About the author

Roy was born in South Africa and now lives in Australia's Blue Mountains. He's had a lifelong passion for ancient Egypt and for writing suspense fiction. His very first story was published in the Ellery Queen Mystery Magazine, New York.

Whilst balancing his career as an award-winning Creative Director of international and local advertising agencies, Roy wrote a series of thirteen novels for young adult readers, published in Australia, UK, and USA, winning a Book of the Year Award.

With this series I always feel the same. The concept is great - all the Egyptian mythology is wonderful - but the writing is horrible. Also it's so overly Christian that I can't take it.
