Phoenix Pack #1

Alpha Blaze

Rate this book
(M/M Mpreg Romance)

Both will betray the pack. Can they save each other?

In the Louisiana bayou, the bond between alpha and omega burns hot and dangerous.

Kevin was a beautiful contradiction of vulnerability and fury wrapped in pure sex appeal.

It was all I could do to hold my wolf in check. If I pushed too hard, I'd lose. I couldn't afford to lose Kevin. Already, this omega had become precious. I hadn’t come here to find a mate. That didn’t matter. The omega was mine and I was his, whether we liked it or not.

His name was Blaze, and Kevin was playing with fire.

Our eyes met. It was just dinner. Blaze kept to the boundaries of our agreement, but I wanted more. I’d never felt this way about an alpha. Blaze was everything I wanted and everything I couldn’t have.

Alpha Blaze is an action-packed mpreg romance novel of 64,000 words with hot werewolf bikers, bad language, smutty-times, knotting, and men who get pregnant. Warning: this book contains a tough-as-nails omega struggling to overcome a painful past (incl. rape trauma and miscarriage) and a strong, sensitive alpha who will do anything to win his omega’s heart.

If you love your mpreg romance with a dollop of angst and a healthy helping of action, start reading Alpha Blaze today!

5 stars!

This author is new to me, but I really liked her writing style. I enjoyed the book. She certainly did not pull any punches with this one!

This book was a little bit morbid for me due to the situation with the pack and how things were done. It was hard to read sometimes because I really felt for Kevin. He is smart and brave, stubborn and a survivor. It was good to read about an omega with a backbone. Blaze appears to be tough but inside he is just a big and fluffy marshmallow for his mate. I liked how patient he was, how understanding.

Kevin and Blaze were HOT TOGETHER like LIGHT YOUR SHEETS ON FIRE HOT! I loved those moments between them. And the cute fest sometimes didn't hurt either. The situation with the pack is not a new one but this one was well written and the presence of the gators was a nice touch. I loved the ending because it was sweet and full of hope.

I will definitely read her books again!

To start off I just want to say that I have read all 3 of the previous books published by this author and each book she has written has gotten better and better. Mind you, I really like all the books, but this book is the best yet! The two MCs are beautifully written, I loved Blaze from page one... and though it took me a bit longer to connect with Kevin, when I did it was intense (i.e. lots of tears). The story itself is filled with suspense as Blaze works undercover and at the same time attempts to woo Kevin. There were several points where I hesitate to swipe to the next page because I was afraid what might happen next. I loved the space of the relationship between Blaze and Kevin, since it fit perfectly for the things Kevin needed to overcome from his past. I particularly love the fact that even though Kevin was an omega, he still was strong-willed and unafraid to get what he wanted out of life. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book!
Also, download and read the free extra "Alpha Blaze: Bonus Baby Book" (the link is at the end of this book); despite some spelling errors it is awesome and lets you know what happens after the end of this book.

A Joyfully Jay review.

3.75 stars

The blurb on this book sounded all kinds of cracktastic to me. While Quinn Michaels is a new to me author and I don’t spend that much time in omegaverse, it just sounded like it could be crazy fun. While it didn’t quite live up to the impression the blurb made on me, it was a solid story with characters that had great chemistry.

We get points of view from both Blaze and Kevin with scenes that overlap at times and I always like reading that style. Blaze is still in good standing with his pack, but his cover is that he is seeking to become part of the rival pack. When he seeks out Kevin for information, he’s astounded at the feelings he has for the man.

Kevin is a walking prisoner. He is the only omega in his pack, his uncle is cruel, and Kevin carries a lot of scars and trauma from his previous mate. Being that these guys are shifters, it’s easy to get on board with the fated mated aspect and go along with the fact that after one meeting, Blaze knows Kevin is his. Kevin wants to believe he can belong to someone, but he doesn’t trust alphas and is looking to run as soon as he has the chance.

