Another wonderful adventure with characters we have come to know and love over the years, but if you are just meeting them in this story no problem as their warmth, experiences and complete dedication to their jobs will drag you right in! Be ready when you open the book, I did that and closed it at 'The End' much later! DI Lorne Warner is back mulling over a new case she has been given. A young girl is missing, which is not something Lorne and her team usually investigate, but her Supervisor is this young lady's Godfather! Lorne talks over the case with her work partner,DS Katy Foster and the team, the whole time thinking of when her own daughter was missing a few years ago. Hoping her team will keep up to it's usual great clearance of cases, she promises they will find this girl. Lorne's husband,Tony, is also looking for a different girl privately, so they try to help each other with any info found. The story moves at a very quick rate, I found myself holding my breath when a body is found! This author has such a wonderful way of introducing her characters, I feel I know them personally and am right beside them through every adventure. This is a marvelous, suspenseful story that has different twists and turns that keep you guessing! I recommend that every woman read stories by this writer, the warmth, understanding and joy to the senses found in every book will definitely make your day!! A BIG 5 Stars!!
DI Lorne Warner and DS Katy Foster are back in this 16th book of the Justice series. No worries ... this one is easily read as a stand-alone, although I highly recommend starting at the very beginning. What a great marathon read this would be!
Although Warner and Foster are usually called to in to investigate a murder, this time around they are ordered to look into a missing person case. The young girl who is missing is Warner's supervisor's goddaughter. He wants her to find his goddaughter ...now. Doesn't help that he is constantly barging in and interfering with her investigation.
It just so happens that Warner's husband, formerly a MS-16 agent and now a Private Investigator is also looking for a missing teen.
This is a rapid moving story ... especially when the two cases start converging. It will take Lorne, her team, and her husband to find these girls ... before they are found dead.
As the others in this series, the book is well written with solid characters. The story premise is a good one ... lots of action interspersed with the personal side of Lorne and her husband, as well as how they interact when it comes to a joint investigation.
Many thanks to the author for the advanced digital copy of this crime fiction. Opinions expressed here are unbiased and entirely my own.
It is so good to catch back up with Lorne again. It feels like an age since I was reading about them all last. Sadly though, you know there will always be murder and mayhem close by.
Lorne and Tony make a great team. At home as well as work. Tony has an extremely interesting work history and even his current work makes for fascinating reading. It was good to see a bit more of it in the story.
The case of a missing young lady causes issues in more ways than one for Lorne. Not only does it have her and her team under pressure to find her, it puts her in a compromising situation at work. You have to take your hat off to Lorne. She doesn’t half have some rubbish thrown at her so I love her strength and how feisty she is.
Shameful Justice ticks all the boxes for me. It has the perfect blend of home and work life for the main characters. The are also believable and ones that readers will take into their hearts as over the series they have become like family are close friends. Another gripping and page turner of a read in one of my favourite crime series’.
My thanks to the author for an advanced readers copy of this book. All opinions are my own and not biased in anyway.
Once again the author draws you in and never let's you go until the end . Action packed as always. This is one series that never fails to deliver a gritty story with such amazing characters . The only shameful thong about The book is if you don't read it
I absolutely devoured this book, literally didn’t want to put it down!! I couldn’t wait to learn the outcome but as always with this very talented author I was made to wait until the very end.
It’s the 16th book in the justice series, wow!! How did that happen!! I’ve read from book one and what a journey it’s taken me on. Being on the 16th book, people might wrongly think it would be a bit repetitive and what could M. Comley possibly do to make all the books different BUT believe me amazingly she manages this!! She is very very talented, I don’t know how she has managed every book being completely different!! whilst including absolutely everything a reader wants from this genre.
When D.I Lorne Warner and her team have an unusual case put on them by their superior, it stirs up some awful, personal memories for Lorne. But are the team be able to get to grips with a case that’s not usually for their department? Will Lorne reach breaking point, with her chief watching her every move and can she manage to keep focused - with the similarities of this case to a position she’s been in on a personal level.
You can still read this book, if you’re not familiar with the rest of the series.
Love the Justice Series.
DI Lorne Warner and DS Katy Foster, are back to keep us glued to this story.
Lorne and Katy are called to find a missing person. The weird thing, Lorne’s husband, Tony, is also looking for a different missing person, as a private investigator.
Carol, the psychic, still pops in to see Lorne. As always, she was able to help with the investigation. Tony and Lorne’s case, start to link up.
I held my breath a few times during some of the scenes. You’ll understand why, as you read. What a fantastic ending!
If this had been my first book of the series, I’d now be looking to start from the beginning.
