Fallen Men #3

Good Gone Bad

Rate this book
They say one action doesn’t define you.
I killed a man. Stabbed him in the neck and licked the blood off my lips after I did it.
Still, one action doesn’t define you.
I could have called anyone. My father, the Prez of The Fallen MC, our family lawyer, my best friend, Lila, or my brother, King.
I didn’t.
Instead, I called Lionel Danner, the police officer renowned for taking down the Nightstalkers MC. The man who had been my father’s arch nemesis for decades. The man who hated everything I stood for. A man who had disappeared from my life without explanation three years ago.
I called him.
And maybe one action doesn’t define you, but killing a bad man and calling in the good changed my life and it sure as hell changed his.

The third book in the Fallen Men series. A standalone featuring Harleigh Rose and Officer Lionel Danner.

5+ Thorny Rose CROWNS

You know when you finish a book and you just have all these emotions swirling around inside. You can’t seem to grasp any single one because you were just on the ride of your life. You are sad it is over, elated with the ending, stressed from the tension and unknown throughout the story. That is how I feel. Giana Darling put me through the wringer with Harleigh and Danner, but, oh, their love is worth the ride.

Danner is, like the other men in the series, a mix of good and bad. He is on the side of good, wearing a badge and promising to protect his city, but he also isn’t afraid to keep them safe by acting criminally if needed. He earns his nickname of Lion for the honor and courage and pride he has. This man is ferocious in the way he loves and protects, and none more so than Rosie. The way he loves her, breaks her, lets her be wild and tames her all at the same time is beautiful. It is them. It is him. It is perfect.

Harleigh Rose is just EVERYTHING. She is a rebel, comfortable in her own skin, proud of her name and her MC. She is her father’s daughter. Like Danner, though, there is a dichotomy to her character. There is a desire to be loved, a need, at times, to be reckless, and a compulsion to rebel. As her name implies, there are thorns and petals to this multi-layered complex heroine, but at her heart, she is a girl who just wants to save the world and her family, to grab her HEA and live it with those she loves in her own way. Damn what anyone else says, and I wholeheartedly love her for it.

The chemistry between these two is electric. It permeates the air, electrifying it, and then combusts in the bedroom. Not only do readers get the hot, dominating intimacy, but we also get the forbidden aspect of their relationship as she is the princess of The Fallen MC and he is a cop. Add to that the danger and drama from the secondary plot of taking down the Beserker MC, and I couldn’t turn the pages fast enough. Giana’s beautifully written prose ensnared me and I didn’t want to break free. Even when it was all over, I wanted more pages to magically appear. I wanted more Lion and Rosie, more family moments with the Fallen, more of the good as Giana worked them over hard in this one. But it is worth it. Every moment, every fight, every victory, hard fought, is worth it.

I would be remiss not to mention Giana’s writing. There are just some authors who are artists, and she is one. The way she composes her stories, her use of syntax and diction, forces me to live these stories. When her characters hurt, I hurt, when they have success, I feel overwhelmed with joy, when they get down and dirty...well, you get what I’m saying. You LIVE her stories. Her writing alone will always make me one-click, but I hope we stay in this world for a very long time.

Good Gone Bad is not just a super steamy romance, it is not just a suspenseful story about taking down a corrupt MC, it is a reflection of how humans aren’t just good or bad. It is a look at how we are both, how we can find our match in another, someone who just inherently gets you. It is about living wild and free while still having limits and being able to surrender and submit for those you love. It is an epic ride I implore you to take. Giana and Danner and Rosie won’t let you down.

TOP READ OF EVER!

