Rate this book
In May 2009, Stirling Albion F.C. became an overnight sensation. The Buy Stirling Albion campaign - an attempt to make Albion Scotland's first 100 per cent supporter-owned club - was launched. Suddenly the club was in the spotlight and on the verge of making history. As the team chased promotion, behind the scenes Stirling were in turmoil. Each week fresh crises pushed Albion closer to extinction. Could the campaign raise the funds in time to save the club? “Saving the Albion”, is a remarkable chapter in Scottish football history. It is a story of hopes and fears, a tale for any fan ever to have wondered how it might feel to watch their club challenge for the title whilst worrying that it might not be around tomorrow.

A nicely detailed account of the battle to save a small town football club from extinction. I suppose this book will have a limited market but it's worth your time if you have any interest at all in grass roots football.
