A deluxe hardcover collection of over 1,500 rare and unpublished photos, memorabilia and memories from the early days of the most successful theatrical rock band of all time...KISS.
This book was amazing & a whole lot Moreeeeeeeee. As its not available as a ebook i read the hardcover & it is huge & pretty heavy which can make it awkward 2 read & the print is also a battle beimg so small but is well worth putting up with. The photos r totally amazing & jst beautifully shot Lydia is a book truly talented photographer the color the essence is brilliant. I read Ace Frehely's & Peter Criss's books b 4 Lydia's & they were both a truly good read altho i had a good feeling b 4 reading Peter's book i read would b turned off due 2 his whingey winey poor poor me attitude & so i was he jst came off as a very bitter man & the same with Lydia's book the way he has treated her @ times ova the yrs they were 2 gether was disgusting. Lydia Criss ur book is fabulous & u r very gifted & talented photographer & writer!!!
The first wife of KISS drummer Peter Criss did a great job of photographing Peter and the band in the very beginning and over their first ten years. Lots of great stories too. Dare I say this book may be better than the hugely expensive KISStory book, especially for older fans like me that were there on the "ground floor" and watched it all unfold. A "KISS-Size" book, this one is huge! And the price tag won't break the bank. Aw yeah!
As a long time KISS fan (my first concert ever was KISS in 1979), this book was a fascinating read. Lydia does an excellent job of telling us all the scoop of the behind the scenes going ons of a band trying to make it. The ups, the downs, the controversy, the fun, the excitement, it is all here. And on top of that, there are hundreds of photos, page after page of previously unseen photos from the early days of KISS, many personal, out of make up shots. An amazing story, and amazing array of photos, and a must have for KISS fans.
If you are a true KISS fan, add this to your collection. Lydia gives an intimate portrait from the early days to her personal work life post KISS. She doesn't come across as the bitter ex wife. On the contrary, she paints a human portrait of the hottest band in the world. Get it! I got it in 2009 and it was personalized.