I am so so in love with this book and Giana's talent for creating addicting stories and beautiful complex characters. Danner and Harleigh Rose destroyed me and I'm itching to reread it even after I just read the end. I loved so many things in this book--the side characters, new and old, and I loved how Giana surprised me over and over again. And I'm always the one guessing in movies and books what's going to happen, but she managed to surprise me and make me sit on the edge of my seat the entire book. I can't wait for more, I can't wait for anything she writes! I cried, I laughed, I swooned. Giana is an uprising author to watch out for because I know she's going to be on everyone's radar and doing amazing things!

okay but whyyy is there a "game of thrones" death kind of scene in every book in this series so far??? oh my god i am emotionally traumatized helppp.

like, write a warning before i get attached to characters that will end up getting killed off because i aint ready for that shiii

anyways moving on. im glad i enjoyed reading this the second time compared to the first time because when i first read it?? well, i don't know. i guess i was in a bad mood or something because this wasn't bad at all.

also, i guess i was in the mood for smut instead of emotional connection so there's that. and speaking of the smut... HOLY- oh my god. it was dirty. dirty in a sense that i feel like bathing in holy water because look at this:

WARNING: if you're not used to smut or romance please move along and ignore this quote cuz i don't wanna be responsible for damaging y'alls pure, innocent souls. thank you.

D A N N E R (H)
↳ “There’s a new steel butt plug at home with your fuckin’ name on it. Gonna use it to open up your sweet ass while I give my cock to your pussy, then I’m gonna give us both a treat by sinking my thick cock in your ass, four fingers in your cunt, my tongue in your mouth so you’re taking all of me, everywhere you can. Only then, when you’re takin’ all I have to give you like the good girl you are, am I gonna fuck you until the only thing you remember is how to scream my name”

Danner, dude. stop. lemme pray for you. dear heavenly father-

and now moving on to the ~ cheating ~ aspect of the book.
don't worry, Danner technically didn't cheat on HR (though, he did kiss one of the OWs after they've been together but he was undercover sooo) but he did cheat on not one, but TWO of his girlfriends!! and yes, the OWs were full on girlfriends. one of them is a colleague from his work and the other is a "biker chic" he needs to date because he's undercover so it's fake (doesn't stop him from sleeping with her tho because she was one of his "submissives").

but yeah... so basically he cheated on the first OW with the biker chic, then he cheated on the biker chic with the police officer, THEN he cheated on both of them with HR... i-

hmm... this is c o m p l i c a t e d

and it was kind of glossed over?? which is kinda understandable tho since the biker chic's relationship was fake and it wasn't talked about as much since HR is "confident that she's the only one in his life". but still.

i feel bad about the other OW tho. the police officer one. she was nice and he broke up with her over the phone aww. i guess the main thing that annoyed me is the lack of remorse that both characters felt when it came to the cheating.

anywho this does have the age-gap (9 years), forbidden, star-crossed lovers (heroines family is MC and Hero is a cop), unrequited tropes, but because they got together pretty easily and all they did was have sex, i didn't really feel any of the longing or the angsty vibes i was looking especially withe tropes above. i wish there was more push and pull between them and the "before they have sex and become a couple" stage was longer but oh well.

goodness. alrighty, upon reread this wasn't my favorite. it definitely was in line with the previous 2 books in the series but i found myself cringing at the language usage here. and i'm not sure that it's really all that different from the other 2 in that regard but i guess i had my romance reading goggles off for a sec and really noticed some things. i'll leave ya a couple quotes:

"rough fingers lashed out to twist my nipples and pull at them like taffy"

"my thighs so wet with cum they slid together with an audible slosh"
(which, not to split hairs here, always bugs me because i don't really know any women who ejaculate... like yeah you get lubed up if you're having a good time but.. yeah anyway moving on)

there were a few more but i'll leave it there. the romance here was fine but i think it was a little lacking compared to the other books as well. i think this one relied heavily on the built in past and flashbacks rather than the present day romancing. there was dirty raunchy sex and the built in connection but i wanted a lil more romancing. i think the plot was heavier in this one so there wasn't time? not sure. anyway this was still good and entertaining but easily my least favorite in the series so far.

I’m so conflicted about this one because there were things I loved about it and there were things that just didn’t work for me. Sigh. Rosie and Lion are two characters I couldn’t wait to read about. This seemed very much like an opposites attract/forbidden love story and I was so here for that! I loved Rosie and how much she loved Lion and her family. She was tough in the best way and such a strong heroine. There were things I loved about Lion, especially the flashbacks when they were younger. He really stepped up. But there were parts of the plot that rubbed me the wrong way . Of course this one was super steamy and packed full of action, along with being very emotional. I’m so excited for the next because I can’t wait to read more about King and Cress! Even though this was hit or miss for me, overall I’m loving this series and The Fallen so much!

