As with all the EMP survival series you don't want to stop until it is done. Our group finds that they are in one horrible situation after another and fight to stay together and to accomplish what needs to be done to survive. Damon and Elliot are the key players but others also step up when needed. Don't start if you don't have time to just read.

No great surprise!

It’s no great surprise that this final book of the series was just as phenomenal as those that preceded it! As always it leaves me feeling slightly depressed to have finished the book/series because closing the cover leaves me missing the characters just like I’d miss a good friend that I had to close a door on. That’s the way it is when reading Jack Hunt. His characters are so relatable and believable that I find myself feeling invested in what happens next and attached to the characters as though they were flesh and blood. That is what an amazing author has the power to do to their readers. Hunt has absolutely become a favorite!!

Gloved in blood and dipping chins.

While I enjoyed this book and the rest of the series, I couldn't get past the author's continual use of the phrases, "gloved in blood," "gloved," and, "dipped his/her chin." These phrases are a favorite of the author, appearing numerous times in every book he has written. I would be interested in going back and using a search function to count. It became annoying. I guess it's a testament to the writer keeping a good story going that I kept reading. This book didn't seem to wrap the series up however. A rushed ending didn't give the characters or story a proper goodbye.

Enjoyable series with realistic charactres

Some series in the EMP survivalist genre are very poorly written with shallow character development and truly terrible grammar. This series was the complete opposite . I found the characters to be realistic , the action fast-paced and overall, a very enjoyable read. I also really appreciate the effort on editing. Instead of struggling to figure out who all the he's and she's were and getting lost in a wide array of other confusing grammatical errors, I could sit back and enjoy the book. I recommend the full series.

Very Good to the Very End

And so the saga is over, although Mr. Hunt could decide to bring back these characters I've grown to love. (hint, hint) And, it was an ending benefiting such a great story of some wonderful characters that have gone through hell and back. But honestly, I'm so sad it's over. Thanks for such memorable characters Mr. Hunt. And, also the great ride of such highly entertaining work.

Survival at its very best.

I’ve never been one for futuristic post Apocalyptic novels or films, but something about these series caught my eye.
The characters feel very real and the positions that they find themselves in.
I hope it never comes to happen, but we’ve had plenty warnings in the last few years. Any one that’s into war novels and survival should find these very interesting

EMP survival series.

This series is very well written with a storyline that is extremely plausible in its content. Characters are likeable and the bad guys are some of the very people you see in our society today. Price is very reasonable for the length of the book your reading. I for one will be reading more of this authors books, starting at the beginning of the week. Do yourself a favor and check out this authors books. You won't regret it.

Good Read!

I always grab books by Jack Hunt. He is a polished, thorough story teller, that won't let you down. I just completed this fourth book in the series and feel like I'm leaving people I know. Plenty of action, likeable characters, good story line. I've never been disappointed with one of his books!

Awesome until the end

This series was thrilling with well defined characters and dialog. However, the final book became a little preachy and ended abruptly. It felt like the author just got tired of the story and ended it. We don't know if the main characters succeeded.
I would still

Excellent Reading.

Set in a post EMP world this series of books brings to the fore what could very possibly happen.
Friends turn on friends, neighbor against neighbor, town against town and as with all things; it proves that there is good and bad in everyone.
I highly recommend this series to anyone who enjoys a good thriller.

Very Good Series

I just finished reading all four books in the series straight through. It's a gripping series, though pretty cynical. Post apocalyptic novels from the fifties and sixties were much more optimistic, maybe because it was expected that most people would be good guys. Most people in this series aren't good guys!

Nope, sorry

I really enjoyed the first two books, but not so much the third. Hoping this book would pick the series back up but fraid not. Worst book so far, thankfully the last in the series. The author has to many personal political rants in The book, put me off reading other books from him.

Fantastic

It's not often the final book in a series feels like the best. Don't get me wrong I loved Books 1-3 but the 4th was special. It felt good to see hope and good winning. It would be fun to read a Book 5 to find out where Elliott and his group ended up after all the bloodshed, fear and loss. Great job again. Thank you.

Disappointing end to great series

I have read many of Mr Hunts books and have loved them all. This final book in the series left a lot unanswered and wrapped up an entire 4 book series In a few paragraphs (cheap lazy ending). I like the author and his work but this one seemed off.

Continuing on after the events of Days of Danger, I expected a conclusion of the series that would cut off all loose ends with a satisfying ending that would capture the thrills throughout the series. And while it did capture the action thrills I've grown accustomed to reading in this series, it fell a little short of giving a clear ending.

After reading the ending, I caught myself asking "what happens now". Because they didn't clearly state how they'd survive after the events of the book.

But even after this disappointment of an ending, I am still happy that I got to enjoy this series. And read through the violent action, memorable characters, and careful strategy that one might face in the event of an EMP.

3.5 stars. Well written but so many characters and little action

The previous 3 books spoiled me: fast-paced, lots of action. Book 4 has far many more characters, yet action often seemed stalled. There's a conclusion to this story yet it's an unsatisfying end to the tale. So many more potential stores!

Excellent Series

I really enjoyed the four books in this series. Elliot, Rayna, Gary, Jill, Jesse, Maggie and Damon go through hell to achieve a sense of family and place. The character build up is brilliant and I felt great empathy for their various situations. You will enjoy this read.

You do what you have to do.

Everyone’s back against the wall. One tyrants vision of how to survive in a post apocalyptic world and his arch enemy. People just trying to survive find themselves doing what they have to do to survive. Exiting. You can almost hear the bullets whirring by. A very good read. Almost like a movie.

Excellent series!

I loved this series! I couldn't stop after reading the first book in the series. A struggle of a group of people who battle to live after an EMP hits the U S. Very fast read.

I really enjoyed this series

This was a very good series, with a good storyline,a lot of excitement, and good characters. The only negative I have is that the end felt a bit rushed and a bit incomplete. Overall though, a very enjoyable series.

Fantastic series

I have read all four books in this series. Hated to see them end. I am hoping for book 5 to see what the group finds in other places. I will be reading more books by this author.

Lots of action

I gave it a 5 star rating because it was a very interesting read. It kept me thinking about reading even if I wasn't reading. I even think I dreamt about helping the group.

Interesting book, I had not realized this was 4th book in a series, but the story flowed well enough to capture the essence of the characters. Have just picked up book one and plan to read the others in series because this one was so interesting.

Good read. Very close to reality

This was a very realistic situation. Well written and technically correct as far as I could tell.
It caused me to think about what I would do it the idiots ever set off an EMP. I'm now a little more prepared.

Story moves well and keeps you reading. Author improved as the series progressed. No misspelled words and other errors that are prevalent in this genre. I would recommend this series.
