past, that she doe not remember. Eventually her life is in danger as a stalker is making threats. Ironically security on this ship is weak and the young adults try to take things in their own hands. Cute little mystery book with a love twist!