“Tell me a lie,” I told him, to remind him of the duality of our game.
“I hate you,” he replied like he’d been waiting for me to ask. “I hate you with my whole body and all of my soul.”

Book 3 in the series, Good Gone Bad follows The Fallen princess Harleigh Rose (Rosie) and the good cop we've been seeing since book 1, Lionel Danner (Lion).

I wished as I’d only ever wished for him, that I was born a different kind of girl.
But I wasn’t the good girl to his good guy and I never would be.
If Lionel Danner wanted me, he’d have to come to me, over to the dark side where outlaws ruled, sinning was route, and love was blind.
He’d have to be the bad boy to my bad girl.

Like the previous books, there's age-gap in this one too, 9 years this time!

There's a lot happening in this book, starting with when the book opens with HR murdering her piece-of-shit bf. Honestly, I gave up on following the plot of this one about halfway through the book, because it was doing it's own thing, going in so many different directions at the same time and I was there like -

Rosie and Lion, though, were the best part of reading this. They had such a great chemistry, and the sex scenes in this one, oh god!! 🔥

She was half-heaven, half-hell, each meeting at the apex of her thighs. And when I worshipped there, it was both a prayer and a sin.

I loved the flashbacks, and seeing how, through the years, Lion had been there for his Rosie whenever she needed him.

However, what I hated about this story (apart from the huge-ass plot holes) was the cheating aspect, even though it's not between these two! Lion had been dating two women at the same time, and he cheated on them with Rosie. I don't understand why it was necessary for the book, but whatever, docked .25* for that, because your girl here is the embodiment of justice

Also, what was the deal with the last chapter? How can that end in a cliffhanger, and then we get an epilogue where everyone, and I mean EVERYONE, has their HEA with a bunch of kids? It was weird I tell you!

Apart from that, this was an entertaining read, with the best romance in the series so far.

“I fucking love you, okay?”
He kissed me like he owned me, one hand going to the skin over my heart and pressed there, warm and heavy, and the other diving into my hair so he could hold me how he wanted.
“Fucking love you too,” he rasped against my damp lips before pushing me back against the counter. “Brutally, savagely, fucking endlessly.”

Unpopular opinion alert...I was SO very much looking forward to this book, but I think it fell victim to the end of the year funk I seem to be in. Or maybe my expectations were too high after how much I loved the first two books. It wasn't a bad book by any stretch. Hence why I am giving it 3-Stars. It was still a very well written book. The sex was SMOKIN' hot. The plot was engaging. Although there were a few things that didn't quite make sense to me in regard to Danner being undercover. I also felt the plot was a little all over the place at times. The characters (both primary and secondary) were well developed and interesting. The ending was sweet. All positives things...that said, it was my least favorite book of the series.

description

I didn't like the set up with the other women stuff. I feel like this is me being super picky, but it was in my face a bit too much and bothered me. I wasn't a fan that Larkin was Harleigh Rose's friend and had been Not to mention on top of that he was also banging a cop for two years. I am not even sure what the point was with this since it added NOTHING at all to the story and literally went NOWHERE. I am not sure why the author felt Danner needed to be romantically involved with TWO different OW. It was just a bit too much for me and lessened my enjoyment of both the story and Danner as a hero (especially with the douchey way he ended things with the cop).

On top of that, I wasn't a huge fan of the flashbacks. There wasn't too many of them, but they weirded me out a bit because in most of them Harleigh Rose is super young. So we would get a flashback scene between her and Danner (who is ten years older than her), then move to the present where they would be having kinky ass sex. It was a bit...I don't know...creepy? Weird? Jarring?

description

In any case, as I said, it wasn't a bad book, I think my mood played a major role in my feelings about this one for sure. So do keep that in mind when deciding if you want to read this one or not.