Caged Desire

This was the beginning of the original review of this book: Quinn's series just gets better with each. This fourth book in the Pine Creek Lake Den series was worth the wait. I'd been given this story as an ARC in exchange for an honest review, but I enjoyed it so much that I ended up actually purchasing it.
**************************************************************
I guess I can be a bit clueless at times. I was under the impression this was the next Pine Creek Lake Den Book 4, Quinn's previous series instead the First Book of a Spin-Off series until I read the full title while writing this review for both Amazon and Goodreads.

This is in fact the First Book of the Phoenyx Pack series by Quinn Michaels an author that gets better which each completed novel. This spin-off involves Alpha Blaze who conspired with his older Brother (his former pack Alpha) to have a huge fight in order to infiltrate the Scion pack. A notorious motorcycle gang pack lead by Red, a drug dealing, strong willed, vicious Alpha who ran the pack of mostly Alphas with an iron fist. There were several Betas who served their functions as directed by the Alpha and those Alphas closest to him.

He kept his widower Omega nephew, Kevin close to him and away from the lustful advances of the other Alphas in the pack, but there had been a big price to pay. It was only for show - the Pack Elders saw Red's actions as compassionate / sympathetic to his ward. Actually his nephew handled Red's books - did his "unique" accounting so that the washing of the incoming money from the sale of drugs and other illegal , was made to look legit. It's a shame what happened to his other nephew.

This book is as described an Action packed Mpreg novel. That was no exaggeration. The tension could be cut with a knife. The lack of trust between the Alpha and the Omega MCs was bittersweet, but based on the situation what else could be expected. Is a person your friend if you have to pay him to help? There were so many nearly impossible choices people were forced to take it was very suspenseful wondering what would happen next.

Fight or wait for rescue? Give up and resign self to the miserable life you've been living? Try to set aside all defenses to believe in someone you really don't know, but want to if you ever get out of the gigantic mess you're in?

I can't even imagine who Quinn Michaels will have for MCs in the next Phoenyx Pack series book. If it is anywhere as exciting as this one - you are in for a wonderful reading experience.

***************BONUS BABY BOOK************************

What a great follow up to the ALPHA BLAZE and Omega Kevin story. Trust is still a big issue. But something wonderful occurs. After being the pack that rejected the presence of Omegas, the Phoenyx Pack offers a place of refuge. And this short BONUS story more than satisfies what Mpreg lovers crave.

Alpha Blaze by Quinn Michaels 4*

The Scions are a nasty biker gang/werewolf pack, who are involved in plenty of shady dealings including drugs and racketeering. Blaze is an alpha, infiltrating the ranks of the Scions, trying to find out if Red, pack leader, is intending to go to war, or what else he might have up his evil little sleeve. One of the things Blaze finds, that surprises him very much, is his fated mate, Kevin, Red’s nephew. Poor Kevin has been abused by Red (not sexually) since the deaths of Kevin’s parents when he was a child. Kevin is cowed but not broken and he has plans of his own.
I liked the characters of Blaze and Kevin right off the bat. It would have been easy to make them caricatures – Kevin the downtrodden, abused omega, and Blaze, the knight in shining armour. Whilst both were true, that’s not all they were. Kevin had a backbone, a brain and a smart mouth. Blaze had darkness and enough negative qualities, such as hot-headedness, jealousy and even pettiness, to almost throw things off their track once or twice. In other words, the characters were well rounded and believable. There were other very “real” characters of note, of which I liked Carlos and Ricky, two opposite ends of a scale.
There were a lot of quirky “extras” that brought a touch of spice to the recipe. In particular, the other omegas were a pretty mixed bunch. They all had their very individual characteristics. My only complaint is that the author engages in too much physical description in “list form”, that sometimes come quickly, one after another.
Some of the characters, however, did straddle, or even fall over the line into caricature. Jeremy was just too evil, and Red wasn’t entirely believable. Some of the plot points were also a little strained.
That being said the book was a solid read, with good pacing and decent editing. It was smooth and exciting, and the story carried me through from beginning to end.
If you want something just a little bit different from the usual Alpha/Omega, or even if you just want a nice dollop of escapism, then this is definitely the book for you.
And if you enjoy the book, the author has a special treat for you because he’s released a very short Epilogue that picks up with Kevin and Blaze a few months later, just to check in on how they’re getting along.

