The son of a lawyer, Brion was classmates in Thiers with Marcel Pagnol and Albert Cohen. After completing his secondary education in Champittet, Switzerland, he studied law at the Faculty of Aix-en-Provence. Counsel to the bar of Marseille between 1920 and 1924, he abandoned his legal career to turn to literature.
Brion wrote nearly a hundred books in his career, ranging from historical biography to examinations of Italian and German art, and turning later in life to novels. His most famous collection of stories is the 1942 Les Escales de la Haute Nuit (The Shore Leaves Of The Deepest Night). An essay of Brion appears in Our Exagmination Round His Factification for Incamination of Work in Progress, the important 1929 critical appreciation of James Joyce's Finnegans Wake.
He was a friend of the philosopher Xavier Tilliette.
In 1964, Brion was elected to the French Academy chair 33, replacing his friend Jean-Louis Vaudoyer. Other distinctions include membership in the Légion d'honneur, the Croix de guerre 1914-1918, a Grand Officer in the French Ordre national du Mérite, and an Officer of the Ordre des Arts et des Lettres.
His son, Patrick Brion, critic and film historian, is the "voice" of Cinema midnight on France 3.

عالی. کامل. با جزییات کافی. توصیفات قشنگ. فقط عکساش کافی نیست. کلا از این کامل تر فکر نمیکنم بتونید برای خوندن زندگی نامه میکل انژ پیدا کنید. بسی پیشنهاد میشه.

Para mi, ha sido un libro pesado y dificil de leer. Me imagino que para los fans del arte debe de ser un muy buen libro.
Muy interesante la vida de Miguel Angel, del libro pude disfrutar mucho de la etapa que pinta la bóveda de la capilla Sixtina, pero en general no pude engancharme y disfrutar mucho del libro.
Recomiendo el libro si te gusta mucho el arte o tienes pensado viajar a Italia y ver sus obras.

5 estrellas por la vida de Miguel Ángel, porque si llega a ser por la narración del Marcel Brion se iba a quedar con dos y yo me iba a quedar tan a gusto.
Puede que a mentes más intelectuales que las mías satisfazga una lectura rimbombante y llena de cartas y poemas de Miguel Ángel, pero a la mía no, y cierto es que sí, Marcel, lo siento, no sé italiano, algunas palabras las entiendo otras no y si me haces referencias que tampoco entiendo como los ignudi o comparaciones con estos mismos, tampoco me entero muy bien. En todo caso siento que me han faltado cotilleos y me han sobrado las dispersiones del autor sobre otros personajes-contextos históricos, a veces me encontraba pensando, vale, y cuando sale Miguel Ángel, si solo le faltaba decir cada vez que nombraba a Leonardo DaVinci, mira, he escrito un libro de este señor, comprádmelo ¬¬.
Si pudiese pedir algo más pediría más dibujos y más análisis de sus esculturas, pinturas, arquitecturas en detalle sobre el dibujo y el análisis de lo que quería representar Miguel Ángel, no el análisis de Marcel Brion que se pasa un capítulo entero en contarte cosas que el resto del mundo "menos intelectual y lírico" podría resumir en dos líneas.

Me gusto, no fue la típica biografía que solo mostraba un montón de años y sucesos insignificantes.