I'll keep this short and to the point. I loved Welcome to the Dark Side but this one didn't work for me at all, unfortunately. There were pacing issues, continuity issues, character issues. I'm all for Danner's hidden dark and dirty side, but I felt like I was reading about a completely different character than I met in previous books. I couldn't click with Harleigh Rose to save my life and the story was just all over the place for me. The one silver lining was Wrath. God but that man is all sort of delicious. But don't take my word for it. I'm a picky shit and so many people loved this one. Read it and see for yourself.

exactly what it needed to be

i really enjoyed this one! had been putting it off for a while because bad girl romances can be kinda hit or miss for me. but i enjoyed book 2 in this series immensely and was impressed with this author's writing so i shouldn't be so surprised i liked this.

i think the best way to tell if this is for you is just listing a couple things that made this book a winner for me:

- age gap
- second chance with flashbacks
- MC romance (duh) with lots of plot & rival biker gang shit
- good guy in the streets absolute freak in the sheets
- cute perfect sweet puppy

i was kinda unsure about the whole MC princess + cop thing but it wasn't really how it sounded from the synopsis. anyway i liked this, and if you liked book 2 you will prolly enjoy this one too

I just finished reading a story about a badass biker chick and her straight laced cop gone badass Dom and I loved every hot, feisty, dirty, messy, sexy bit of it. Officer Danner straddled the line between dirty and sweet so well that I quickly fell in love with him. His Harleigh Rose definitely lives up to her name! She is a tough girl with a soft heart hidden on her sleeve that only Danner can see and tame (sometimes 😉).

Giana Darling's books are always a great read, but I must confess that the Fallen Men series is a go to read for me. I mean who wouldn't want men like biker poet King, hot as hell MC pres Zeus, or dirty Dom Officer Danner in their lives, even for a short while. Officer Danner and his little rebel's story, 'Good Gone Bad', is an excellent edition to the series.

5 STARS!!
He fucked me like he hated me, and it was the best lie he ever told.
AAAHHHHHHH! I didn't just LIKE this one, I ADORED it!!

Warning : this is probably my most biased rating ever. :-) In the interests of maintaining my integrity (lol), here are the true deets:
Characters ===> 5+ STARS
Romance ====> 5+ STARS
Writing ======> 5+ STARS
Plot =========> 2 STARS
(serious plausibility issues/plot holes)
I feel like a bit of a hypocrite, because I'm always going on about believability being the most important thing in a book. But here, the ROMANCE was EVERYTHING, and I am not going to apologize for how much I loved this one. :D

[ side note/FYI : I thought the first chapter of this book was one of the best openings I've read all year. Even if you're not interested in reading Good Gone Bad, I urge everyone to go read the sample - it's worth it!]

Okay, finally the review:

The absolute highlight of this book was the main characters. They were complex and so well-drawn; I could not get enough of Harleigh Rose and Lion!
This was true freedom, giving myself over to the hands of a man who would let me run wild, but keep me safe as I did it.
God, these two! They were INTENSE, they were CONFLICTED, they were EXPLOSIVE - and that's separately. Together, they TORCHED my Kindle and left me as a gooey mess on the floor.
"It may be your body Harleigh Rose, but I own it."
Lionel Danner was an incredible hero; blue collar, Alpha, dark, tortured - Gah! Exactly my kryptonite. The way he wanted to do right by HR was lay-you-out-on-the-floor swoonworthy. He loved her with everything he had.
"You aren't a victim here, Rosie, you aren't letting life catch you up in this fierce fucking storm. You are the storm, this is your set up, these are your choices, and you're strong so you'll blow furious and true until you see this thing through."
And then there's the heroine: Harleigh Rose Garro was the absolute bomb! Crazily enough, I loved her MORE than Lion. She was all heart, all strength; a true badass that kept Lion on his toes.
"Fuck me, but you're fuckin' trouble," he muttered.

