I don't know how this book slipped past me on Goodreads. I've had it for years, and reference it often for sock patterns.

Sorry, Ann Budd, but I think Charlene Schurch may have superseded you as the High Goddess of Sock Knitting. This book not only describes in very clear terms and photos how to knit a basic sock, but it also shows you more variations (toe-up, various heels, two circulars, multiple patterns) than you could possibly ever knit. The book is beautifully and amply illustrated. Kneel before the Schurch.

The BEST sock book! Lots of stitch and color patterns, lots of heel and toe options. Lots of beautiful socks. Top-down or toe-up for every pattern. All the numbers crunched so you could knit any sock in the world in YOUR size and gauge.

A must read for sock knitters whose feet do not fit traditional "one size fits all" knitting patterns. The treasure trove of this book is the multiple pages of charts the author has that help you adapt ANY sock pattern to YOUR foot. Just find gauge on one side of the graph, your foot size on the other and where the two meet you know how many stitches to cast on and how to adapt the pattern. I got this one from the library just to see how it was, and it is a definite must buy knitting book for my shelf.

This book, and the first one, both give several patterns with varying numbers of stitch repeats that can be combined to make really neat socks. Plus, it gives detailed charts to determine how many stitches should be cast on and how long the foot should be based upon foot size. Great resource for any sock knitter to have in their library.

I haven't made anything from this book yet so I can't say for sure that its good but I want to make just about every sock in there.

As much as I loved the first book, I love this one more - more designs, more ways to build a custom pair of socks... what more could I ask for?

Some good info, but the patterns are too complicated for me.
