A steamy standalone Romantic comedy from Top 100 Author Mickey Miller
What happens when a good girl and a bad boy fake an engagement?
My best friend's sister and I have a history that we'd rather keep secret.
So when we make up a lie to get a loan, I should have seen the writing on the wall. Now, she's my fake fiancée, which means we'll be spending more time together.
And Clarissa wants more than just free drinks. Good thing I'm the guy who can give her what she wants. As long as her brother doesn't find out what we're up to. It was just a teeny tiny lie we told the loan officer. "Together? Yes, we're together." Now, Clarissa and I have to play like we're engaged. Pretending to be my fiancée is a huge favor. Given my notoriety, the bank won't loan to me unless I have a partner.
Clarissa's putting her good girl reputation on the line for me, and I can't let her down.
She claims it's because of a sacrifice I made for her, years ago, but I don't like delving into the past.
Clarissa's got her own requirements for holding up her end of the bargain.
She's heard about my 'special ability,' and not the fact that I make the best Martini in town. So we make an agreement: No feelings involved. Which, with her, turns into really hot benefits. Did I mention this was during our very public, very fake engagement? This is about to wrong in all the ways it can go wrong. Luckily, I know a guy who makes a hell of a stiff cocktail. I have a feeling I'm going to need one before this roller coaster ride is over.
Bartender with Benefits is a steamy standalone, and book 4 in the Blackwell After Dark Series! It is duel POV first person, with an HEA!
Hi, there! My name is Mickey Miller and I write sexy, fun romance with smart characters. My books are great if you're looking for a light-hearted, steamy read with some humor and a happy ending! Happy reading!
Loved this novel. Loved Mason and his heart of gold. It is by far the best in the series. Ending was cliche but I liked it. Great work Mickey Miller. Must read
"She's the woman I've wanted since I was too young to know what it even meant to need to have a woman to be my partner and leave my legacy to the world."
Holy Hotness!! I'm not a big drinker, but Mason makes me want to go bar hopping looking for him!! What a sweet and steamy story!! I love a good "second-chance, even though there really wasn't a first-chance, but almost" romance!
Clarissa Hanks is back from Harvard and trying to figure out her next steps. She and Mason Worthington have always been friends. Well, almost more than friends at one time, but friends none the less. And she's in love with him. Always has been. Now, he needs her help to make his dream of owning his own bar a reality. Can she fake a relationship with him and protect her heart at the same time? Can she enjoy the "benefits" with no promise of a future with the man she loves? When his dreams are fulfilled, will she be able to walk away intact, or will she be shattered in to a billion pieces? Again.
Mason Worthington has it bad. He is in love with Clarissa Hanks. But, he can't have her. He never could. Not only is she the little sister of his best friend Cole, but he's not nearly good enough for her. Now, because of a misunderstanding, he needs her to be his fake girlfriend to get the loan he needs to start his own bar. Fake would be hard enough, but she's demanded additional "benefits" as part of the deal. When their act comes to a close, will he be able to let her go? Will he be able to convince her that this isn't fake for him. He wants her forever, but will she stay?
I love this series so much! I loved Cole. Then I loved Liam. Then I loved Sebastian. Now I love Mason. Each book and each couple were amazing in their own rights. I highly recommend you check out Blackwell After Dark series!
I am loving the Blackwell series by Mickey Miller and Bartender with Benefits did not disappoint. In this very hot and steamy installment of this standalone series, we finally get Mason and Clarissa’s story who we have met in previous books. I was so excited to get my hands on this book because we know there is history here!
Mason is the bad boy bartender with the heart of goal. When he finds himself in need of a loan, he also finds himself in a fake relationship with Clarissa, his best friend’s little sister. She should be off-limits, but the more time they spend together, the more they cross lines that shouldn’t be crossed.
Clarissa is your good girl with a side of nerd who does not see how beautiful she really is. But Mason sure does notice it. Mason and Clarissa have history and a very strong attraction they both try and deny. But the more time they spend together, the harder it is to continue faking it. But their chemistry screams off the pages and cannot be denied.
The Blackwell After Dark series has been a fun, sexy and very steamy series of standalones with over the top alpha men and the women that bring their knees and Bartender with Benefits was all that and more. I loved the character and their story so much. It was emotional and full of passion!