"You love it," I sassed, because sassing the patriarchy was my bread and fuckin' butter.
She too, loved Lion so fiercely.
If I knew one thing in my life, it was that I was safe with Danner.
With this installment of The Fallen Men, Giana Darling has firmly entrenched herself on my favorite authors list. There's something so satisfying about her poetic, in-your-face writing style.
My good intentions were quickly drowning in a riptide, waterlogged with impossible questions, choking on moral ambiguity as difficult to digest as ocean waves.
Now all she needs is a beta reader who's willing to point out all the plot holes, LOL. Anyway, is it Spring 2019 yet? I NEED the next installment!

3.5-4 'My thorny Rose' Stars!

I continue with my journey with The Fallen Men series, now being time for Harleigh Rose (Daddy Zeus' daughter) and Lionel Danner (a dirty Dom cop). I have to say to start, Welcome to the Dark Side is still my favorite in the series. Zeus and Loulou's story is amazing and I really connected with them from the very start. I also really enjoyed reading Good Gone Bad, I loved Harleigh Rose getting her chance with Lion and their burning connection but I have to say I also had some issues with them sometimes.

Damn, things are not easy for The Fallen MC and for this couple and it sure was a roller coaster to go through this book. I love Giana's writing and how she develops her stories and characters. Rosie and Lion were no exception. The issues I had mostly have to do with the kinky aspect of their relationship but the feelings and suspense took so much of the story that I got passed it. I loved this couple's HEA and I cannot wait to read more of this wonderful MC series!

I am very disappointed. Really am. After a wonderful Welcome to the Dark Side, Good Gone Bad is a let down. Big time. I have so high expectation on this book. I was expecting another masterpiece.
The story and the plot is OK. Only Miss Darling fills the story with too much of repetitive conversation.

Especially for Lion's POV or conversation. All I heard is how Rosie is his. Over and over again. It seems this guy just show up on the plot when Rosie needs to be declared she is his. Even the sex tastes sour. Rosie is heroine that I find hard to swallow. She is bad, naughty, but try to be good. She is also immature and selfish. Ultimate drama queen.

With my dislike of the characters, the plot getting hard to like. Miss Darling putting too much repetitive plot into it. Instead of enjoying it, I can not wait to go to my next book.

Everyone knows I fangirl this author pretty hard. Her stories are some of the best kink I've read. And I've read a lot. She understands the dynamics involved in true BDSM better than anyone. This book though, this one nailed it for me.

HR & Lion's story gave me EVERYTHING I want in a filthy read, but more importantly it also gave me EVERYTHING I need in a love story.

Harleigh Rose and Danner are complex characters. They are flawed, they are genuine, they are believable and I adore them. Before reading this story I wasn't sure how I felt about Harleigh Rose, from her behaviour in previous books I thought maybe she was an MC Brat - but I was wrong. Giana made me love her. Made me feel very protective of her and made me desperate for her to get her HEA. Danner, now he was a character I wanted more of from the first scene he appeared in. He's my favourite kind of kinky, complicated, peel back the layers hero.

This story is fast paced, action packed and DELICIOUS! It gives you the heat you expect from this author, along with the raw emotions I love in her romance. And because it's Giana - she of course also made me cry. I think she collects her reader tears in a jar & keeps them on her desk, smiling to herself, as she writes stories that hurt my heart in the best possible way.

Catching up with the other Fallen MC brothers was not a hardship and I cannot wait for more from this MC Series.

Definitely a favourite of 2018 for me.

Mind blowing , shocking and a must read

Wow, what a story; it's raw, unfiltered, passionate , gritty and sexuality explicit . I enjoyed reading this no hold barred , page - turner tale. Lionel Danner and Harleigh Rose Garro are two of the most intense , conflicted and endearing characters I have read in a while and their road to HEA it's full of deep lows , inconvenient half truths and a passion and love for each other that knows no bounds.

Good Gone Bad is intense; I believe , at some point while reading it , I must have had an emotional short circuit...
Giana Darling , delivers an unapologetically , unrestrained, gripping and emotional story that keeps you guessing and saying to yourself "OMG , what the hell!". Be prepared to be blown away !

Good Gone Bad left me a bundle of emotions and open nerve endings , Ms. Darling you slayed me!
And I can hardly wait for book 4 in The Fallen Men Book Series.