~ 4.5 Stars ~

I really wasn’t sure about this book at the start, but the more I read, the harder it was to put down. The growing complication that a relationship between Blaze and Kevin would make in both characters’ lives proved to be less important than the connection between them. The pack they both belong to is part drug gang, part biker group, and all wrong. Blaze is just there to protect his brother and his birth pack, while Kevin is trapped by ties of blood to the Alpha, and wants to leave.

Blaze’s character was a little hard to understand from the start, as we just see someone who is acting as a spy for his brother and another pack, but as I read deeper, the layers of his personality were peeled back expertly the further you got into the story. Because of this I would say all of the story is from Kevin’s side, even though there are several points of view from Blaze. Blaze’s personality is only revealed to the reader from his thoughts and interactions with Kevin. In contrast, Kevin is more vulnerable and open to the reader from the start, though there is mystery in his backstory that has shaped where he is now; that gets slowly revealed to us.

I loved the pacing of this story and couldn’t get to the next page quick enough. The plot was different, and I loved how the main antagonist affected the pair’s relationship, both throwing them together and separating them. Blaze’s loyalty, trust, and respect for his mate is what really makes this story and the relationship work as well as it does, given the time frame that is given from when they first meet to the end of the book. In other stories it may have seem a case of instant love, and possibly given all of Kyle’s hang-ups there is still an element of that, but the care and the author’s handling of the relationship lends it credibility.

I really and truly enjoyed this book. I sooo look forward to more books in this series as they come out. Quinn Michaels did an incredible job on this book so I cannot see the other books being bad. So I cannot wait to see what the next books have to come because this one was full of shockers.

Kevin is an omega. But the thing is, in his pack omegas are not cherished. They are treated basically as a commodity. They serve a purpose of only providing babies to keep the pack expanding. So even though Kevin is the Alpha’s nephew, he is not treated great and has not been treated great since his parents died.

When his alpha decides that it is time for Kevin to mate and that all of the other alphas in the pack are to basically compete for him, Kevin is not happy. The last thing that Kevin wants to do is mate again. Especially after the first time. When one of the newest members of their pack makes his interest in Kevin known, Kevin is not happy about that either.

Nor is Kevin happy about the fact that Kevin finds himself attracted to Blaze. Blaze knows that Kevin is something special. Especially since he is attracted to Kevin and Blaze has never found an omega attractive before. The only problem is there is something going on within the pack and if Kevin and Blaze is not careful they could find themselves in a full fledge war.

This book was an exciting read. There is a lot of drama repeated to this read. I enjoyed that not only was it an action packed book but it also was a great ending as well. I truly look forward to more books by his in the future.

Quinn Michaels gives us a different look at shifters and their pack dynamic. Omegas on the very bottom of the list, and of course alphas at the very top. Kevin is the omega that is in a pack that he doesn't want to be in. Ever since his uncle has taken over, the pack has changed and not for the better it seems. When Blaze sort of infiltrates the Scion pack, he realizes that Kevin is his mate. The only issue is how to get Red to allow the two to mate. Kevin will do what it takes to get out of this pack, even if it means doing the unthinkable. Will Blaze be able to save him?

This is my first read by Quinn Michaels. I found this to just be an OK read. For me, I wanted more story, this felt lacking. I felt like half the book was missing, like we were being given half a conversation or half of the situation. This book started already going and just throws you in the mix and you are left trying to figure out what's going on. I'm not even counting the numerous mistakes that I found. I give this 3 stars.

Gritty with layers of deception and intrigue hit all the marks for me. The author did a great job of creating some really despicable characters and contrasting them with the good and honorable. I like the suspense that ran through this story-line and even though you knew who the bad guys were, you didn't know how they were going to get out of the mess.

I enjoyed the writing and the author created characters that you could feel. I also enjoyed the supporting characters from the Omega's to beta's. Kevin and Blaze were really beautiful together, Blaze was so gentle and caring to our very un-trusting Kevin. When they meet each other, both of their plans change and i loved their journey to love. I enjoyed seeing how both men had grown and changed over the course of the book.