Great book, I really enjoyed Clarissa and Mason's story. This book is a friends to lovers story that started when they where in school together. Clarissa was the nerdy type and Mason was the bad boy type. Mason had promised Clarissa's brother that he wouldn't try and date his sister but as time went on Mason was more and more attracted to her making things hard between them. Little does he know but Clarissa feels the same way. This is a great book and I recommend it to everyone.
Loved Mason and Clarissa's story. Mickey always comes with the sexy and funny reads. This was no exception. I might be at the bar more if I have Mason serving drinks! He can mix more then just a mean cocktail ;) Clarissa is the good girl, the untouchable girl, the I have to have you kind of girl. Mason is a bad boy, no good for the likes of Clarissa, but that doesn't stop him... Grab a drink and sit down and get lost with Bartender with Benefits.
This series never fails to bring fun, likeable characters with off the charts hotness, and scenes between the couple that are always fresh and original, not to mention sexy as all get out!!! A blast to read, flirtatious, angsty in spots, the banter kept me glued, all in all a great read! I thank the Author for providing a copy to review!
This is my second time reading Bartender with Benefits. The first time, I stopped short of finishing. This time I finished it in a day. Maybe it was my mood, maybe it was the timing. I’m not sure. I just know I liked it more this time around. So give yourself a second chance if you ever find yourself putting down a Mickey Miller book. 😊
Friends with lots of real benefits, and no end in sight.
Book four in the Blackwell series is all about Mason and Clarissa. The smokin hot bartender and his best friends little sister aren’t supposed to be a long term thing. This series just gets better and better. Can’t wait for the next one! Super read! Enjoy!!!
Clarissa Hanks went off to Harvard. She came home to Blackwell to figure things out. She's been in love with Mason Worthington for a long time. Mason Worthington has been in love with Clarissa but her brother is his best friend. He is a bartender who wants to open up his own bar. He needs Clarissa's help to get the loan. The only way for Mason to get the loan is if Clarissa is his girlfriend. She'll be his girlfriend on one condition. She wants the benefits that go along with being his girlfriend. Mickey Miller's books are jaw dropping, drool worthy books.
DNF... it’s me, I’m not into friends to lovers. There not enough realistic conflict and it’s always a misunderstanding or some outside force keeping them “apart” — like a big brother/bff sitch. It’s just not my jam.
Mickey Miller has added this scorching hot read to his popular Blackwell After Dark series chronicling the circuitous story of Mason Worthington, the bartender with, ah, benefits, and Clarissa Hanks, the all grown up sister of Cole Hanks, Professor With Benefits, and Mason's best friend. The author combines the best friend's little sister trope with a surprising backstory and unrecognized love and the result is the very engaging Bartender with Benefits. Clarissa Hanks has recognized her academic dreams of a Harvard education, but is back in small town Blackwell after her mother's health scare. She is such a good girl and finds herself in a popular bar, listening to some guy pontificate about past exploits when she is "saved" by the talented and hot bartender, Mason, still her brother's best friend and hotter than ever. One thing leads to another and before either realize it, they are fake dating in order to secure a business loan. But the road to perdition is lined with the best of intentions.... Lines are crossed, intentions are blurred, and suddenly, it might just not be so "fake" anymore. Was it ever? How do Mason and Clarissa deal with their changing feelings? Hmm, do their feelings really change? How does Mason justify the huge breach to the "Bro Code" to himself and to Cole? All of these burning questions are answered with well-developed characters, witty dialogue, a great backstory, and of course, Mickey's trademark HAWT sex scenes. This book represents a slight departure in Mickey's writing style as the book is 75% male POV, showing growth and daring. But, I loved this book and believe it is the best to date in Mickey's library. One-click and become a Mickey Miller fan too!!
I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
Wow, this book is one that you NEED to READ—you won’t regret it! From the very first page, I was spellbound by these fantastically described characters that you will find yourself falling in love with. The story held my attention and was entertaining, but also was heartwarming and emotional. Set in a small town called Blackwell, and now we get Mason Worthington’s story. Mason is a very handsome, tattooed and he is the head bartender of The Watering Hole bar in Blackwell. As you might remember, Sebastian Blackwell owns just about everything in the town of Blackwell. Mason’s best friend is Cole Hanks, the professor. I love how Mickey Miller brings the other characters from the previous Blackwell books into the picture. Clarissa Hanks is back from Harvard with a Master’s degree, and she is Cole’s younger sister. Mason has always had a crush on Clarissa since high school, unbeknown to Cole, but he cannot break the “bro code—which includes not dating each other’s siblings.” Clarissa has also had a crush on Mason since high school as well, but who would think that the high school crushes would turn into something else. Now, Mason wants to open his own bar, so he solicits Clarissa’s help and propose a fake relationship—in order to help, Clarissa wants benefits. Will Clarissa be able to maintain a fake relationship and protect her heart? What will Cole say about the fake relationship—and will this end Cole and Mason’s relationship because of the bro code? The scenes are well written, fast-paced and flow smoothly from one scene to the next. The book will pique your interest and draw you in from the beginning to the very end.