I didn’t think that Giana could’ve brought the heat like she did in “Welcome to the Dark Side “but boy was I wrong!! Good Gone Bad was like pure dirty delicious sexual ecstasy that made you want to never come down. Bordering on good vs bad, this story was the epitome of love, honor, and family.

Harleigh Rose has always known her worth. Growing up in a biker family with her father as the President, fear has never been in her blood but power and strength has. Now in trouble of her own, you would think that she would call on her own family to come to the rescue but she doesn’t. Instead she’s enlisted the help of a man who’s relationship is not only complicated, it’s forbidden and dangerous.

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Lionel Danner is a lot of things but he’s not a complete saint. Sure he’s done a lot of good things in his life, abided by the law which he loved so much he became an officer, and rescued two people who needed it the most. Little did he know, was that act of kindness was going to bring him not only new friendships, but love and a fierce protection as well.

I have been on this journey since King’s story and I haven’t looked back since. I thought his book had a nice piece of the forbidden aspect to it and I loved the brotherhood and bond of his family blood or not. Then I got to read Daddy Zeus story and it was game over!! Power, swagger, love, ambition, heartbreak, you name it and it was there.

Which now leads to me to Danner and Rose’s story: these two were explosive! Harleigh knew exactly what she wanted and was a complete bad a**. The girl had no fear and I loved her bravery and her spunk. Her relationship with Danner was beyond complicated and I certainly hated their situations at times, but they made it work and because of that, these two were a force to be reckoned with.

If you haven’t read this series, you really need to because trust me when I say, these men will do you in!

4.5 Stars. This book was an exercise in extremes. There were things I loved about it and things that just didn’t do it for me. Harleigh Rose, our heroine, had contrasts that made her an interesting lead. She’s most definitely the bad girl to Lion’s good guy getting herself into all kinds of trouble but she has a big heart and is fiercely protective and loyal. I enjoyed her growth as the story progressed. Lion brought his own contrast to the mix with a hidden aspect to his personality that definitely translated well and into some hot as hell scenes. 🔥🔥🔥

“Gonna tame you, leave you just wild enough to fight back against every touch, buck back against every thrust...”

The pace was solid. Secondary characters were used well. The plot was good but there were some inconsistencies. I’m a firm believer that we are responsible for our own actions, so there’s an aspect of the book that I struggled with. Still, I found myself eagerly devouring the words. The plot got especially interesting at the end. Can’t wait to read the next one. I hope we get Nova’s tale soon. :-p

Safety: There are others for both after their first physical intimacy though they are not “together”. Without giving plot elements away, I’ll say there is no sex with others after they are officially together BUT there is mild intimate contact due to circumstances on both end.

The best in the series so far (plot wise), and very angst inducing. I felt Rosie's pain at being unable to talk to her family lest she put them in danger. I hated that for her and couldn't wait to see them all together again. Then came that ending??? So now I have to jump into book four stressed instead of relaxed, how rude!!

Anyway, I liked the romance, it was less uncomfortable than the previous two, and the age difference wasn't a big part of the plot.

The steam wasn't my thing, so I do wish that we got some more scenes of them just being cute together (outside of the flashbacks, I mean). I know that was kind of hard to do with everything that was going on though so I'm giving it a pass.

What I'm not giving a pass, however, is .

We also didn't get as many scenes featuring the Fallen & their families as we did previously. Again, plot, I know, BUT. Their bond is my favourite thing about this series and why I'll keep reading it until I'm done, so it was a bit disappointing that we only got a few cameos.

Circling back to that ending, it felt out of place, or rather, the happily ever after epilogue right after it did. Like, your whole world crashed one page ago, now suddenly it's all fine, whiplash.

I'm giving this a four star rating on Goodreads, but do know that it's a 3.75 in actuality ok!!

I really enjoyed this third book in the fallen men series it didn’t grip me quite as much as the previous two but was still fabulously well written and engaging managing to draw me in and invest me in the unfolding drama.

