Twin Scottish brothers do time-travel errands for Druids
Tavish was the best boyfriend Kelsey ever had, but seven years ago he disappeared. She coped with her heartbreak by finishing her doctorate in Celtic Artwork, and now her career is taking off. Except Tavish keeps showing up at her job sites and butting into her business - all the while wearing that stupid sexy kilt. But she's here to see the ruins, not Tavish. So she'll just have to show him who's boss at this site. Because under these cliffs at Dunskey Castle it is rumored lies the ancient palace of the kings of Alba (Scotland). Gggrr. Why does he seem to know more about it than she does?
With her new doctorate in Celtic Archaeology, Sasha just got her dream job at a dig in the highlands of Scotland. Where her friends ply her with celebratory champagne, throw a plaid cloak over her business suit, and take her to the 14th century to do original research on the dig site. She meets gorgeous highlander Seumas there, and — wait, is this a good idea?
A call from an old friend stirred up feelings Amber thought she had buried years ago. Kelsey wanted help at a dig under an old Scottish castle. Tomas's twin brother would be there, so wouldn't Tomas be there sometimes, too? Amber didn't jinx it by asking Kelsey that. Nope, she just got on the next flight.
Each of these stories is a complete sweet Scottish romance with time travel and a happily ever after HEA ending for that book's couple. Scots dialect is used to stand in for Gaelic throughout. The dialect has been toned down, but it still is a bit challenging at first. Many readers love the dialect as something special about Jane Stain's books.
Previously published as books one through three in the Dunskey Castle Series.
I tried to like it but the writing was rough like an amateur wrote it. Some parts were okay but I had a hard time following the story.
The men came off as big, dumb overprotective puppies and the women were just unlikeable. Sasha was okay but the author tried to make her too amiable which came off as foolish.
I am not a writer but I have read over a thousand books in my lifetime so I know a poorly written one when I read it.
I loved these stories. It was awesome the way that she wound the lives of two people from different time periods together in these love stories. And they are clean ones. Not full of steamy sex scenes.
The story was decent but I’m not sure if it was intentional or an editing issue, but the story kept jumping - to a different time/physical place/ activity. It was almost as if an editor had just deleted sections of the book. It was disconcerting, and somewhat frustrating sometimes. Though I did finish all 3 books in the bundle, I won’t get the next book in the series.
Tavish (Dunskey Castle #1), my second read from author Jane Stain, an author I've wanted to read since I began acquiring her books back in 2017, I own 21 of them.
Seumas (Dunskey Castle, #2), my third read from author Jane Stain.
Tomas (Dunskey Castle, #3), my fourth read from author Jane Stain. I've committed to reading the Dunsky Castle series in its entirety. I look forward to the next book from her, Time of the Celts (Dunskey Castle #4). I'll read more from this author & in this series, but what really got me going was narrator Andrew McDermott, I love his Irish brogue. “I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review." The gifting of this book did not affect my opinion of it. (RIP Marley January 20, 2014 - July 24, 2018).
I had read the prequel several years ago and enjoyed it. Books 1 and 2 are a good fun read. I liked the characters and the plot moved along nicely. I found book 3 a bit of a tedious. The heroine was angry with good reason, but vacillated quickly between fixing things and running away. The mood swings seemed more appropriate for a teenager. The prequel dealt better with druids taking over others. I suspect Dunskey Castle 1-3 was written earlier than the prequel.
3 love stories in one set. Time travel, mystery, intrigue and romance. Each book tells the story of first Tavish, then Seumas, then Tomas. Each one is filled to the brim with madness and mayhem as the men battle some evil druids working very dark magic. All the while they have their hands full getting through their daily lives, jobs and sort out love interests. Loads of reading hours to while away the time. If you love time travel and romance you can't go wrong with this set of books. Enjoy!
5 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟Review for Druid Magic by Jane Stain Narrated by Andrew McDermott - Audiobook Narrator
Loved this book right from the beginning! Tavish and Kelsey go back in time looking for the artifact. This is a great storyline brilliantly brought to life by the amazing Andrew McDermott. I felt like I was there with them the detail and delivery are so vivid
I love how they bring the past and the present together, how they have adventures in both time periods, and how they're related. The characters are feisty, the settings authentic, and the plots clever. There is plenty of time travel, mystery, magic, and romance.
Time travel back to the 14th Century with realistic characters. You get to explore a ruin in modern times then explore the lives of the characters in the 1400 Century Castle. Experience Druid magic, time travel and romance in this interesting series. Looking forward to more adventures.
My entire family is Scottish, good basis for choice. Detail in so far as technical, landscape, foods, vague at times. Detail of formal titles pertaining to jobs a bit of a mess. I enjoyed the series tremendously. Thank you. More, please😉
Definitely not the best I have read. The writing is not polished and the storyline is a bit juvenile. I believe an author can add a big of Scots dialect without making the whole sentence difficult to decipher. Look elsewhere .
I have come to fall head over heels with these Dunskey Castle books. The characters are very well developed and the worlds included that they journey through are easy to imagine. I recommend these.
I'm not really a time travel or history fan, so I was very surprised at how much I loved this collection! Castles, archeological digs, time travel, love, evil druids; this book is full of suspense and adventure.
Druids, an ancient castle dig site and time travel !makes for a unique tale of love, forgiveness and betrayal. A compelling story and adventures of three couples through space and time.