Even though this is book 16 in the Justice series, it can be read as a stand-alone book. DI Lorne Warner is back with DS Katy Foster looking into the disappearance of a missing person. Time is running out to find her alive. As with all the Justice books, this one is full of action and extremely tense. I was on the edge of my seat and couldn’t put the book down! Another brilliant read by M.A. Comley. I would highly recommend this book
As always, I look forward the the latest installment of the Justice series. It’s like visiting old friends. This book was no exception. A young girl is missing and Lorne and the team are fighting against the clock to find her before it’s too late.
Fast paced and I couldn’t put it down. Highly recommended.
Another big 5* suspenseful adventure from Mel Comley who thankfully keeps her fans very busy. This very talented author never disappoints and each book is an exciting page turner.
DI Lorne Warner and her partner DS Kate Foster are back in book 16 and have just 24 hours to save the Goddaughter of Lorne’s Supervisor .... and time is running out.
Fantastic storyline and brilliant characters that I have come to know and love. I highly recommend this series, although Shameful Justice can be read as a standalone book.
Absolutely loved this book. Very hard to put down once started. Great series which just gets better and better. You've excelled yourself on this one Mel!!
Shameful justice by Mel comley. Lorne and her team are back. But Sean her boss has asked her to help track a missing person. Although she only deals in Murders she agrees. Later she finds out it's his god daughter. As they get the investigation under way a body turns up. Tony her husband and his partner ate on a case too. A missing girl who's been missing for 2 weeks. Can they catch this person before he Kills Emma who is Sean's missing god daughter? Omg an absolutely fantastic read. Mel has done it again. I love Lorne and her team. very emotional in places. Mel knows how to keep you reading until the last page. this is a great series one I would highly recommend. 5*. Would give more if I could.
Yess yet again Mel Comley has written another amazing book in this fantastic series. Love the twists and turns couldn't put it down and as always I can not wait for this next instalment........

Lorne is back and this time she is dealing with a disappearance when asked for help from her Boss Sean.
I’m used to Lorne and her team dealing with murders so this storyline made a nice change. This book can be read as a standalone but I would recommend to read this series from the beginning so you can get to know and love the characters and you definitely won’t be disappointed.
I read this book in one sitting because as usual, once started, I just cannot put this Authors work down! I often find myself forgetting to breathe because I’m on the edge of my seat when I am reading this Authors work. I don’t know how she does it, she’s a genius! Thank you once again M A Comley for another cracking read.
Wow this was a shocking book and one I am so pleased to have read.
Shocking as the subject matter deals with kidnapping and other vile deeds. Not do shocking that this book would come from the mind of this author as she is brilliant in her story telling.
Seeing Lorne and how she reacted to a similar item that happened to her in a previous book just made it more imperative to her to solve the case.
Sean in this book was a right pain and I began to really dislike him as he became insufferable during the investigation.
I loved the ending and to understand you will have to read it as it wasn't the usual ending .
Never get in Lorne Warners bad books...She will find you at the darkest corners of the World
When Lorne Warner is asked by her boss DCI Sean Roberts to investigate into the disappearance of his eighteen year old godchild Emma Lansbury..Lorne and the team spring to action..Lorne's husband Tony now a PI is also investigating a case of a missing girl Gillian Knot...Then a young womans body is discovered on the edge of a forest....After visiting Emma's family ,boyfriend ,the library where she works and the homeless centre where she volunteers three times a week ..Lorne gradually builds up a picture of her life...Then suddenly they realise perhaps time may be about to run out ...if it hasn't already for Emma....As the hands of time turn they have just hours...to find Emma ....Turning to Carol her friend a pysic...Carol can only see so much ....with her visions....Will they find Emma on time....?Mel Comley takes the reader into a place where angels fear to tread....Lorne Warner juggling work a wounded husband ....her own kennels that she loves beyond words and a daughter who is her world....has the heart of an angel but is tenacious, unwilting when she is on a case ... Couldn't put this down....Love the whole series....
I love the Justice series, and M. A. Comley doesn't disappoint in this latest installment. Unusually for Lorne and her team, in this one, they are dealing with a child abduction rather than a murder. I really liked the change that this brought about, and especially because we got to see some scenes from the abductee which really helped lend to the tension and urgency as Lorne and her team searched desperately to find the missing girl before it's too late.
As with all the authors books, it moves at a clip. There's no fluff, no flim-flam, no unnecessary scenes. And that's what I love the most - the fast-paced nature of this series.
I am a massive fan of this authors books so I was delighted when I saw that this book was being released!!
It is another fantastic addition to the brilliant Justice series - it has the characters that I know and love it is fast-paced and gripped me from the beginning to the end. Emma was a great character and I really felt for her.
A five star read for me - I loved it!!! And cannot wait for the next book!!
