The journey to and through motherhood is as unique and different for each of us as petals to a flower. Here are the stories of four very different women, navigating their way through love and motherhood in their own special way. The Pact Robyn is a sassy go-getter who unintentionally put motherhood on hold to pursue other endeavors. A pact made between she and her best friend, Marcus, when they were both too young to comprehend the weight of a promise, has finally reached its due date, and neither of them expected for things to get so complicated.
The Gift Belamy is the owner of a local daycare, surrounded by children every single day, but unable to bear a child of her own. The guilt of her situation forces her to literally foster children in an attempt to fill the void, but her husband, Steven, has grown tired of licking her wounds when the temporary living conditions expire, and the children find forever homes. One particular child who falls into Belamy’s arms in the most bizarre circumstances, seems to be a perfect fit. But her permanent placement in Belamy’s heart could potentially take up more space than Steven is willing to share.
The Decision Tremaine is a hard-working, independent, around the way girl, tormented by a past that has forced her to be reclusive. With no real example of a model relationship or model parenting, she avoids anything beyond physical intimacy at all costs. Until... Leif comes along with just as much baggage as she has, willing to help her carry the load. Somewhere along the way, a moment of spontaneity leaves the both of them sitting with a decision that will change the course of their relationship.
The Loss Justine is a Preacher’s daughter who has done everything right for the most part. She fell in love with the man of her dreams, Khalil, when he literally swept her off her feet. A short while into their relationship, a tragic event takes place, leaving Justine with a difficult decision. She makes it, and is better because of it, until things fall apart in the worst way that any mother could ever imagine.

I truly experienced so many emotions with this one. The last story truly got to me. Justine and Khalil lawd they had me in tears. I loved that Petals connected everyone together. The true beauty of flowers and how they can brighten your day, make your memories more alive. Every couple in this story has a connection with one another, I hope they have a reunion or something lol. First book I've read by this author and I'll definitely be reading more
I purchased Petals around Mother's day thinking that's what I'll read next! These stories and how they tie together is storytelling at its best. I laughed, cried and everything in between while reading these pages!! Loved it!!!!
First time reading this author and I absolutely enjoyed it. I liked how each story gave a beginning, middle, and resolution. The author expertly connected all of the different stories to a nice ending.
This is a book of short stories that intersect in such a powerful way. It is truly worth your time to go on the journey with these characters. I like the way this author takes average people and their trials and get you invested so quickly. I really relate to her characters, and you want to see them win in the end. I’ll just say that when a book has you crying until your shoulders are jumping, they’ve succeeded in getting you emotionally invested. BRAVO to her.
Honestly, take the ride and read these stories. It was so worth it!
I really enjoyed this book! Each individual story was heartwarming, engaging and nicely interwoven with a few unexpected twists and turns along the way. This author has a knack for telling great stories, which reinforce the fact that love doesn't have to be perfect to eventually conquer all.
This novel has me filled with so many emotions. I was hooked from the beginning. If you thought The Bricks series was good honey this author poured everything she got plus a little extra up in there! Sabrina if you ever put down that pen I promise you my heart would break! I wish I could give you more stars ⭐️
I loved this story of the four couples whose lives are intertwined through its focus point being the floral shop. Tremaine and Leif were my favorite couple. But Khalif was very heart touching for me. Little Ava was so special. I gave this collection 5 stars because its stories were heartfelt -each with a different message about life. I truly enjoy this authors work.
I found this book on another author's Facebook page. I read it in less than a day. I loved the characters and how the writer tied everything together. At the end, I wanted more, which is always a good sign. I found this collection of short stories excellent. The writing style reminded me of the late, great J. California Cooper. I look forward to reading more.
I really enjoyed this read with saparated story that where connected and complete. Even tho I wanted more it was not a must. Every women was goin through their LIFE but the guys loved on them through it all
I loved the unique journey that each of these experiences took us on. Really enjoyed the strength of the characters and, as always with Ms.Scales, her writing style and ability to make us feel with the charachters

I'm in tears as I'm writing this review. This book was so touching, and the author did an amazing job of connecting four journeies to Motherhood and bringing things full circle. I recommend you one click this book!

Petals was a collection of nicely woven stories about love, loss and the heart of a woman to love with immense capacity. Each story was magnificently told.... 5 stars.
I enjoyed each short story & LOVED how they all related to each other. Sabrina did it again and I like to read more about Mrs.Hargrove & Ava's story 😉👏👏
This is definitely my feel good read for 2020!!! I'm never disappointed with Sabrina's writings. Petals intricately weaves the journey of four women through life, love and motherhood. I enjoyed and related to all the women but Tremaine and Justine are women after my own heart.
I read this book before the COVID Semester of college and failed to write a review. My apologies.
I do know that I enjoyed this book, but there hasn't been a book of Sabrina E.L.B. Scales that I've read that I didn't like. I enjoy her writing and the life she brings to her characters. Her stories flow smoothly allowing the reader to kick back, relax, and enjoy the ride!
I loved how the story started out. I thought I was reading one whole book, but it turned to be intertwined stories on some strong ladies and their choices and how best to live their lives. I could not put this down and do plan to reread in the near future. I feel there are some things I may have missed in each story.
What an emotional journey! These stories were heart wrenching, and had my eyes leaking. The uncertainty, pain and damage these women endured; then the hope and love that emerged on the other side was beautiful! Miss Scales you have done It again! Bravo!
Sabrina! You so wrong for this! You tied those stories together perfectly! That last one took my breath away! Now I wanna call petals and get an update on everybody and meet little Miss Ava.
You must read this book. I promise you will laugh smile and cry. The connections are just so pure and beautiful. Yes it’s some heavy parts but the rain will bring some beautiful “petals”
Thank you for writing these stories. They needed to be told. So many of us have been through one or some of these stories of strong women filled with passion working their way through life and hurt and healing and most of all love.