Bartender with Benefits, where can I find me a Mason at???!!! Clarissa don't get caught slipping, because I love me some Mason! This book was literally everything. At first I was like, okay this is just another typical best friends sister read. Nahhhh! Not at all. This book was deep and it just captured my heart and I should've known that coming from Mickey Miller, nothing would be typical. This book had me connecting to it from Page 1. Had me hawt and bothered. I always love to hear about my baby daddy, Jake Napleton and love when Mick mentions him in all of the books. If you don't mind yelling at the book and then not being able to stop reading it until it's over, then this is totally the book for you. Not to mention the hot af scenes, OMG! Had me melting, literally.
You have this book coming from the wonderful town of Blackwell, where things happen at night. I would love to live in Blackwell myself. Especially with all of the well-endowed men in town, hehehe! In this town, Mr. Blackwell himself might even be able to get it because he has swagger that jumps through the book as well! #DONTJUDGEME
If you don't mind yelling at the book and then not being able to stop reading it until it's over, then this is totally the book for you. Not to mention the hot AF scenes, OMG! Had me melting, literally. I can say the one good thing that I have grown to love about said, Author is that he knows how to capture your heart and make you addicted to the characters, and makes the book melt. It's not just a whole bunch of sex and no content. Pretty much! This is a must read
I know many fans of the Blackwell After Dark series have been eagerly awaiting Mason and Clarissa's story, ever since Clarissa's brother Cole first appeared with the inaugural Blackwell book, Professor with Benefits. I have to say, Mr. Miller does not disappoint. Mason and Clarissa have wanted each other for so long but have to hide their attraction because Mason has two golden rules: 1. Don't get involved with coworkers, 2. Don't get involved with friend's sisters. Clarissa becomes both after she returns to Blackwell after university to see her mother and gets a job hostessing at The Watering Hole. Then Clarissa encourages Mason to try to open his own bar and things snowball from there, with both of them committing to a fake relationship to secure the bank loan because the bank was reluctant to lend the money to just Mason alone, or even to both Mason and Clarissa, were they not seriously involved with each other. Can they survive the bar opening as well as overcome the incident from their past that both binds them together and tears them apart?
I found myself laughing out loud a lot during this book, more than with any other previous book in the series, so it's definitely got humor down but despite the humorous erotica tag, it's really more of a rom-com with a best friend's little sister, second chance romance all rolled into one. I really enjoyed this book, as I always do with books by this author and I look forward the next book in this series as well as any other books Mr. Miller has up his sleeves for us.
I’ve been anticipating this latest instalment to the Blackwell After Dark series by Mickey. I was so ready to meet Mason in all his hot bartender glory! And although Mechanic With Benefits is still my favourite of the series, I did enjoy reading Mason’s story.
I did however get a little confused as to where this story fit in the timeline of the series. Looking back on the others Mason was always single and it was never suggested otherwise, but this book seemed to be happening at the same time as the others, so I got a bit confused a couple of times. I thought it was a little repetitive in regards to them saying how they felt about each other throughout the story. But I did enjoy this read and I loved the characters!
Mason is such a hunk! A tattooed, bearded bartender who talks dirty, what’s not to love about that? He’s a joker, but he is such a sweetheart. He is one of my favourite characters from this series. Clarissa is a nerdy type girl. I would have loved to read more from her point of view so I could of gotten a better feel for her character.
The story is hot, it’s sweet and it will keep you captivated. This story is mainly written in Mason’s POV. I thought it was quite funny in some parts, and I actually got a little sad for Mason at the end. I really enjoy reading Mickey’s books and I can’t wait until his next release!
BARTENDER WITH BENEFITS - SIZZLES WITH FIERY PASSION & DEVOTION. An enticing read that I could not put down until the heart-melting conclusion. Inside; humor, true friendship, action, heart-rendering moments, flashbacks give the reader insight into both characters. suspense, and intense sensuous romance.
