"""For the protection of the good, for the destruction of the wicked, for the sake of establishing righteousness, I come into birth from age to age..."" The Lord descends among us as an avatara, when dharma declines. Spiritually potent, the story of the Lord's avataras are also fascinating narratives told to us in the great puranas for our edification and enlightenment! Rev. Dada J. P. Vaswani's compact book on the Dashavataras captures this fascination and the spiritual potency in a fluid narrative told in Rev. Dada's inimitable style. "
Being an Atheist i read few books written by Babas & Gurus just to know their intentions and thought process. This book gives u a basic understanding of 10 Avatars of hindu mythological Gods which is really good. The problem with this book is writer saying that there are 2 Buddhas, one is Avatar of Vishnu who came to question Animal Sacrifice and to propagate peace and the other one is who questioned caste system, he writes like 1st one is the real(U feel it) & I am skeptical before saying this:- Is writer part of many Hindu upper caste people who spew venom and hate on Gautam Buddha for questioning Caste hierarchy? as he divided him in to two persons. People still question that Hindus have added a real person "Buddha" in to their myths and called him as an Avatar. So that part was bad. Finally this writer also joins the bandwagon of many religious cults who appeal to their culture and call myths as "History". If you like to read & know about 10 Avatars of Vishnu then this book is a cool one. It's a short summary of all those avatars and doesn't take much time to read.