Sometimes a series starts well and fizzles out especially by the time it hits 14 or more books. This series is a complete exception to the rule. With every book you know exactly what you are going to get- a story of an exceptionally high standard and characters which continue to develop throughout. I can’t recommend this series highly enough.
Lorne is called on to investigate the disappearance of her boss’s goddaughter which takes her into the world of the homeless whilst Tony is also investigating a missing person’s case too. The two of them again manage to work together well whilst running their house together.
Absolutely loved this fast paced, suspense filled book featuring the lovely DI Lorne Warner! So well written, very descriptive and full of detail, has everything you could wish for in a good crime thriller. The story just flows so well, you want to keep reading without putting it down. This book certainly didn't disappoint, I love this series, was one of my best finds for 2017 and the author is very talented
Although this is book 16 of the Justice series I am always excited when a new one is due to be published. This one did not disappointed, action packed from beginning to end. Brilliant story.
I’ve read all of the books in this series so far and I truly enjoyed the books at the beginning of the series. Although as I’ve continued to read them I’ve come to find that every book follows the exact same formula and it becomes extremely monotonous. Lorne starts work in the morning facing a mountain of mail to get through, which usually takes an hour. She and her partner go to the scene of a murder and engage in some playful banter with the pathologist (cheeky mare). Head back to the office and instruct a team member to check the CCTV. Then they do some interviews with the victims associates. Lorne gets a gut feeling about something (that’s never wrong). They have a press conference and if they don’t get a tip to break the case they inevitably get the key to case from Carol, the psychic. It just feels like I’m reading the same book over and over again with some minor changes. Three chapters in and you can usually figure out the story.

Usual series rules apply. I am not going to bore you by spelling them out, nor the reasons for it being better to start a series at book one and read in order. I'm sure you all know the spiel by now! So, a young girl is missing. Not just anyone mind, but it's Lorne's boss's goddaughter and he wants Lorne on the case even though it is not the kind of case she usually investigates. He wants her as she is his best officer. Something that he fails to remember along the way as his interference in the case at every level starts to increase. So she has him to contend with as well as a ticking clock. She does understand where his head is at being as she has been through something similar in her own past so she does try and put up with things. With time rapidly running out, Lorne needs all her wits about her and takes every available avenue of help she can both within and outside her team, to try and bring the missing girl home alive. I've lost count of the number of times I've read a new book by this author and thought it was her best yet. Well, you know what, I'll just say it again... Even with the bar already set pretty much as high as it can go, once again I was totally blown away with the story contained within this book. And along with the story went all the other things that makes this author stand out from the crowd. No mean feat these days as there are more and more of this genre series popping up almost daily. But, once again, she eclipses them with her trademark banter and character interaction, her no nonsense attitude to superfluous padding, and her perfect balance between the personal and the professional lives of her characters. The absolute trinity of what I need to make a series book a great read. It also has the most wonderful and thought provoking ending. All in all another really great addition to a series that shows absolutely no signs of flagging. Can't wait to see what happens next time.
A great storyline in the newest of the Justice Series. I always enjoy reading about what DI Lorne Warner and her team get up to next and this book certainly didn't disappoint. The easiness of the interaction between her staff and their willingness to help one another which extends into her home life shows you what a good leader she is, no other way to say it, she gets the job done. This crime was totally different from the norm that Lorne deals with, being a missing person but the work to find her is still 100%. I'd highly recommend this book to readers who enjoy a good thriller.
Lorne Warner is tasked in Shameful Justice with finding a missing girl. The lovely Emma, a librarian and volunteer at a homeless centre, has been abducted. Finding her is imperative as the body of another missing girl is discovered. The pressure on Lorne for this case is immense as , Emma is the goddaughter of Lorne's boss DCI Sean Roberts. This is another gripping read in the Justice series. Lorne's sensitivity towards victims families and her determination for justice is once again a trait that makes Lorne such a fantastic character
Whether you've been following Comley's Justice series or not you will thoroughly enjoy Shameful Justice. Comley's character development also lends this novel to an easy stand alone. DI Lorne and her her team must find an abducted young woman before she is killed...with literally no clues...And believe me...This is personal for her team. Comley's writing style just makes you want to continue reading. I love it and highly recommend this book.
Well what can I say this series is going from strength to strength I won't give any spoilers but this story starts off with an average abduction and then it kicks in to a way above average story it can be read as a stand alone book but I would recommend that you read the series then you can see how all the characters are maturing which is keeping the whole series as fresh as book one hope the next edition is out soon as I seem to have become addicted to this series
Thank you for such a realistic portrayal of chronic disability and limb loss and complications of prosthesis use. It felt well researched in many layered ways, from concealing pain and minimising severity and frustration and stubbornness being detrimental in day to day management. The story was superb but most of all, these characters and relationships are all so tangible and real to me. Thanks for another delightful installment xx