This is book one of the Phoenyx Pack Series and i am looking forward to the next book! The world-building in this first book really set the stage for lots of interesting stories. Great read!

I was gifted this book from the author and i freely give my review

A courageous omega, a determined alpha, and a dysfunctional pack? Watch out!

What a stunning first book in the Phoenyx Pack series. I was pulled in from the first pages. The characters are well thought out and intriguing; the world vibrant and full of life. It has it all: a cruel pack Alpha, a courageous omega, an alpha trying to change things, family angst, bikers, necessary violence, fated mates, and kidnapping. I love this book!
Join Blaze & Kevin on their journey to HEA. They will have to bare their secrets and learn to trust. Escapes that don't go as planned, an uncle's cruelty, kidnappings, steamy sex, & unplanned heats add to the excitement. This is one continuous rush. Come along for a wild ride... You will love this book! I can't wait for the next book.
This book contains adult themes and language, mm sex and is intended for mature readers only.

A slightly different look at the Alpha/Omega world. Alphas are the highest rank and Omegas are the lowest and used for breeding in Kevin’s pack. None of this fated mate stuff. And instead of a mountain and forest setting, I loved the setting of the bayou country of Louisiana.

Kevin was a wonderfully written character. You could feel his vulnerability, hiding behind his brave face that he showed to the rest of the pack. At least when he wasn’t trying to hide in plain sight.

Blaze has been sent by his pack to investigate the Scion, never believing he’d meet his mate there. Now he needs to decide how to get his mate to trust him and how to get his mate and the other Omegas out of the pack.

This story flowed along at a nice pace. The characters and the world building were nicely done. I am looking forward to the next in the series.

Alphas Blaze was a pretty good read. There was always something going on. However is did drag a few times towards the middle. I felt there was some unnecessary information just shoved in there for word count.

The chemistry between our two main characters at times had me wanting to scream but at the same time I wanted to jump in the book and hold and protect our hard headed omega.

Overall, this was a decent read.

I really enjoyed this story. The Scions pack is rotten, run through lust for power and fear. Kevin's plan for survival is being invisible, which will only work for so long. Blaze is a spy, pretending to have betrayed his former pack. When Blaze meets Kevin, sparks fly. His priorities shift, he needs to protect and save Kevin. I was invested in this story and the characters. I couldn't stop reading this book because I had to know how everything would work out. I love the set of characters in the story and I am chomping at the bit for book two! I highly recommend getting the free book also, it's a cherry on top.

If you like it hot this is your book!

Kevin is an abused omega who is convinced his life is never going to improve. Then in walks alpha Blaze, a man who treats Kevin like a person and not an object.

The story is not new, but this version is really well written and enjoyable to read. The hope that we all have for finding just the right partner who will make things easier and full of love.

This is a wonderful read and I can't wait for the next in the series.

Most enjoyable read!

Kevin and Blaze are great MCs, fiery, stubborn and great together! This story was just what I needed to lift my spirits because although there was shifter abuse from bad guys, Kevin and Blaze were both intelligent (don’t like stupid or vapid omegas or bullying alphas) and could adapt. Fun read!

Good story

I love a good werewolf M/M romance with a good story, and this didn't disappoint. Blaze was on a mission and found his reluctant Omega. Kevin was jaded by his past and in over his head. Together this Alpha and his mate set out to find their HEA.
Well written, good characters and fast paced story. Thanx.

A Dark and Bloody Path to HEA

This is not your typical light, fluffy romance. It is dark and bloody, with loathsome characters standing in the way of happiness. It is a good story overall, but some may be put off by the violence.

Good story if you're into this type.

It was a good story but for me, I didn't care for it. There was too much over thinking on the part of the characters. At times the, the story sorta dragged.

Scion pack

Titular character Alpha Blaze infiltrates a werewolf pack and finds his mate in the packs sole omega. Michaels weave the dance for a knot into a devious tale involving deception and manipulation. Throwing in switching is a brilliant ploy, and the passion was well done.