I’ve always been slightly fascinated and curious regarding the youngest Garro Harleigh Rose, she’s such a powerhouse of female sass and defiant attitude and the girl gives as good as she gets and is definitely a chip off the old block.

We have had glimpses of Lionel Danner throughout this series and here he is finally brought to centre stage and we get to see just how much he has evolved breaking out from under his corrupt father's thumb and the catalyst for all this seems to be the Garro kids.
Their presence in his life has made him question all of his deep-set prejudices and preconceived ideas finally giving him that extra push to finally go his own way.
Lion is a man who straddles the line and fights against his very nature which is one of the reasons he ran from his Rosie when his bond with her began to evolve.

So this one was filled with danger and when these two reconnect there both knee-deep in all sorts of intrigue.
Lion is working undercover now, a fully patched member of the berserkers an MC that Harleigh Rose is also heavily involved in through her on/off boyfriend Cricket.

With so much to lose and to protect her family our girl decides that the berserkers are going down this particular MC is rotten to the core and are proving a real threat to her fallen family even more so when a familiar face from her past is added to the mix.
Harleigh will risk losing the very people she’s trying to keep safe as she attempts to distance herself while she works towards keeping them free from harm.

Teaming up with lion both to take down this MC and also in his bed hard choices will need to be made ones that will test their bond to its very limit.
This one definitely has a love across the barricades vibe, a modern Romeo and Juliet theme if you get my drift.
The sex here was hot and kinky as all hell Lion is a definite freak between the sheets, a dominant who likes a submissive woman in his bed but also a feisty one with prickly thorns elsewhere and Harleigh finds it liberating and freeing to relinquish that control to him in the bedroom and
Underneath all that attitude and mouth is a vulnerable girl one that she has buried down deep but lion discovers.

One thing that I wasn’t a fan of though was that Lion had two other women on the go when he and Harleigh reconnect.
One is a cop he is dating and to be fair he does dump her fairly swiftly but I actually did feel a tad bad for the woman and couldn’t really see the point to her inclusion either and the other is a biker chick he has claimed as his old lady as part of his cover.
He doesn’t actually sleep with either of them after harleigh’s reappearance but he does make out with his old lady in public so as not to blow his cover.
I so wasn’t a fan of this scenario and it did take some of my enjoyment of this away because of that.
Harleigh was definitely jealous but didn’t seem worried in the slightest that he wanted any of them over her and it wasn’t even majorly discussed between them.

Other than the above this one was grand it was tension-filled and heart-pounding mostly because of the danger involved and was a great addition to the ongoing series, I also really did appreciate the epilogue.

4.5 Stars!

Oh I loved this a LOT! And I just want to start out by saying how much I appreciated that Giana took the time for our couple to have a conversation surrounding what it means to be in a Dom/Sub relationship and the safety/trust around it.

This really worked for me because I love when my darker romances have action in them, and HR and Lionel working together to take down a rival MC? It fit the bill perfectly.

I have loved HR from the moment I met her and my heart broke for her as I read this story. She is such a strong and powerful woman, but she still found herself stuck in an abusive relationship that led her tied to an awful MC. She has always been kickass, but you see her truly come into her own and become ever stronger over the course of this book as she becomes determined to do anything to protect those she loves.

Her and Lion were also adorable and I loved their sweet but filthy romance.

Can we just take a minute to break over this line: ”I’d break my own heart a million times over if it meant keeping you alive."

There were quite a few flashbacks, which won’t work for everyone, but I really appreciated them as we had seen hints in the first two books that there was something brewing here!

Sadly, this wasn’t a total 5-star because King & Cress are still such an OTP.

✨ 5 REBEL STARS ✨

This might be the hardest review I've had to write in a while because I really want to do it justice but I just don't even have the words.

Good Gone Bad is as beautiful as a rose with thorn like scenes that will pierce your heart. It's sweet, hot but most of all heart-rending.