Mason is eye-popping hot, irresistible to the ladies and makes his drinks with flair. Clarissa is a sultry intelligent beauty and a graduate from Harvard. The two were friends in high school and then drifted apart. Clarissa's brother is Mason's best friend and has made it clear to him that his sister is off limits. Both have a bit of a haunted past; giving into the temptation of a forbidden love makes this story one wild ride.
FABULOUS read with terrific characters and dynamic vivid scene descriptions. Mason and Clarissa's chemistry shine in this story; loved them together. I laughed, got a bit emotional and cheered at the end. Finding this to be a most entertaining read; of my own volition without stipulations, I reviewed an advanced copy. Without reservations, I recommend this read.
I loved Bartender with Benefits! The Blackwell Books have all had me hooked from the first page to the last. I was glad to finally see Mason have his own story. We have seen him in the prior books and he has always been a great supporting character.
Mason is the bad boy bartender that everyone wants. Despite is gruff exterior, he has a heart of gold. Especially where is best friend's sister, Clarissa, is concerned. Clarissa is a sexy "nerd" that has had a crush on Mason her entire life. She doesn't even know how appealing she is to the opposite sex. Mason sure knows, but she is off limits as she is his best friend's sister.
Clarissa coming come has put Mason and Clarissa back in each other's cross hairs. The attraction is still there, but it is still taboo. A deceptive plan is created to help Mason get funding to start his own bar. The question is, who is getting the better benefits of this arrangements?
Mason and Clarissa are HOT together. Bartender with Benefits is a great read from start to finish. It is fun, sexy, and will get your motor running!

This is book 4 of the Blackwell book series, you don't need to read the first three but I do highly recommend that you do. This book features Mason, resident bartender of Blackwell, and Clarissa who happens to be the younger sister of Cole Hanks from Professor with Benefits. This small town of Blackwell, where everyone knows everyone, has some secrets and at the same time everyone knows your business. Suddenly this pair is faking a relationship in order for Mason to follow his dreams. A fake engagement, a secret past history and a bros code has you wanting to know more.
Overall thoughts: Mickey Miller has outdone himself with this book in the series, although my favorite is still book 2. He's taken the best friends sister trope and made it his own with how he wrote the tale between these characters. This romcom is guaranteed to give you entertainment from start to finish. I'll take his blue collar men over billionaires any day!
I LOVED Bartender with Benefits by Mickey Miller! This was the first story that I read out of this Blackwell series and I couldn't be happier. If you are looking for a book that will give you all the feels... don't hesitate on this gem! The story was addicting and I couldn't put it down. For the few times that I had to (because adulating stinks!), I kept thinking of the characters. This book is one that will stay with you and will leave you swooning hardcore! I was All-In with this one and the author brought one heck of a story. Clarissa and Mason were a great set of character's that I fell hard for. Their story was familiar, yet unique. The chemistry oozed from the pages. Are these really fictional characters? They seemed real to me. As I write this review, I am saddened that it is over but the fun just began. I am ready to dive into the other Blackwell stories. Reading these out of order did not disrupt the flow or give much away from the other stories that you wouldn't find from reading the blurb's.
I definitely recommend this book AND other's by this author!
Mickey Miller has done it again! Book 4 in the Blackwell series is totally hot, funny, sexy, everything you could ask for. Mason and Clarissa have history. Staring with their friendship. Since middle school, Mason had always stood by her side. Always her hero. They've always had this attractions for each other but never voiced it. Playing fake boyfriend/girlfriend so they can watch a baseball game, giving a fake kiss for the kiss cam. All that is in the past. Now years later, Master's degree from Harvard Clarissa is back in Blackwell for her family. Finding Mason bartending at The Watering Hole. Mason likes his rules in place. Don't mess with co-workers, clients and the one rule he's had since middle school. Don't date my best friends little sister. Clarissa being Cole Hanks little sister, his best friend. This is the most enjoyable read I've had this year. I keep looking forward to what Mickey Miller brings us. Every book is different. I've read and reviewed this book voluntary.
Wow, this book is hot and a MUST READ! You won't regret it. From the very first Chapter to the end you will be captivated and spellbound by the characters that you will find falling in love with. The story is entertaining, also heartwarming and emotional. Mason Worthington’s is handsome, tattooed and the head bartender of The Watering Hole bar in Blackwell. And so sexy and hot. Clarissa Hanks is back from Harvard with a Master’s degree, she is not only Mason's best friends younger sister but also high school crush. Clarissa has also had a crush on Mason since high school as well, but who would think that the high school crushes would turn into something else. The scenes, so descriptive are well written, fast-paced and flow smoothly from one scene to the next. The book simultaneously piques ones interest as well as draws you in from beginning to the very end. "Fake" falling in love has never felt more believable than it did Mickey Miller style. Recommended highly.
Mason is my favorite bartender in Blackwell. You will find out that under all the tough persona, he wears his heart on his sleeve for Clarissa. You read on with other characters that are familiar to you if you have been following this series. I can never get enough of the back forth play with the “pretend engagement” trope. Even though there are plenty of books with the same theme, Mickey Miller adds his own magic to the book. You will feel like this is a whole different kind of story with a whole lot of hotness!!
The characters strengths were their own weakness. When living in their pretend world, they were actually living the reality of it. But once Clarissa and Mason find out the the truth of what their hearts want, they tuck tail and leave. Maybe not at the same time, but they both escape each other. Can these two with a long history become more than friends? Check out this book and meet the amazing folks in Blackwell!
Complimenti!
Mason is my favorite character out of the Blackwell series, so I was so excited to read this book!
I don't usually like best-friends of sibling novels because the characters are always concerned about the sibling finding out and making everything a secret. That happened a few times in this book, but because it was all "fake" it changed that dynamic a little bit.
I love the history of Clarissa and Mason. They have been entwined and entangled with each other for YEARS and it was past time for them to finally express their true feelings. I also love how protective he was, and is, of her.
This book is majority through Mason's point of view, which I am thrilled about. Seeing him fall harder and harder for Clarissa was phenomenal.
I am so glad I got to read this series, but I'm especially glad I got to read Mason and Clarissa's sorry. Can't wait to read more by this author!
What happens when you need to get a loan and the bank looks down on you because they think you are not worth the risk? Mason ends up putting together a business plan with your best friends sister Clarissa who happens to be a brainiac. But when the old lady at the bank gives you the loan because she thinks your business partnership is more of a romantic one, you end up in a fake relationship. But when Clarissa wants the fake romance to have benefits sparks fly and feelings from their youth come into play, can Mason continue with no strings? Or do they both invest their hearts into the partnership? With beautifully written characters and a storyline that keeps the reader’s attention from the opening pages, once again, Mickey Miller does not disappoint.
Cute story of bartender Mason, and his best friend Cole's nerdy sister, Clarissa. Mason and Clarissa have known each other for years. Mason had a huge impact on Clarissa 10 years ago, and she is hoping to return the favour, even if it involves a bit of deception. Or maybe a lot of deception. I loved how this story was told mostly from Mason's POV, with a few chapters narrated by Clarissa, and also gives a bit of 10 year old history between the two. This story had it all; drama, angst, fun, the feels. Mason was a totally stand up guy, from when he was first introduced, while Clarissa is indeed the triple threat-smart, sexy, sweet. Mickey Miller has another Blackwell winner in this book.
I received an arc of this book and have voluntarily reviewed it.
Actually I give this book 4 1/2 stars, because the only thing I didn't do was "ugly cry" but this book is absolutely captivating! It is wicked sexy and I felt like I was transported to a small town that I REALLY wish I lived in!! I would become a regular at any bar Mason and Clarissa owned! I usually only read at night before bed, but I found myself making time throughout the day to keep reading. Clarissa and Mason are an awesome couple, even when they are "faking it." From the beginning to the end this book will keep you entertained and totally revved up! I definitely recommend this book and all of the other Blackwell books, Professor With Benefits, Boss With Benefits, and Mechanic With Benefits, they are all fantastic!! I can't wait to read what's next!! Enjoy!!
I’m hooked on the the town of Blackwell and all those residing there. This is a great standalone in a series where you’re able to read each story in no particular order yet the characters all are intertwined within each other. Mason and Clarissa’s story is one that I adored, we’re given a sweet romance mixed with steaminess and of course a HEA. I loved reading the tale that Mason and Clarissa built and seeing it grow to more then they planned was entertaining. The storyline flowed smoothly and the pace was good. Definitely recommending this story as well as the entire Blackwell After Dark Series. This is my unbiased and voluntary review.