I loved everything about it and it ruined me in all the best ways! I was so engrossed reading the first chapter that I almost missed work (where I continued to read because I couldn't put it down). Days later after I've finished the book and I still haven't recovered!

description

I loved their sweet moments together, the music, the loyalty, the side characters and their lives. The small details and hidden clues. We also get the most out of everyone than we ever did but especially with Lion and Rosie, separated and together! There are so many surprises and new characters that you will adore while others you will hate with a passion.

One of the things I liked about Lion is that he is obviously different from Giana's other men but with tiniest hints of Sin, King and Z! The best combination but he is clearly his own character. He also loves differently and in a way you that will be explained later into the story.
My heart kept breaking for HR but I also admired her so much more. You think you know Harleigh Rose but you'll be surprised by her heart and how fiercely she loves, then again she's a Garro! And, little Rosie is just the cutest!!

Each of the Fallen men has his own version of love letters, and Lion is no different. Rosie and Lion's music connection and playlists became as special to me as Z & Lou's letters and King's poems, if not more. I implore you to listen to the playlist while reading, it's perfect for them and a huge part of their story.

Now I have to mention the epilogue because it was EVERYTHING!!! The best for so many reasons you're not even ready for! You will definitely need it after the last 30% of the book that will tear you apart. So hang in there.

Finally (if you made it this far), I must say this book is definitely my favourite of the Fallen Men Series to date, and in my opinion the best Giana Darling has written yet. I can't wait for you guys to meet Dirty Danner and his rebel thorny Rose and hopefully fall in love with them as much as I have.

Holy gambit of emotions!!! I was completely blown away by the dominating and incredibly sexy officer turned biker Dirty "Lionel" Danner! Between the sexy as hell chemistry between "Lion" and Harleigh Rose and the intense scenes of violence. I found myself glued to this fascinating book well into the night. Giana Darling really delivers a detailed and well developed cast of characters, they come to life the minute you open the cover right until you turn the last page! A totally addicting story that keeps you guessing what will happen next. I have loved Giana's men in the "Corruption Series" and believe that Lion may just be the sexiest yet!!! Get your copy today and be prepared for the ride of your life!!!

4.5 Good Girl Stars

I love it when a highly anticipated read delivers exactly what I need and want! And boy oh boy did this one deliver. Harleigh Rose and Dirty Danner did not disappoint! I absolutely loved their love story.

The author ups the ante with each subsequent release. The stakes are higher each release and the stories get better and better. Each one leaving the reader on the edge of their seat. Most impressive is the fact that the author's writing also gets progressively better with each release.

Here's what I loved:
The writing was great! The plot and execution were good.
I loved the main characters and loved seeing characters from previous books in the series. Danner is by far my favorite male lead in the series. Gah!! He is something else! He's the perfect combination of sexy and possessive.
The MC in this one really got under my skin, but added a depth to the story that was definitely worth it.
Heroooooooo! *sobs*
While I wanted to throat punch a few of the characters, they also served their purpose and I got it.
Typically, I hate flashback scenes, but I did enjoy seeing the history between HR and Lionel. It was sweet to see how their bond formed and was solidified.

All in all, this was an excellent read!

So why, the missing .5 stars? I had a couple ticky little issues with the plot. They are highly subjective, but left me feeling like I was missing or misunderstanding something. Other than that....pure perfection!

I highly recommend this one for readers who enjoy gritty MC romances and light BDSM.

I absolutely adore Harleigh Rose and Lion. This is a wonderful story of a young woman who is the Princess of a motorcycle club and a cop & their age gap romance. Similar to the second book, the two characters have known each other for many years and “grew up” together. The story goes back and forth to showcase this and sometimes this can be done in a way that’s boring or not needed but I loved any tidbit I could get with Lion and Rosie.

This story opens up with a bang, Rosie has killed her boyfriend, and with blood still on her hands she reaches out to the only man who has always gotten her out of every bad situation. He is a good man with a dark side and I really enjoyed seeing these two sides of Lion come together.

If you’re looking for a book with some steam… this has it! I absolutely loved the chemistry between the main characters.

This is a dark book with dark subject matters that come with the 1%ers MC’s. So be aware. But if you’re looking for a wonderful age gap MC romance to pick up!! It’s right here!!
